Fair play to him if true. They agreed a contract with him. You can't moan about players not seeing out their contracts and wanting to leave them early and then moan that they want to stay for the duration of their contract.

Could someone tell me what a "number 9" actually is? I know it's a striker of sorts but I assumed it must be a particular style of striker or they'd have just said that?

Was in the pub where they were showing the fight and I've always found boxing totally boring and tedious (too disaplined for me, I much prefer MMA) but when it was pointed out to me that he had a Saints badge on his belt I became a massive supporter! You don't get this sense of unity if you support Man United or Liverpool or one of them lot.

It isn't a cult following. He clearly isn't ready but there's obviously talent there. Keepers don't tend to come good until their mid 20s at least. He's got a long way to go. But despite being currently poor he gets blamed for goals that no keeper would have had any chance in hell of stopping and when he makes a point blank save it gets totally ignored or branded "a save he should be making".

Did the Skacel saga last as long as its sometimes made out to have gone on? From memory, we signed him from Hearts because George Burley had most recently worked with him there. We appointed Burley in Dec 2005 and presented Skacel as a new signing in a friendly the week before the season started. I want to say it was against Panathinaikos but I wouldn't swear to it. That would have been early August 2006. So only 7 months or so I can think of much longer sagas. We've just spent a year trying to get Wood. (Oh matron/giggity)

Absolute tosspiece. I know someone (admittedly only knew them via Facebook and a forum like this but still) who was one of the 22 killed in that horrific instance. It absolutely happened...Not that I think anyone on here needs convincing.
