  1. He also made several good saves in the Everton game including stopping a terrible own goal attempt. He had good games against Newcastle and Spurs and an outstanding game against Arsenal. It's already been discussed that he lost his confidence under Burley and he has done very well at Forest. Just because he is not first choice two years later doesn't make him a bad keeper now does it? *** Just saw I broke my own rules and included Kanchelskis in my team! Doh!
  2. I think we should make a rule that we only use players who have played at least three first team games. The likes of Forecast, Pulis, etc. therefore cannot be included. Blayney Higgenbotham (when played out of psoitioned at lb/rb) Davenport Jakobbsen LB: Molyneux Kanchelskis Bleidelis Folly Ripley Bradley Wright-Phillips + who is this pericard person? Including members of our current youth set up is very harsh. Give Jamie a chance.
  3. Whoever includes Paul Smith in a 'worst ever' team is mental. He had several outstanding performances for us in the prem when he was called in to replace an injured Niemi. Burley didn't rate him and his confidence dropped though he went on to do well with Forest.
  4. It's probably the gap between people who have played and/or understand the depth of football and the people who think that if you are not scoring Le Tissier style goals, Lambert style goal tallies or Roy Keane style tackles then you are no good.
  5. I think people are reading too much into this. He was probably trying to avoid a stiff punsihment for his extra points and everything he sad about moving on was not binding in any way. Good defender at this level but too expensive. Parrds is well aware of the 'lack of cover' suituation and will have a remedy in mind, I'm sure.
  6. Is Jaidi injured? Surely he's one of the first names on Pards' team sheet? I'll be following the game from start to finish, but have to use my remaining two posts wisely.........
  7. Aussie champs Melbourne Victory enter the same Champions League as Muangthong United over here. I go to lots of games and keep my eyes peeled but TBH, as much as I enjoy the games, I've seen very few players that would make the Eastleigh squad, let alone Saints.
  8. Just not the Saints we all know is it? Closing games down, keeping slender leads, fighting back and winning penalty shoot outs? Alan Pardew WTF have you done with our team?! :-)
  9. Don't worry we all get that. C'mon Bart!
  10. Well done to all the gentalia that sung this song for one of our own players. As noted, it's not going to do his confidence or attitude a whole lot of good to have his own side's fans knocking him. Why not sing it when he scores for irony?
  11. In my best Borat voice: "It's nice!"
  12. Can't suggest any names but we need a replacement for Murty, cover for Lambert and Connelly and a centre back.
  13. I'm not sure what the answer is for The Echo. I don't want them to go bust as they have been around for a long time and represent part of the area's history. But it's clear from reading these comments that most do not feel The Echo has any kind of allegiance to Saints or the area. I've always felt the paper is trying to continue on as if the Internet had never happened. Wake up guys, you need to adapt, build up your reputation gain and do something worthwhile. The problem is, you need investment to do that.
  14. I disagree. I want Pompey and whatever team rises from the (f)lames to replace Pompey doomed to play at Fratton forever!
  15. I think you'll find it was going into administration that made us cheaper to buy.
  16. Actually I imagine Wotte would make a good youth team coach.
  17. Many of the problems and challenges we are up against this season come down to the lack of preparation time we had and I'm sure this problem with Waigo is one of them. If Pards could have signed him earlier and without a heavy schedule to play, I'm sure he could have hired a translator and got a coach to spend a lot of time helping him to practise staying onside. But give it time, he's still adapting to the English game, and I'm sure he'll improve. One poster mentioned people at the game "abusing" him, I hope he actually meant criticising rather than abusing, anyone abusing a player during the game should be ashamed of themselves.
  18. But players usually settle into a certain pattern or technique. Not every shot or pass is done the same way. It can be a short or long pass, a curling or straight shot, etc. If he runs, does he feint then cut inside or does he try to turn his man ASAP? etc.
  19. Sorry to go back off topic but having lived in Thailand for some time, I can tell you that the government is indeed pathetic, most Thais would agree (chi mai tonibell?) and most Thais respect the UK government which for all its many faults, is far better than most of the rest of the world have. Asking someone if they are Nick Griffin simply for criticising the government of another country is actually the most pathetic thing of all.
  20. Thanks for uploading and hope to see more. We appreciate it's hard to get good pictures in the dark from such a distance.
  21. As mentioned, if he's been described by Pards as a 'doubt' then it surely can't be too bad, and I see no advantage in Pards being deceptive about his chances. Still, I do wish teh OS would hury up and give us some more details.
  22. With Poke on loan, who will be our sub goalie? Forecast?
  23. I don't think the FA will appoint Redknapp for two reasons. The first is his age and the second is his dubious financial dealings.
  24. The most hilarious thin about the Potter fiasco was that there was some Premier League Handbook released at the start of the season with a profile of each club including a focus on one player. Our focus was Potter and to this day I can recall some of the words. There was something like "His mazy runs through the defence and his awareness could cause problems for many defenders this season. This young player may prove to be the bargain of the season". Didn't quite work out that way, did it?
