  1. Maybe we should have taken tadic off at 60 mins every game??
  2. I kinda agree. However without Davis in that advanced role we are failing to create too many chances for whatever reason.
  3. Can Gardos play after being sent off Tuesday? I hate the idea of Toby not at the back, I dont like the idea of the Mane/Long/Pelle front three which hasnt worked either.Lets get Davis back in the attacking midfield role, and Tadic on the left where he started the season so well. I am not a fan of Yoshida but Toby is the only player available that can transition the play anywhere near as well as Morgan and thats what has brought our full backs into play so well - we have missed this in the previous games. He also gives us strength. Having said that for me its: Forster Clyne Fonte Yoshida Bertrand Toby JWP Davis Long Pelle Tadic Subs: Davis, Mane, Mayuka, Reed, Targett, Seager, McQueen/Isgrove
  4. On my list of possibles in Europe (with contracts expiring) Centre back/Right back = Schar (Basel) Attacking midfieder = Firmino, Gourcuff, Yarmolenko, Konoplyanka, Ayew Centre Forward = Babacar (Fiorentina)
  5. Exactly. Mildly disappointed Reed isn't starting but that's an attacking side. This game will be very different to the villa game - Mata, Rooney, van persie aren't going to stay behind the ball.
  6. I thought he looked close to his best again on Wednesday, but failed to score.
  7. Horatia on Holloway road, decent craft beers and boozer with plastic mugs the downside
  8. I'm gonna look at this another way.... If spurs don't win now that's even more pressure on poch
  9. Spurs one down. Great goal by bojan
  10. We were news when we were producing the England "elite" (who barely made an appearance in the World Cup. And we were news when we were selling our players left, right and centre. These types of journalists are looking for the extremes to write about and we went from complete stability to the other extreme in a very short amount of time. We have stablised again, at least for now. The main point about being the "Class of '92" is a remarkable and highly improbable occurrence in my opinion. You really cant emphasize how different financially things were back then. The players who have left wanted one or two of the following : a) Champions League Football b) more money than we could afford. They wanted this over being a vital part in a first team. This is washed over. Maybe if we could offer one, the players would have stayed. The headlines in the article I struggle to argue with though: Southampton have a history of selling their best players - agreed we have a long list, caveat being most teams do (Ronaldo from United, Suarez from Liverpool, Fabregas from Arsenal) Ronald Koeman is doing a fantastic job after the summer exodus - correct Southampton could have propelled themselves into the higher echelons of English football as Man United did two decades ago - Samuel spells decades "deceades". Speculative, we have as much chance as before in my opinion Instead Financial Fair Play has left them vulnerable to likes of Liverpool - Liverpool who are being investigated under the FFP rules. Add Madrid, United, Barca, City, Bayern, Chelsea to the list we are "vulnerable" to Southampton are currently second in the Barclays Premier League - FACT! New signings Graziano Pelle and Dusan Tadic have started well - Agreed Southampton can't afford to sell more players in bulk next summer - Agreed, we probably couldnt get away with it again though I would hope calmness would remain this time Nathaniel Clyne, James Ward-Prowse, Jay Rodriguez and Morgan Schneiderlin will interest other clubs - Hope so, means they are all performing
  11. I like to include wages too, so the overall package if you like and the main reason why the Balotelli or even now Wellbeck was "only £4m more" argument has to be dismissed.
  12. You're absolutely right. Why do any of us bother to go on.
  13. Yep that's pretty much the point I was making. That our situation is not too dissimilar to last year regarding being relegated
  14. I agree we are 1-2 injuries away from having problems. Then again I thought that last year!
  15. That can't be right, he doesn't jump!!!!
  16. I agree we may miss lallana, though there were plenty of games last season we had the majority of the ball but couldn't unlock defences. It's still something that needs to be addressed
  17. But the year before for the same fixtures we are a point better off. That's why its a ridiculous comparison. I'm guessing if you're expecting all our results to be exactly the same as last year you'll be disappointed. Every season the slate is wiped clean.
  18. It didn't need to happen. Relentlessly repeating the fact it didn't need to happen doesn't have to happen either. Alderweireld would start I would imagine. Can cover right back. Along with a winger/link player that would be decent.
  19. Perhaps but he has the number 4 shirt at villa. Anything like this webby?
  20. Two games. Just two.
  21. Koeman did say we were poor, which we were and I thought he could shoulder some of that blame too. Poor movement all over the pitch and lacked ideas when you take the game on its own. However saying we are shyte, jeering pelle, condemning the season after two games I'd class as pathetic moaning as may z put it.
  22. Valid point. I'd hope the new guys eclipse the contribution of osvaldo, guly and sharp. Add two more as is suggested and the regular match day squad is enlarged
  23. If Koeman decided Forster was number one, I can understand the Boruc frustration and sympathise. Boruc was the best keeper we have had for a long time and he probably knows it. Surely though he keeps quiet, knuckles down, works hard and waits for Forster to either make a mistake or get injured. Then he steps in to reclaim the shirt and keeps it until that cycle repeats itself. If that doesnt happen and he is dropped instantly again then fair doos, complain and leave the club in January. We have had ONE game and he is already kicking off, had he kept quiet time would have afforded him far more support to his cause. 10-15 games into the season would have been a far better time to vocalize his grievances. The only similar case at the moment is Cech. I would expect him to adopt a more dignified and professional approach.
  24. One of the finest misinterpretations I've seen on this board
  25. This thread was started six days ago, which was the first most of us heard about it. SIX DAYS. We are no different than any other club, or business when handing over millions of pounds.
