  1. People describing him as 'rubbish' are actually talking 'rubbish'. He's proven himself a good player in the past however he is now in poor form. If he decides he wants to make a fight of it here and get himself back in the team, let him stay. If he wants a new start, let him go. In the past he's shown a good attitude and has expressed affection for Saints so I'm hoping his choice will be the former. I still believe he could be a real threat at this level.
  2. I am........ hiding the end of my sentence so that people will be tempted to read it. I know that if I post a full sentence without the hidden bit, people will see how dull it is and not read it.
  3. Well I'm certainly not nervous, and any rumours of me hitting refresh every five seconds with trembling hands as I think back to 101 previous games we have thrown away towards the end are totally unfounded.
  4. Oh goody, I was hoping for yet another 'Can Saints survive on a one goal lead away from home?' thriller!
  5. I don't mind as long as he doesn't dribble for too long before he shoots. That's not quite how innuendo works!
  6. Here we go again with some people delighting in other's troubles. JP may not have done well at Saints, under the circumstances, who would have done? Yet somehow we have people who know better telling us: "don't buy the nice guy thing, he's not a good manager". Personally I wish him well and hope he turns things around.
  7. Let's take one thing at a time. I would truly be delighted just to escape relegation this season.
  8. Great signing! I expressed my first doubts about Pardew when we lost to Bristol but he's made some great transfer moves and I believe the results will come.
  9. He paid towards the correction of the Ted Bates statue of his own accord. It seems very likely he paid to keep us alive in the dark season. He has always been a fan and always spoken and behaved like a fan. And some people hate him for making a mistake that Matty and many others also made at the time. It never ceases to amaze me how harsh some fans are.
  10. Our full time whistle went before it did at Molyneux so we got our first points before Pompey! FACT!
  11. Well I wouldn't worry too much either way. They've been weaker than their rival team for most of their lives. We've been the best team in Hampshire for 90% of the time.
  12. Got up at 0200 to listen to that ****. For the very first time, I'm starting to wonder about Pardew.
  13. Not a radio link but the live text commentary is the next 'best' thing, and free. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/player/LiveMatches/0,,10280,00.html
  14. Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
  15. Sweet. I've been looking for a saints blog for a while. Added it to my bloglines list.
  16. If you disparage the DM again I will be forced to fly back to Blighty and slap you with the seafood item of your choice. You knock MLT, and now it appears you are some Guardian/Indepedent type of reader, too!
  17. I find it hard to take your opinion seriously after the way you knocked MLT. I would point out one massive difference - the current regime have invested over thirteen million into the club. Maybe, but was it not more or less the same regime that presided over the fatal appointment of Wigley and the utterly shameless and embarrassing PR campaign via the OS during the takeover saga post 2005? I sense far more professionalism with the new guys and I believe many fans would agree.
  18. The only real issue is safety, isn't it? At Saints you have a seated family stand so you are sorted. I want to take my soon to be four year old to a game but the local team only have terracing, and it gets crowded.
  19. The person who called you a knob is clearly wrong, and you should pay no attention to him. It is obvious that you are anatomy of the more feminine variety.
  20. Errr.......we scored in open play against the top team. Personally I'd rather take goals from penalties and three points, ta very much.
  21. Because they needed to do a complete rebuilding job. I think they are focused on getting the first team, manager and scouting positions sorted and settled before looking for a DOF. Some things can be important without being urgent.
  22. +1 (Apprently that's the cool, geeky way to say you agree with someone)
  23. Pleased. Like many I am trying not to consider the possibility of a relegation battle. We often talk about the team needing to break out of a losing mentality but we as fans need to think our our own psychology too! Hopefully Mister Holmes will turn out to be the missing link on the wing, but it's a gamble. Pardew may well need to get at least one more loan signing in.
  24. I have very similar first impressions of the article and overall sentiments. However, perhaps the Addicks fans responded intelligently because it was a well written piece. We do get sensible responses here to good articles and silly responses to silly threads. It was a little shocking at how scathing they were of Pardew, but I'll bet Coventry fans were at least partly negative towards Strachan by the time he left. We were probably critical of Sturrock or even Stuart Gray who, despite his sacking, achieved very good things at Northampton. The point is that managers can be very well respected in one place and strongly criticised in another. As people have noted, Pardew seems to have learnt from his mistakes, he's been patient to the point of frustrating many of us on here and the idea that he is a 'chancer' just doesn't fit in with what I've seen or heard from him. I'll bet it would give him a real buzz to win on the weekend.
  25. Has it occured to people like the OP that perhaps - with this forum being very busy and the player in question being young - Mr Paterson will get to read this thread? Try to keep criticism in proportion. Yes you have your right to free speech and so on but do think before you post. In any case, I seem to recall a certain Kenwyne Jones getting far more stick early on in his Saints career, myself being one of the guilty parties.
