I'm sure Leon Crouch will be devastated not to have earned your respect. FFS when will twits like you realise that someone is trying their damndest to keep this club going. I can only think oinks like you actually want the club to fold. Still I guess I should not be feeding the troll.

Perhaps he would bring Branfoot back with him
-
Because they can. They can make up the rules to suit their agenda, and there is no legal comeback. When you join a club you agree to abide by their rules. We all know that politicians are corrupt, those involved in football seem to be doubly so...

So its the Southern League for us then

Whereas the BBC has Garth Crooks and the ex Slug Balancer, whoopee. Garth Crooks should stick to singing

He will be good one day given the right management, you know someone good with working with young players, someone like that Pearson bloke at Leicester for instance. He definitely has a lot to learn still and will be OK at CCC level next season, although a season in L1 would probably do him good at this stage. I always doubted his commitment though, he has been linked with moves back to Nottingham before, and personally I will not lose any sleep if he goes. He is not what we need in L1 and isn't so outstanding that we should hang on to him at all costs.

I think we should be called "Bye", one way or another it will be appropriate

Is Fabrice back again? I bet the bracelet will be with his hair band.

Thank goodness for that, one of the most over-rated irritating people around in football these days. Blackpool are welcome to him.

Unfortunately with the CCC being a bit hoof and hope as well, our pretty stuff that we played for the first 3 months or so got us relegated. Don't think l1 is really any worse in terms of style than CCC, only the skill level is lower. Leicester played some good attractive football with a lot of young players brought in on loan by a young English manager with a lot of insight and experience in the English leagues and especially a track record working with young player. They proved that you don't have to play hoof and hope football to get our of L1, but you do need to understand the English game and how to get the best out of youngsters and the loan system. Just hope our remaining Dutch man can learn form someone like NP. BTW haing Sky is not a lot os use for watching League One, so your comments about Sky were about as relevant as the rest of the content of your posts.

You won't be taking a holiday in Devon then. 2 seasons running

Agreed. I think a lot of people on here have read the headline on the Beeb and not much else. Read on everyone. (1) Pinnacle say they are still confident, otherwise they would have packed their bags (2) The deadline is extended till late Monday afternoon (3) Other parties are understood to be still in the running I'm not usually much of an optimist (supporting Saints for 43 years tends to knock optimism out of you) but the headline does not match the report. My reading is simpley that the Pinnacle bid is on the brink of collapsing, not the whole kit and caboodle.

Nah, its Alan Titchmarsh in Cowes

At least one of our players ended the season with a win at Wembley. Another clean sheet as well. Wonder if he will stay with us next term or whether he will move to Torquay permanently. Well done Michael, we really could do worse than keep him as backup to Davis. Not convinced by Tommy or Bart I'm afraid.

Will what happened to us happen to that lot down the road?
VectisSaint replied to PaulSaint's topic in The Saints
I wouldn't wish what is happening to us on anyone, not even the Skates (well maybe I would wish it on Bell End). Strange thing is that ever since our problems really came out in the open and there was a hint that we may fold altogether I have heard nothing but support from people who are Skates around here, inclsuing several I never knew were Skates before. As I've always said, although they are rivals I would still be very happy if Pompey came 3rd in the Prem just as long as we were 1st and Torquay 2nd - now there is optimism for ya. -
No he doesn't. He has a very ordinary record of promoting clubs who have lots and lots of dosh.
-
We already have Dyer and Wright-Phillips for that don't we?
-
Who said anything about pulling it down? You could build a LIDL on the green bit in the middle... Sort of "Middle for LIDL" if you like...
-
Too busy monitoring this board to find out what's happening I would guess

True but I think Stephen Fry is not likely to be our manager, even though he is related to CB.

As I suspected, the rivalry does go back to the very early days, now I know what I suspected was close to the truth. Cheers FF. Far more of a "rivalry" when I started than Pompey were, sadly in the last few years most seem to have forgotten, but some of us still remember the real rivalry that existed, even if it started a little bit before our time.

Lowe makes an even bigger mammary gland of himself...

Surely it would only be irony if it was against S****horpe

I suspect the rivalry goes back to early days as DiS says. When I first started supporting Saints as a nipper in 66 Spurs were the main rivals, Pompey hardly ever got mentioned. The Chivers saga didn't help, but I think that came afterwards. Maybe it goes back even further to the old Southern league days when Spurs and Saints were real rivals for being the top team in the South, I'm not old enough quite to recall those days. But for some to claim there is no rivalry is to not understand our history. Many supporters followed both Saints and Pompey certainly up to the 60s, going to home games alternate weeks, the two teams hardly ever being in the same division, and therefore not really great rivals at all. Whereas for many years we did play Spuds regularly. OK, these days and perhaps since the 20s Spurs would look on the Arse as their bigger rivals (they are local rivals, as opposed to just rivals), Spurs were our real rivals (if not local). The later issues with Lowe and the North London Yobbos events in my mind simply added weight to a long-standing rivalry we had always had.
