There's no doubt about it, its been said before that all are for sale. That doesn't mean they will ALL be sold. Rasiak deal looks to be just about done (Watford) hence he did not play. My guess though that there is absolutely no interest in Skacel and Euell and it looks more like they will still be around in 2 weeks time, hence why they are being given games. It would suggest that JP would be happy if these two stayed, whereas I think he sees Thomas as surplus to requiements, since we have at least 6 other CBs when they are all fit (Killer, Davies, Perry, Wotton, Spiderman and Lancashire). Ironic really that the position that we were weakest in last season we now have a surplus, having already lost Claus, Powell and Makin.

Lowe and WH Ireland: Why the connection is pivitol for our club
VectisSaint replied to scooby's topic in The Saints
"Who's" is spelled "whose". People in glass houses and all that... The rest of your post though is spot on -
Surprised no-one has mentioned that the Reserves lost to Swindon in a pre-season friendly. Wotte gave Rudi and Euell a run-out which suggests to me at least that they may be staying. If Rasiak was staying I would have thought he would also have played some part, but he didn't.

Carling Cup Seedings - Come on Wycombe and Port Vale?
VectisSaint replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
Now you have some idea how it feels to support Forest or Leeds Two times European Champions and 1 time runners-up, not seeded in 2nd round of England's second tier cup competition. -
Thought we played Yeovil at home season before last:)

Of all the positions on the pitch, CB is the least of our problems. A RB or LB would be much more useful.

An insightful post indeed

If so, someone needs to inform JP of the rules. Decided tonite, pens if required, no replays

Paul Jones (no, not that one)

Can't really see why Rasiak's price would be in Euros. I think transfers within England are still done in GBPs. Maybe it was just a slip from JP. Still the sooner it happens the better, need to provide the possibility of a couple of loans possibly and we don't need Greg if we have John.

Some really odd things happen on this thread. Keep seeing posts that were not there before suddenly appearing. When I posted the goal, I read the thread and there were no other posts, then all of a sudden several others appeared apparently earlier. Strange. Still I'll get over it I reckon...

Should we change Woot to Wott?
-
Yes, goal from Holmes

So you missed the good chance for Lallana which forced a good save from Paul Jones then (no not that Paul Jones)

Thing is Alps, that Spiderman is a CB, just as much as he is a defensive MF. Whereas Wotton is probably better in MF than he is at CB. There were no real CBs really left out. Killer is justifiably rested, and Thomas is clearly not going to be at Saints much longer (IMHO). Our preferred CBs will be Killer and Davies when fit, with 3 others as back up (Perry, Wotton, Schneiderlin). I don't really think the way JP is doing things can be compared to the stupidity of Burley, at least we have CBs, unlike the start of last season.

Maybe not, but not many teams will not have 7 on the bench. In general its a crap idea, there will now be 4 players in every team not taking any part in a game, instead of the current 2. It means the gap between the top teams and the bottom teams will simply grow wider still...
-
Spiderman now playing CB, with Wotton in MF
-
I know, can we make this a sticky?
-
ok, I guess thats because the Prem teams are allowed 7 this year. Seems a little unfair on the smaller teams. The way things are going clubs will have to have bigger squads just to have half of their players sitting on the bench.
-
Does the League Cup allow 7 subs? Team on the OS suggests it does.
-
Exeter are League Two, so how does that work?
-
Think in both cases, the draw was only partly to do with Champs League, more to do with the fact that both supported Liverpool as kids, as I understand it. This will become more of a factor in years to come as nearly all kids support Liverpool, Arse, Manure or Chelski, and if they become top players with a choice of where to go they will seek out a move to the club they followed as a kid. Bit like when Hoddle left us for Spuds, to return to "his spiritual home", he probably wouldn't have dumped us for any other team.

If you hadn't snipped my post when quoting you would have had the source. Its on the OS, of course some people don't believe a word thats written on the OS but thats another story... Most of these contracts can be checked elsewhere but I can't really be arsed. I tend to take people at face value until proved otherwise. Life is too short to check everything you read when really it doesn't matter much in most cases.
