How about Alan Bennett? He's played a full season with Brenford this year, who will likely win League Two. He's also out of contract with Reading at the end of this season, so no transfer fee. I personally think he would be excellent in League One.

http://www.football.virginmedia.com/page/Football/Championship/VideoIndex/0,,12555,00.html?mvnAssetId=4363036 Might not work if you're outside the UK. McGoldrick was bought from Notts County, not Forest.

http://www.justin.tv/dragonsufc If you can stand to watch anymore. I want to cry.

This is ridiculous.

Does anyone else think our red/white shirts, red shorts combo looks a bit rubbish? Anyway, COYR!

The OS is showing that the Northam has already sold out, which is pleasing because you can normally still get a ticket in there at 2.30 on a matchday. Ought to be a big crowd really. COYR!

I believe the Football League nailed Leeds to the wall with a heavy points deduction last season when they tried some financial trickery to get out of administration in a way that wasn't to the League's taste. As far as I can tell, the Football League plays judge and jury, and considers every case individually, so they can do what they want to us once we go into administration. It'll be a sad day for Saints tomorrow if any of this is true. All we can hope is that some good comes out of it, and everything turns out alright for the club in the end.

Charlton have signed Luke Varney, Izale McCleod and Stuart Fleetwood in the last two years, all from the lower leagues. Total cost - £3.3million. From that outlay, they've had 67 first team appearances and 10 goals in a combined almost 4.5 years at the club. Varney has been sold for half the price they bought him, McLeod is on loan at Millwall and Fleetwood is on loan at Exeter, having never played for Charlton's first team. I'm not saying that you can't find good players on the cheap from the lower leagues - look at Chris Perry, as one example. It's just that it's very easy to throw money at someone who has had one good season lower down, but may well never cut it at the level you want him to.

I seem to remember that we got Poke to sign a one year extention to his contract at the start of this season, so it runs out in June 2010. That was the reason that his move to Torquay was slightly delayed, I recall. Even so, it matters not a jot because I don't think there's any chance of Poke playing for Saints' first team any more.

Cheers for that. It's really strange to see the players celebrating, I've got so used to seeing them hanging their heads when a goal is scored. Charlton seem as good as down now, 12 points in with 13 to go. They don't look like they have a hope of going on a run good enough to make that kind of deficit up. Just off to buy my ticket for Brum now. COYR!

I'm not overwhelmed, but it's perhaps as good as we could have hoped for. I'm disappointed that we haven't been able to get rid of Skacel or Euell, but keeping all the players we like, and getting some (hopefully decent) ones in is pleasing.
-
Arse. 1-1. Good goal. It's a strange feeling, watching a match and wanting the Skates to win.
-
That's only when a player is transferred. You can (I believe) play for as many different clubs while on loan as you want. For example, Nathan Dyer has played for Sheffield United, for Swansea and for us this year.

Hopefully we won't have to put up with Bart next year, I like him but over the last year or so all he's been worryingly prone to dropping the ball, which will get punished over a Championship season. Perhaps Tommy Forecast will play if Kel leaves over the summer?

Went to Woolies in Devizes, and got Ryan Adams' album Easy Tiger on a whim for £1. Having listened to it once I'm extremely pleased with the purchase. The rumour is that our store will become an Iceland - not sure I believe that though, as the town's Iceland was only bought out two years ago to become an M&S Simply Food, and we already have 6 supermarkets for 10,000 people. It's hard to say what would be suitable to replace it. Even so, sad to it close for the last time, and especially sad for the people who've lost their jobs as a result.
-
We were rumoured to be getting Lee Molineux, a 19 year old from Everton, on loan until the end of the season.
-
I think we might get battered this afternoon, but I wouldn't be going if there was no hope left at all. Come on Saints.
-
They've gone downhill in the last few years, taken out nearly all the specialist music that people might actually want to buy from a proper retailer, and filled the stores up with DVDs and books that you can get far cheaper from supermarkets or the internet. I'm not surprised at all that they've gone under. Still, sad to see another shop go, they were good a few years back.
-
So... Are we buying him, or is it just a loan for the rest of the season? Not sure I believe the Eurosport website when it says we'll have to sell Drew and Lallana for £2m each just to keep going in January. I find it hard to believe that they know any more than we do about the situation, and Jan has said that the club doesn't have to sell if it doesn't want to.

Can't make it then due to work, but shall be watching the second half in the pub with all my plastic Manc friends. COYR!

Interesting. Two quite good teams, Brady will be a big draw, and Malcolm Glazer conveniently owns the Bucs. Were the Pats not supposed to be playing a preseason game against the Seahawks in China next year? That can't be going ahead anymore. Also, I'm sure I heard about plans to have two regular season games in Europe if the International Series is a success. Anyone know if that's still happening?
-
If there's a good chance that we'll be on TV (and I reckon there is), what times are the televised matches going to be for the FA Cup 3rd Round weekend? I'll go along if I can, but I'm supposed to be working that weekend, so unless it's an evening kick off I won't be able to get to the game.

Jesus wept. If they win this, we will never hear the end of it.
