  1. Hopefully Dibling will have a better game. If we can adequately replace Manning, Bree and Aribo (the weak links yesterday), and Bednarek is fit, think we could give Man U a decent game. At times yesterday we looked very good going forward, albeit with all the caveats that we were playing against an average Championship team playing a much weakened team. Maybe we will see Welington bombing down the left :-)
  2. You're right, Bath and Bristol would batter us, might be OK against Exeter or Newcastle though.
  3. Well he hasn't conceded any goals for a few weeks now, so here's hoping. 🤔

It really doesn't matter what formation we play the players are basically not good enough, and when your only defensive midfielder is injured you are totally screwed (even though he is not really good enough either).
  5. Where do you get mediocre? With a very few notable exceptions they are poor.
  6. No, RM was the problem, but it is also true that the squad is not good enough, hardly any PL quality players, no manager was likely to turn this cows ear into a silk purse.
  7. Crikey, it's a barrel of laughs on here today. All the tactical geniuses having a melt down.
  8. Of course he has, no one looks like he does otherwise 😉
  9. To be hones, Brett Ormerod would probably walk into our side right now.
  10. We're better than Man City, at least according to 'form' table 😂
  11. Bomber likes Wellington so he does
  12. Exactly, but looked pretty good going forward, was a real plus today. Maybe if he gets played more now he will stick around, clearly did not suit Russ, or Russ didn't suit him. We looked better today, no messing about at the back, but there were still too many sloppy passes, so often we did all the hard (good) work defending and then passed it out straight to a Fulham player. Fortunately Fulham were having an off day and didn't hurt us. Actually thought Wood was decent, likes to play a long ball, which is presumably why RM did not play him much. Dibling having his worst game was maybe not opportune, given Ivan was watching on. He can be so much better than that. Love to know what happened to the Flynn Downes who played for us last year.

No mention of any coaching staff, who will probably find it harder to get visas.
  14. Interesting Rohl thinks people know his history (at Southampton). Have read comments in various places that would suggest even Southampton 'supporters' know the square root of feck all about his history.
  15. Well, we have both been "managed" by Souness. Though questionable if that was a good thing.
  16. Amusing really, how impressions change a year or so on. Charles was rubbished on here last season, though it was obvious to some that he is actually a very decent player. Almost no one here gave a toss about Rohl when he left, claiming he had no influence on Hassenhuttl. Yet here we are, bigging up both (not necessarily you Trousers). I actually don't think Rohl is what we need right now, and I also think it will take a miracle to turn our unfit mediocre squad into gangenpress (or whatever it's called) players. You can't instill fitness like that midseason. Basically we are f***** with the current squad who with a few notable exceptions are simply not good enough for the PL.
  17. Need to be a bit careful with any SR banners.
  18. He did do one thing right.
  19. Do we know who else has gone. Given Rusk is taking training I assume all the coaching staff, but not clear how far that extends.
  20. If only we can get a couple of shots on target, probably low ones.
  21. Of all those mentioned above I'd most like to know about RAMSDALE. I did see Larios in training pics the other day, so that's encouraging 😉
  22. Code for neither of them even making the match day squad.
  23. But where did they get that information that the on-field decision was Armstrong interfering, the linesman simply put his flag up (I think), how can it be told for which player he put his flag up? Or was it the ref that made this call, nothing to do with the linesman? If the on-field decision was Armstrong interfering why did VAR the proceed by looking whether Archer was offside? Surely if the ref said, Armstrong, VAR would have looked first at that incident. It just doesn't make any sense what happened. To be honest its all a complete load of bollocks. Offside was always about whether a forward player was gaining an unfair advantage, and should never have come under the minute scrutiny of VAR. VAR is killing football, not least when it takes 4 or 5 minutes to make a decision. I'm pretty sure that if I were new to football today I would not have fallen in love with the game like I did 60+ years ago.
  24. Was the on-field decision (the lino) for Armstrong interfering, or was it because he thought Archer was offside. I think it was the latter. What no one seems to have mentioned is that the view from behind the goal which was shown just one showed the keeper was at least a yard to the left of Armstrong when he did his little back flick, so from that angle I don't think Armstrong was interfering. I think it was very harsh to give offside once Archer had been declared onside (which was difficult to call live).
  25. Daft, do you think they would have blown the final whistle after the VAR wait if it had been allowed? Quite likely when a team go a goal down they rally, Brighton may well have won if we had gone 2-1 up.
