  1. Unfortunately Stern John is the one who missed a great chance to put us 2-0 up against Brum in the league match, missed a good chance to equalise against Blackpool and looked totally inept against Ipswich
  2. We only escaped the trapdoor by 20 minutes last season. With a worse squad, no money to spend and no Jones , Bale or Baird to sell to pay the bills did you really expect anything else?
  3. And Skacel was shiiit in the reserves. Why pick somebody who doesn't give a shiiit as he showed in that performance? He had a point to prove and couldn't be arsed.
  4. No Skacel didn't have the higest level of assists during the playoff season. Skacel had 8 Bale had 9. And to show how meaningless this statistic is Dyer was our leading assister last season. Dyer achieved his 7 assists in just 18 appearances while Skacel had 8 in 39 appearances in our playoff season. If you're using assists to justify Skacel's inclusion then Dyer must play as his assist ratio is far better. It seems the longer a player is out of the team the better he becomes in the fans memories. I remember Oakley improving in peoples estimation while he was out injured but the reality hit home when he recovered and started playing. People were evevn looking forward to Darren Powell recovering from injury last season.
  5. Dead right Pearson had 1 win in his first 9 games despite being able to bring in a host of expensive loan signings
  6. And maybe pressure should be brought to bear on Fulthorpe to tell everybody what he's got and what he intends to do before pressure should be brought to bear on the major shareholders to relenquish their shareholdings for a nominal fee
  7. Have you forgotten Bristol Rovers last season already
  8. It was one of the easiest games on paper last season as well but then we managed to lose 3-2 to 10 men
  9. 1 Soccerbase says 3 goals Palace, Barnsley, Sheff Utd 2 Agree that John played better with Saga than anybody else but John has scored goals wherever he's played. 3 DMG only started 2 games last season how many did you expect him to score? 4 Why can't he continue scoring at his current rate which would make him a 20 goals a season. Why is Saga a 20 goal a season striker in your opinion when he proved in his only full season he wasn't anywhere near it. 5 Pearson was appointed on 18/02/08 and played Plymouth on 20/02/08. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/?s_year=2008&s_month=2&page_id=131&startfrom=90&startfrom=60&startfrom=30 He was on the sidelines waving his arms around. If we had won the game nobody would have discounted the game from his record. 6 There is no 6 7. As you say nobody apart from John scored many last season so why is everybody criticising our lack of goals this season as something new. Rasiak had 8 goals in 26 appearances. 8 I need to get out more
  10. Saga managed a massive total of 3 goals in his 15 starts and 17 sub appearances (probably a similar amount of games as John had without Saga on the pitch). David McGoldrick has 4 goals in 8 appearances this season and theres a lot of people think that isn't good enough. Saga started against Plymouth under Pearson and we lost that game. Under Pearson he scored 1 goal in 10 appearances. Hardly the stuff dreams are made of.
  11. And how many of Pearson's first 5 games did we win? None
  12. And our non-gutsy losers from last season have been forgotten already. If it were only as simplistic as you imply. Play scrappily and we can win 1-0. We played scrappily last season and managed to concede 5 at Preston, Sheff W and Hull. And don't forget Bristol Rovers that was awfully scrappy and we didn't win that one either.

    Chris Perry

Thomas, Ostlund, Powell and Viafara served us so well in those roles last season didn't they
  14. That's what we did last season. Our good experienced pros in the defence last season Ostlund Thomas Dailly & Iffil lost 5-1 at Preston Thomas Dailly Davies & Skacel lost 5-0 at Sheff W Ostlund Powell Thomas & Vignal lost 5-0 at Hull Each of those defeats were far worse than todays at least we were competing today until the appalling offside decision or lack of. But hey let's get the experienced pros back they know when they're beaten and don't waste energy giving 100% when the games already lost
  15. So shrinking violet Leon Crouch allows the Daily Echo to state Saints chairman Leon Crouch has dismissed reports the club has approached Arsenal in a bid to secure an early cash settlement in the Theo Walcott transfer, in order to avoid administration and However, Crouch denied that in a statement today. Why would he make a press statement saysing that he had nothing to say.
  16. Try http://m6live.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/2086821.Saints_deny_Walcott_cash_claims/
  17. Come on Leon Crouch told us all a deal hadn't been done with Arsenal. Are you suggesting he was telling the fans lies?
  18. Has anybody confirmed pulling forward the payments on Walcott. All I remember was Crouch denying it. Was he being economical with the truth or did it happen after he left.
  19. No I can't guess the answer. I give up who?
  20. Thanks for backing my assertion that players leaving for the Premier League is due to the financial malaise in the football World. So why do you think RL should be able to solve it if no one else can. But there again it's easier to have someone to blame than try to understand the problems in keeping players. As for being taken over by people with serious sums of money available to keep the banks and creditors off our back it might have escaped your notice but we lost £5M last season despite selling £16.5M of players. That's a loss of £21.5M on the season. So if we could persuade someone with £21.5M to "invest" we could buy back all our mercenaries and and enjoy another wonderful season like last year.

  22. And your solution to solving the financial malaise in the football world is what? If you can come up with something that ensures players aren't lured away by being offered 5 times the salary they can get here I'm sure you'll become a national hero. Your feeling that monies gained from the sale of the better youngsters will mostly go to debt repayment is stating the bleedin obvious while we are so heavily in debt and the bank is pulling the strings.
  23. I find it difficult to understand that your principles won't allow you support somebody like Lowe but you're quite happy to support someone like Rupert Murdoch
  24. Well who sold £16.5M of the family silver when Rupert Lowe wasn't here last summer. Who put that money in their pocket? Did you boycott SMS then or did you just put it down to the fact every football club in the world sells players and we needed the money to meet the bills. When players are sold under Lowe it's selling off the family silver under anybody else it's OK.
  25. And who do you blame for selling £16.5M worth of players last summer when Lowe wasn't here. Who pocketed that money? Like it or not selling players is something that has to be done to keep the club afloat and the money doesn't go straight to the chairman's bank account like you try to imply.
