  1. Seems a harsh penalty to me though I'm sure I'd feel different if it was the other end
  2. Why does singing support = better support?
  3. Effort?...They were just better players, that's all. Why do people romanticise so much? There was no extra passion...they weren't "playing for the badge". We had a decent manager, good players and absolutely pots of money. It wasn't some sort of golden age. Aside from Nige who has been pretty much a failure everywhere else & Kelvin who was at the end of his career, all those others jumped ship (Lallana & Fonte particularly nastily). All this passion & fight exist only in supporters heads. It's a dream.
  4. JWP absolutely shit today. Trippier showing how corners should be taken.
  5. Interesting one of the people who didn't get to see what was on the piece of paper handed around was the Captain.
  6. Show what? The performance was exactly the same as against Palace other than we took our chances goal wise
  7. Exactly this. Tonight was no better than against Palace other than we took our chances. Our general play this season has been below average with the odd bit of excitement when we actually score a goal. This fictional “fight” and “passion” was no more evident tonight than any other time for the past 5 years or so.
  8. I'd be amazed but stranger things have happened....Anything over £25M would be fantastic.
  9. I still say it was the League Cup Final loss did it for us. That somehow screwed up the players and Puel. Nothing been quite the same since.
  10. Exactly this. I'm not a football man but have been watching for 50 years. I don't care about his technique or his ground covered. He shouldn't be a consistent starter for us nor any other Prem League team. Without his free kicks he's nothing more than a decent squad player used as cover should the regulars be injured/suspended. I don't doubt his love of the club. I don't doubt he's a great guy but he's a bang average player and the fact that he's not in the Diallo role with two other, better midfielders in front of him for selection (as he used to be) is indicative of the team we have become. He might move to another club and totally prove me wrong with better players around him but I somehow doubt it.
  11. Hmm. KWP fortunate there. Didn’t look too different from Casmeiro on Sunday
  12. Or else good strikers are hard to find. Gapko on fire at Liverpool?
  13. Because he's not very good football manager? Yeah..I'd say so. He's not Jimmy Saville.
  14. How is it not?
  15. Because he's a human being who has been subjected to horrendous abuse virtually from day one. It's bullying plain and simple. Why doesn't he walk? Would you when the alternative is a payoff somewhere in the hundreds of thousands of pounds? I wouldn't...I'd just wait for the call from Rasmus.
  16. Why Walcott? He didn’t do anything wrong. Just fashionable to slag him off I guess. Bit like Redmond.
  17. Well one of them does. Tall guy not a fan of winning headers.
  18. With all the hate for Diallo, Jones & Walcott I’m not surprised it’s not been mention how incredibly shit JWP has been today. even if he now scores won’t take away how abysmal he has been. Yet to be one of our trademarked scapegoats.
  19. Not sure why we are so excited about a tall striker. We had one when we got relegated last time didn't we? Or was Crouch not that kind of player? I'm pleased with the signings but I'm just not sure his height will make a difference. Hope I'm wrong but people (not you) excited about a tall guy getting on the end of JWP's deliveries are seriously over-rating JWP's deliveries.
  20. Charlie not been good tonight either. It's not all Diallo. terrible defence and weak midfield & attack. Baffling team selection
  21. One thing I noticed was JWP didn’t take one of the corners. It resulted in a (very weak) shot on target. He took the next one. Went straight to the keeper. It’s not JWP bashing. Just thought it was interesting that we may looking to shuffle the pack a bit with indirect set pieces.
  22. Yep. I thought that. I don't necessarily blame Bazunu for the goal but he had a dreadful game apart from that
  23. He might. These players might be good in the Championship..When did we last have a great transfer window? I'd argue Lavia, Edozie, Calleta-Car, Bella-Kotchap are improvements on what we had. Can't remember four good signings in a window....in my 50 years of watching them. Possibly the start of the Koeman era with Pelle, Mane & Tadic was the last time we ad more than a single successful transfer.
  24. You mean the current owners who are almost up to £100m investment in players? Surely more than any other owner we've ever had in such a timeframe?
