  1. Disagree, I think 20m x 15m is about right.
  2. I've learnt this season that, along with P*mpey, Bournemouth and Brighton consider us their biggest rivals. This has parallels to a survey (see below) carried a few years ago where clubs like Rotherham and Barnsley considered Sheff Wed their biggest rivals; Bolton considered Man Utd their biggest rivals etc. I see it as a compliment, so let's enjoy it. http://www.footballfanscensus.com/issueresults/Club_Rivalries_Uncovered_Results.pdf
  3. I thought this was against the rules? Isn't that why the "we have FA permission to use the multiball system" stuff came into play - you either use it for the whole match or not at all? I thought it was aimed at stopping the above happening or, and I seem to remember Wolves doing this to us at Molineux a few seasons back, clubs only having ball boys in the half they're attacking?
  4. What about a flag with just Markus "Che Guevara-ed" onto it and no writing? I think that'd look a lot more tidy. Agree with not going with any cheap option, especially if we're planning to get it out before every game (are we??) Also agree with consulting some Liverpool fans as mentioned above, they know how it's done!
  5. Meow! As far as I'm aware, we don't have a single song to the "Viva whatever" tune! I like it as well, one of those that spreads and builds - and goes on for a while dominating any opposition chants. If you're going to have a go at songs, how about the "We're by far the greatest team the world has ever seen" one (and the like)? Annoying and moronic (and inaccurate).
  6. Nice idea. I think we also need a song where his name can be more clearly heard. My suggestion? To the tune of viva Ronaldo: Markus Liebherr, Markus Liebherr, Our saviour and our King, Hear the Southampton sing, Markus Liebherr HTH
  7. I must have repressed how bad our start to the season was! Huddersfield now drawn 9 of their last 16..
  8. Ted Bates trophy final at St Mary's
  9. glad to see some hammond love on here! he's my player of season so far

    Chaplow

He's been worryingly anonymous for a few games now. Dean Hammond, on the other hand, has been outstanding (as usual). Comfortably our most underrated player, couldn't believe it when I saw a long thread slating him a while back. He covers so much ground, has desire etc. but people rarely notice how good his vision/long ball play is as well
  11. I've often thought this may be a problem - we need a new Markus chant where his name is clearly heard! Markus Liebherr, Markus Leibherr, Our saviour and our King, Hear the Southampton sing, Markus Liebherr (to the tune of Man Utd's Viva Ronaldo)
  12. I agree with everything said here (bar the "business end of the season" bit - 3 points for a win at start or end of season!)
  13. http://www.skysports.com/fanzone/blogs/story/0,24015,16855_6817460,00.html apologies if already posted
  14. shame he decided to do this for a match with such a flat atmosphere!
  15. I reckon we'll drop points in every "no excuses" match. Semi-colon, close brackets.
  16. Oldham had only lost twice at home all season before we bowled up and battered them 6-0. Generally I find myself more concerned about playing teams who are going into the match with terrible records than those going in with decent ones - and I usually find that my concerns are realised fairly often! I can see Saints picking up 9 points from Brighton, Charlton and Bournemouth (I hate this Bompey thing, don't pander to their desire for us to hate them!!) and then dropping points at home to Bristol Rovers, Sheff Wed etc
  17. this. yesterday wasn't as loud as usual though - and we did seem to have a problem getting behind the team immediately after swindon equalised. credit to the players for digging it out despite such a negative environment
  18. Flinders!!
  19. me and my mate are going, bought our tickets (and travel) yesterday - we've been put on coach 1 so not many travel tickets sold so far! id imagine a fair few who bought them first time round'll have to bail now it's on a tues night - ive had to take a day off work!
  20. any news on tickets for this game? did it sell out first time round? i couldn't go then but can make the rearrangement but there doesn't seem to be any news re tickets on the os
  21. disaster waiting to happen, still going though
  22. "[saints] play in one of the most modern stadiums in the country, have a training ground worth about £10m, a fan base better than most higher clubs and access to a sea and airport." I'm not gonna get dragged into a racism debate or arguments over whether an Arab takeover would be a good thing or not or whether the mail is trustworthy or not; I'm just gonna enjoy the above quote...
