Anyone know if the whole stadium will be open? There's nothing saying about it on the OS, but last year only the Kingsland was opened for the Stoke friendly which makes me wonder.
-
It was away at Cheltenham Town, before the 06/07 Season. Here he is:
-
Here are the goals - (WARNING - John 'Best Fan In The World ' W******d is show in the video.) Their defending is entertainingly poor. I reckon the Skates are going to have a hard time in The Championship this season.
-
A Swindon Town supporting mate of mine has heard that Prutton could be going to them, but I don't know how ITK he is.
-
Can we not have Sandstorm? We should also get Mike Osman to sing the National Anthem. But seriously, I'd have to choose The Saints Are Coming out of those three.
-
Tamas Vasko? Never signed for us, but he played in the Friendly at Eastleigh at the start of 07/08. Bristol City signed him on loan for the rest of the season, where he was grindingly mediocre. Apparently Leeds were nearly in for him this January. On a related note, does anyone remember some link being announced with a Hungarian Club a couple of years back? I don't think I'm imagining it. Also, I feel people are perhaps being harsh on Marcelo Sarmiento. He got good reports in the few games he played for us, and he's spent the last three seasons playing for fairly good clubs in the Greek Super League, qualifying for Europe last season. Nice one Burley.

If Stern John features tmrw, what reaction he is likely to get?
Chris Larkin replied to shurlock's topic in The Saints
Surely he has to get a good reception? It was his goals that kept us up in 07/08, he's the only Saints player ever to have a competitive hat-trick at SMS, he scored quite a bit whenever he played, and seemed a reasonable human being off the field to boot. As far as I'm concerned, Keane hates us, and so he deserves and will no doubt recieve a fair bit of abuse. -
I believe that a judge will appoint an administrator, if that's the case. Saints ended up calling the administrators in ourselves, so we had a choice of who performed it. If they get wound up in court, then they won't have that choice, but an administrator will at least get appointed. That's my analysis, although I may not be entirely correct.
-
Didn't think I was going to be able to get to this game, but now I probably can. Haven't been to SMS in over two months, shameful of me. I expect fans of the rest of the teams in the League will depise our arrogance, but like most of you, I can't see us not winning again this weekend. I'm going for 4-1. What a lovely feeling. This season is wonderfully refreshing, when compared to the last two. Come on, you Saints.

COYR. That is all.
-
Very much looking forward to seeing Saints in the flesh today. Hopefully a good result will help to alleviate my grinding come down. COYR!

I was planning to walk, it's only 1.8 miles down a main road according to Google Maps. Apparently there's also a bus every 20 minutes from near the station to Sixfields, so you could go for that. Anyway, I'm getting the train from Leicester, changing at Nuneaton.

Chris Baird at home against Cardiff, 06/07? Might not have been 40 yards, but it was some outrageous distance, completely from nowhere. I wish we could have him back.
-
I talked to a Swindon supporting mate earlier today, he said that Norwich were absolutely dire in their Johnstone's Paint Trophy match on Tuesday night. Swindon are having a lot of trouble scoring at the moment, but they apparently ought to have won about 6-0. He suggested that our reserves could probably beat Norwich if they played like they did in midweek.
-
That's about as good as it possibly could have gone for us. Hopefully Hereford will pull one over MK Dons, but to be honest I think we have to be favourites to reach the final from the Southern Section now. COYR!
-
High times. As St Landrew said in the other thread, it wasn't even worrying when Charlton scored. I'm concerned we can't keep a clean sheet against anyone, but if we score like this (9 in a row with 2+ goals) then I suppose it doesn't matter much. So, who does everyone want in the next round? The possiblities are: Hereford United MK Dons Norwich City I suppose Hereford will be easiest, but I'm not scared of any of those teams at home or away. I seriously believe us to be the strongest side left in the Southern section, and I'd expect us to beat anyone left in the JPT with the possible exception of Leeds. The draw is made this Saturday, games to be played the week commencing 14th December. COYR!

1-0, just to be original. Dan Harding to score. COYR.

My Seahawks are still wildly inconsistent. A 2-4 record, but in the games we've won, 59 points scored and 0 conceded. If I had to bet on the NFC West, I'd say the 49ers are going to win the divison by quite some way. There's always next year... I'd be frankly delighted to see New Orleans in the Superbowl, they are by far the oldest franchise never to have reached the final game, and Drew Brees is both likeable and a quite wonderful player.
-
Probably right. Even so, with all that we've had to put up with over the last few years, I'm very much enjoying the feeling of mindless optimism that today's result has given me. That would be absolutely incredible.
-
COYR! We're only 11 points off the play-offs with 33 games left, and would be 10th if we hadn't had the points penalty. I'm actually starting to believe there's a chance we could go up this season.
-
0 - 1. Lallana to get the only goal, as he has been absolutely wonderful for us this year.
-
COYR!!!! Now let's go out and beat Torquay on tuesday, wouldn't it be fantastic to get ourselves a trophy this season?
-
He was absolute balls for much of last year, so you'll understand why some people might not have wanted Wotton to play. Still, if one of our players deserves a place in the team on current form then he should have it. Healthy competition for spots is a very nice problem to face.
-
Yeah, Stern John hat-trick. I still find it hard to believe that of all the wonderful players who we've seen at St Mary's, only Stern John and Jamie Scowcroft have got competitive hat-tricks. Still, Hull then went and at thrashed us 5-0 at the KC in March. I will always remember that scoreline, as it was on the day of my 18th birthday. Nice one Saints!

The fact that he's been successful at two of the three clubs he's managed so far shows to me that Pardew probably knows what he's doing. I believe that long term success is more likely under someone with a reasonable track record than just anybody who can luck in to a few good results. Perhaps I'm living in a world of my own, but I am astonished at the proportion of people on this thread who want Pardew gone. In 06/07, even by October there were people suggesting that we were so bad that we would never have a chance of the play-offs. As it was, we were unlucky not to get to the final. Extrapolations this early are stupid, just because results went against us on tuesday doesn't mean the sky is falling down. Don't even joke about it.
