Funny that - I followed a rather nice 4x4 down the M3 yesterday with the number plate of 9 MCS - make of that what you will.

I missed the opportunity/time to buy my own seat as a ST holder. So I went to get my ticket at the TO and was told I needed to purchase a Carlisle ticket - I posed the question "Why would I need two?" they then checked that I had allready purchased my own seat and back tracked. I only purchased the Man U one.

Is that per player? I'd go for McK-S from P'boro for say £1m but no more. The problem as I see it is that we could well have offered that but been knocked back - NC & NA say ok but we do not value him at more so the deal goes nowhere. I get the impression that NC will in no way go above the value our club has placed on any player/target. I think we will sign A N Other but knowing Saints it won't be anyone that has been mentioned on here or other threads. 5 days to go and that is a hell of a long time in football.

Ron - I kinda share your concerns but I trust the NC has the dosh for the right player. BTW how much would we need to spend in your opinion to alay those concerns?

Not one for the loan system as it stands - I'm with you on your comments "I think that loans should be restricted to players aged 21 or under, or those which have a set in concrete 'option to buy'."

Chaplow & PNE springs to mind.

They obviously have players that they would like to have - the "significant" bit to me means actual players that will walk into the first team not just this season but potentially in the Championship. If they came then the players they replace would either revert to squad (therefore making the squad stronger) or move on, giving some of the younger players the opportunity to become the sqad player and so on.... As to them doing their best or don't see the real need to get players in bit - I think they are probably doing their best and and are always looking to improve the squad but if the players are not out there/available then they will keep what they have got by default.

It matters not that we should be able to beat Tranmere irrespective of letting them know that we have injuries. What matters is that we give ourselves every possible advantange and if that means keeping schtum then keep schtum.

Football nowadays is a squad game not just the 1st 11. If we can sign players to improve the squad then we should if however the players that are out there will not improve the squad then we should not - simple really. I trust NA & NC to do just that.
