I never used to hate them... or Bournemouth for that matter - I always thought of myself as a south coast fan (but Saints were, and always will be 'my team') Now I can't stand Portsmouth for a few reasons - 1. Because they hate us. 2. TCWTB. 3. Robbin' cheating, charity stealing scum, 4. Because I work there (city, not the club!) As for Bournemouth, considering the amount of friendlies we played to help them out, and players loaned over the years, they conveniently forget all that and just want to be Pompey's little brother. All this **** waving about who has the best fans based on attendance is rather pointless, as it is hard to come up with a decent set of criteria that both sides would find acceptable. My one word on the subject is this: What would you rather have at the start of the season?: 19,000 for a one off (and cheap) friendly, and ~15,000 full payers for league matches* or, 6,000 for a cheap friendly tournament (where you don't actually see you team play a full 90mins vs another team) and then 25,000 full payers for league matches* * = ignoring concessions, freebies, kids, etc.
