What a load of crap, the 4-2-2-2 got sussed two years ago and the rigid way we stick to it makes us very easy to play against, unless we get hazard and De Brune to play the number 10s then we create nothing and leave big gaps at the back. Need to ditch this and the playbook and be more adaptive.

Will season ticket prices be released now and will you renew?

So two teams fighting relegation that are trying to score and win a game, who would have thought you could do that🤔

I'm not sure this has been a problem with the way we have played recently, last night he only started two of the young ones. I think we have been very badly let down by our more established played who have been mainly crap all season.

Absolutely spot on, a manager's job is to look at the squad and play a system that suits and gets the best out of them. Selles seems content to pick the same players in the same formation that has failed to work in quite a while, a lot of which he has witnessed. And to keep saying players, particularly one who most of us know can't tackle, is good against the ball and blocking lanes is really starting to get on my wiggle.

Maybe give the lad a few games at least before writing him off completely. He can hardly do worse than most of our strikers and has to be better than starting with no striker at all, we held them for forty mins but never looked like scoring, what a crap way to play when you have limited games left and need four or five wins.
-
Any manager worth the name would look at the players available a pick a system that suits and gets the best out of them, playing the same players in the same system that has not worked for this and last season is not too my mind great management.

Fonte has to be up there with one of the best of recent times.

Three started goalkeeper,,ABK and Lavia, still not many.

No that's what I said probably not what we needed, but getting that finished article is expensive and then not guaranteed to work.
-
I think people's expectations of a 20 year old that had moved club and country are a bit weird. It's not his fault that he's not quite the finished article that our situation needed. He deffo needs some work but has all the raw material needed. I know we don't have the time for that this year but again that's not his fault but at least he is prepared to try going past players, would be happy if some of the passess to him were into space behind the defence instead of behind him.

Not sure I know what 'good against the ball' even means in this case as the man can't tackle, absolute waste of a shirt.

Home and had chance for a medicinal brandy, not much to say really, some say the fans were quiet but after seven seasons of crap I'm not surprised. As for Ralph MK2 he had succeeded in making us as boring and predictable as we were before always with the first choice to turn and go back, we are simply not good enough to beat eleven men every attack, alien Lucy and diallo are just so bad. I was hoping the manager having seen this crap all year might have other plans.

Give them time, they will have their best players picked off and be fighting to stay up soon enough. Then see how they feel.

Good to see that he changed the system today and thought we looked better.

Spot on, not the game most of us fell in love with.

For background I have been a fan for over fifty years and a season ticket holder for almost forty. During that as a saints fan I have seen many lows and a couple of highs. This is probably the lowest I have felt about my club and the game in general. It has now been almost seven seasons of home poor performances, can't be bothered to check but sure we have not had a good home season since koeman. As a result the atmosphere is rubbish and the crab like rubbish(hate 4:2:2:2) that we play leaves us exposed at the back and in midfield whilst creating nothing. Then you have VAR, you can't even celebrate a goal now, you have to wait to see if a nose hair is offside and refs looking at still shots of incidents to make decisions, the game is played at speed. Then the money in the prem is killing the game, clubs now owned by states, how do other clubs compete, any club outside the rich few is in danger of relegation. Last night as usual I went along mainly now to meet my brother and mates, poor crowd for a 5th round but who can blame people, and you saw a crap formation poor players and no heart or fight at all I think I will only renew if we go down, time to go to a division where we may get our soul back or at least win some games. Lastly what can we fans do about things, again clubs are now owned by people so remote from the area what we do makes little difference, gone are the days like the Branfoot or Lowe days, these days the money comes from places other than us, not sure our voice counts anymore. Sorry for the rant but the cat buggered off when I got home so couldn't even kick him.

I remember playing 4:3:3 with koeman and the striker was never isolated.

Not sure I share your faith. I think win lose our draw today most of the team would have changed for Grimsby. I also think he will revert to similar for Leicester, my issue is that I think this squad has proved they are not suited to that formation, so you need to pick a formation to suit what you have. For the record I think keeping the manager till the end of the season was the only sensible option, just think he need to move away from trying to out Ralph Ralph.
-
Just cannot understand why you would start by playing the same format and most of the same players that failed doing it for a year under Ralph, surely you would expect the same results.
-
Really, he was about to be taken off just before the goal, great finish but did not do much else in the game.

Someone take his shoe laces away, he's making up shit to be depressed about now.
