Stuck between a rock and a hard place. If reports are to be believed the situation is now beyond re-integration so maybe time to cut our losses and cash in. On the flip side, no way we can be seen to give into a tantrum and let him get his own way on this one. Feel for the club on this one... Ideally I'd want him to rot for the entire length of his contract but no chance that happening so make him sweat a little longer. They did a daily month by month review on the website at the end of the season. Hypothetically you could rip each video from the website, join them all together and hey presto you have your season review although I wouldn't condone copyright privacy in any way

I see the situation now as quite similar now to how it's been in my 40 years supporting regardless of what Tottenham have done (no idea why they are relevant to my expectations...) I can easily name 10 clubs both then and now with greater financial clout than us, bigger stadiums, bigger fan base, bigger revenue streams, bigger sponsorship deals, etc. I therefore see us being managed pretty well right now to be punching above our expected weight and hitting the top 10 whilst we will all agree during periods in the past we haven't been managed so well and have dropped below my expectations. Maybe I'm one of those fans you talk of who lacks ambition, maybe I'm just a realist... We could debate the definition of ambition of course, seems yours involves chucking somebody else money at it, the more we spend, the more ambitious we are. I'd argue that it is more ambitious to try and do things a little differently to the rest and we've been pretty successful at that over the last few years....

Top half finish and a cup final.. During my 40 odd year supporting tenure that can be considered a pretty good season. Who moved the expectation goalposts?

I'm on the lookout for any of the free posters that come with the matchday programme for my boy. They only come with the league games and don't really want to buy back issues of all the programmes from games I haven't attended just for the posters. Living in Devon we've concentrated on the cups this year so despite managing 3 Europa, 3 EFL (+ final) & an FA Cup game we've only managed 3 league games so he's only collected 3 posters (Austin, Tadic, Gabbiadini). If anyone out there has any they don't want would gladly pay postage + a few beer tokens for your troubles to take them off your hands and spoil a 9 year old a little more.. Thanks.
