Even Ralph admitted he got it wrong today!
-
So - last week was just the keepers fault, this week just better opposition(I agree they are better but no need to surrender from minute one) Does the manager ever get to take any responsibility.
-
Stick to PlayStation mate, the real game does not work like that
-
So not the other players who did not score when we were on top, or the defenders who did not stop the chances, or the manager for not reacting to their changes and some bizarre changes. Just the keeper.
-
Listened to Solent and big Dave kept saying in the first half that Norwich would change tactics at half time. They did and Merington laid the blame at Ralph's door for not reacting and losing the game. One of his big weaknesses is not countering opposition changes or seemingly even noticing them.
-
I think we should have a whip round to help you on your way, now that would make Southampton a better place. One less tosser.
-
Got to say as one of his critics that he seems to be learning, the changes tonight were spot on and helped us win the game. Changing to three at the back was needed and stopped villa from creating chance after chance. Fair play to Ralph, keep it up.

The unknowns are the players people are saying we would but with the money.
-
Stunning how easily people want to get rid of one of our most consistent performers. Last season he was un-droppable now after six games people want rid to be replaced by some unknowns. Weird.

Lived in Weston till early twenties, loved it with the parks and shoreline all the way to Hamble. The city centre with the parks etc is not as bad as it's painted. Have a lot of friends who visit us who love the city. Now live in Landford in the forest and love that too, all in all Southampton and surrounds is a great place to live. New family moving in near us have just bought Hamptworth estate and subsequently the golf course. Not confirmed who but the name coming up most are members of the Mittal family, wonder if they like football?

That's where we will have to disagree, I don't think we have created many clear chances this season. It was telling on Sunday how Armstrong dropped back and wide to get the ball. I think it is easy to blame the forwards but, in my opinion, our formation and poor no 10's are just as much to blame. Frequently the transition from defence to attack is so slow we are facing ten men when we attack which them makes it hard to create clear chances. Hopefully the team are still learning Armstrong's movement and he is still learning how the team play so things may improve in time.

I don't think we have been creating good quality chances so far this season, the stats may say we have created a fair few chances but on Sunday for instance very few good chances were created On a different subject I do find it strange that judging Ralph after three years is 'knee jerk' but writing a player off after six games is fine.
-
Sorry don't agree with that at all I think that Perraud has been ok and is better going forward than KWP on the left. It is also a bit of a thing for Ralph to play players out of position. A trait that I don't think helps at all. Also playing KWP with Redmond in front of him nullified that whole side as an attacking threat.
-
Exactly this, it is his inability to play to the players strengths and continue to try and shoehorn players into his preferred formation that gets to me. On Sunday our entire left side were cutting back on as they were so right footed. A good manager would look at what was available and play to what he had.

This is more too the point, it is not reactionary after this one result. Our performances over the last year have been bad, and before that we had not exactly say the game on fire with our results apart from one period. They say that it is madness to keep doing the same thing and expect different results. I am yet to be convinced after almost three years that Ralph knows how to fix things or mould the way we play to best match the players we have.
-
Sorry but I think the formation is all wrong and maybe he got the subs right in the last couple of games but reverted to type today.
-
He just never learns, this stupid 4:2:2:2 formation has not worked for a year. Also never makes a sub till we are behind. Please resign.
-
Not arguing with that, just think people need to give the lad time, it's hard just changing jobs, let alone moving country etc. We are not in a position to buy to quality all the moment so have to buy projects some will work some won't. Just don't see writing someone off after one saints game.
-
Stupid comment, new club, new country, give the lad a chance, it's comments like this that make me sure you are a dickhead.
-
Sorry but Redmond is reliable but over the years he has been here it is reliably poor. No way should he start, bench player at best.
-
Gave him grief for not being proactive and rubbish subs, got it right today. Hope this is a real change and he carries on this way.
-
Don't know what kind of center half people think would come in and single handedly fix our defensive issues. I am not sure even VVD would do that. We concede goals because of the team formation and structure, and shit keepers. Also center halves work as pairs maybe two of the ones we have will gel into a good partnership.
-
I still think that the defenders we have are not the real problem, it's the stupid system that leaves the defense exposed.
-
This is it exactly, it's not about him not making subs, even when he does he just puts new people in the same formation that is being beaten, and ends up with Djnepo at left back.
