  1. Gaston loses the ball yes, but he looks to play difficult incisive passes. A guy near me constantly complains we pass sideways or backwards, but when Gaston tries something going forward that's high risk and it fails, that's not good enough either. He's now caught between a rock and a hard place. He's gonna be the player expected to unlock a defence but when he tries he will be chastised if it fails
  2. This. Surely people can see whether he has a good or average game as a side we are totally transformed
  3. They can't deal with the long ball....
  4. Townsend has done his hamstring. Definitely out for Sunday looking at that
  5. If Carlton Cole can look a handful to this spurs defence as he has done, Lambert should have a field day
  6. Richard Wright? It has taken me a while Turkish but I think I finally understand you. Now I find the things you write funny rather than utterly frustrating. Any goalkeeper who doesn't offer up 2-3 chances on average to the opposition would be great.
  7. I want more of these player a vs player b threads. It means we have cover and competition. Both Lambert and Osvaldo are equally important and offer different qualities. When we have a Lovren vs..... or a Shaw vs ....., or a Lallana vs ....., Boruc vs...... this forum will go into meltdown but the club will be in a great position.
  8. ^^ this for me too!
  9. See what you're saying, counter theory is neither walcott or podolski do tracking and defending particularly well. So if we have more of the ball (the difficult bit at the emirates) in the right areas of the pitch our full backs could be more attacking than defending Sent from my HTC One S using Tapatalk 2
  10. Manufacturing wars for no good reason is not a new thing. The first Anglo Afghanistan war in 1839 being a prime example.
  11. As you know, that was my point! Neither question is ridiculous! 4th for me on this particular question but 8th and a cup win on the other ridiculous one.
  12. True that it is. Would you accept the cup win and 6th or 4th? Another straightforward hypothetical question.
  13. Anyone else heard about the development down at town quay to create a gum wharf style area, top hotel included, moving the ferry terminal away and having a monorail from the centre of town to the water? Seems far fetched but much needed
  14. Almost all I have spoken to have been shocked by how good he actually was, but more so that he just absolutely loved playing (and scoring) for England. My concern is that with him being the latest golden boy and the UK loving to build people up to knock them down.
  15. Christ that's smart! I thought it must have been really frustrating for him. He got virtually no service, but looked decent at shifting it half a yard and hitting it. Poch is going to have to get the dynamic right there. Regarding the game I think we still miss players who can commit players. Sunderland particularly but Norwich too were drilled and organised, lallana tried to, but with fox and chambers as full backs we were pretty static. I agree with smirks, we don't play wingers as such. But if the full backs dont provide the width we need something else. Redmond occupied and committed two saints defenders each time he got the ball and caused problems.
  16. He did at Bristol Rovers behind Kuffour, and I think he started off as a midfielder.
  17. In Venezuela working, just got up and assessing the wi fi situation in the lobby. The Caracas chicas will have to be put on ice til after the game
  18. To be honest flight prices won't vary much according to the time of year. Direct flights vary between about 500-700. I use skyscanner.net to get an idea
  19. All of a sudden we have started to play and create chances. Three one up now.
  20. Should be three one up, trying to be a bit too clever and hit the bar
  21. The dont like his attitude criteria rules out a number of very good strikers - Ronaldo, Rooney, Osvaldo, Ballotelli, Tevez, Anelka, Zlatan, (even Cantona if you go back far enough). Rather bizarrely if each one of them when treated in their own very specific way, have long periods of "quiet" times where they are just very good players. We just notice and remember the misdemeanors. Clearly Osvaldo is having a tough time in an environment I am not sure we understand, and he is not helping himself but that seems to be just his character. Question is how good does he have to be to make any shady behaviour acceptable? Or is it never acceptable?
  22. That's what I'm talking about!
  23. There are a few more verses, but if we can get st marys booming out some Swahili I would be happy and it would surely rank as one of the most original songs ever.
  24. The song in Swahili "jambo bwana" would welcome him nicely. Thinking about it, replace that with "victor wanyama", which works, and you've got a song for him already.
