Good to see only one (forced) change to the line up. Good to see a more stable set up.

Merry Christmas from Canada! Only a thin layer of snow on the ground this morning, but it is a white Christmas here in Hamilton! Looking forward to an interesting year following SFC.

Thanks!

That would be awe-inspiring, eh?

Wes: "Why don't I get to wear one of them bras?" Lemina: "Ralph thinks that you are not developed enough yet."

When the u has an umlaut accent above it, it is a bit tricky to pronounce. Closest sound to it in English is "oo". I was taught that you form your lips as though to say "oo", but then try to say the "ee" sound.

Just read "The Horseman" (2017) by Tim Pears. It was given to me by a friend, who lives near to where the book is set--on the border of Somerset and Devon. It's a wonderful novel. It doesn't have much of a plot, but revels in the landscape and natural history of the region. It follows the seasonal rhythms of farm-life in 1911-1912, focusing on a twelve-year old boy--a carter's son--who is obsessed with horses. It's the first of a planned trilogy. The second book, "The Wanderers", was release last January. I'll be reading that one for sure.

Just got "In the Blue Light"--the latest album by Paul Simon. It's an album in which he has re-recorded ten songs from his solo career--less familiar songs, perhaps--that he considers somewhat under-rated, or overlooked. His music has usually had a solid rhythm, based in the rock, R&B, and blues genres. On this album, the arrangements are primarily jazz and classically orientated. It's a more sedate and contemplative sound, which won't appeal to everyone, I suppose.

A Mark Hughes-styled player, then. -
Jo Tessem replacing Dave ("what Saints must not do now") Merrington as commentator today, along with Adam Blackmore.

I would presume it's Yan-keh-vits.

There should be a comma between each "whinge" and "complain". And the text shouldn't align into columns. And the part at the end of each line is not symmetrical with the rest. And there ought to be a semi-colon between each set of "moan, whinge, and complain". Why can't you get it done correctly?

Well, it's not in the south of France, anyway. I would describe it as in the east of France, or the middle, or central-east. But not the south!

That paragraph of JakanorySFC—as he clearly wrote—was a description of Trump's "base". It was not a statement about "the average US voter".

... could instead of couldn't; should instead of shouldn't. Let's call the whole thing off.

He seemed like an old man to me, when I followed the World Cup campaign back in '66. But I was only 13 at the time. Your perspective certainly shifts as you get older!

Another disgraceful display by a South American team at the World Cup. It reminds me of Argentina vs England in 1966. The ref was partly at fault for not cracking down early on and establishing his authority. He lost control and it only encouraged the Colombians to try the familiar tricks of gamesmanship and cheating. A stain, unfortunately, on what has been a World Cup free of most of that type of nonsense.
