To be honest I never agree with a word you say but on this occasion you're spot on.

Probably the most sane comments I've seen on here in a long time. Consistency is the key and we have not had the chance to gain that - mainly (IMO) due to injuries. The best I've seen our defence play was in the second half against villa (didn't do to shabbily in the first either) but when have we had the same personnel available since then? As to defending from the front totally agree good teams work as a unit both in attack and defence.

And there was me thinking it was NC that screwed up all of the transfers that didn't happen with his bombastic take it or leave it approach. Oh well another lesson learned then.........

A couple of wins and NA's job will be fine (not that I think it isn't). I personally think that NA is (as the team are) finding his way in the PL which is no bad thing and not a reason to give him the tin tack. I think he'll come good as it would appear he is a quick learner and some of the lessons dished out to us over the last few games would have hurt. What I really don't want is for Saints to get on the manager merry go round as it has never served us well in the past.

He's not a captain IMHO. The pressure that puts on him seems to have had a negative effect i.e. he thinks he can resolve things on his own so therefore is playing all over the place which means he is not covering etc as he is out of position.

England's way of playing is based on huff and puff. How may times do you hear the same old rubbish that its all about anything other than actually being able to control a ball (you know that thing your trade is based on). I mean if your an electrician you need to be good with electrics, being good at getting to work won't stop you electrocuting yourself. What makes the likes of Messi great? The fact that they have complete control over the ball no matter if they are standing still or running at pace. Some of the so called England internationals cannot even control a straight forward pass to them - try to trap it and it squirts about 6 feet away.

How many more times does this need to be covered eh? Jeez it gets so boring. It was obvious to all that we were looking for defenders but they have to be right for the club/team. We got one in that would seem to fit the bill but its not like popping to Tesco's and picking one up like some kind of ready meal. So for me we spent what we did on improving the squad - that has happened. Who's to say that there isn't another £12m sat in the bank waiting for the right person?
