  2. My thoughts go out to the families and fans The saddest news
  3. With the diamond you seem to dominate possession at the expense of cutting edge. yesterday my team played a 3-5-2. Dominated the game, but only scored one goal. I changed to 4-diamond-2 to close the game out. I can be more aggressive with 2 central upfront
  4. Boeman
  5. Jay Rod, Gardos and Austin
  6. We had one of those games. All teams have them. It's how we bounce back that's important.
  7. As disappointed as I am that Saints lost, I see it merely as a blip. Hull had 2 chances on target and scored both. We had 17 chances. You get games like this every season. We were the better team. We weren't clinical. We didn't finish them off. The players must be tired. We'll probably go on now and beat Liverpool. Football is a funny old game as we all know.
  8. I find it incredible how people can criticize Forster????
  9. In a short space of time Puel has done excellent work. I don't share any criticism aimed at Puel for our lack of finishing. This comes down to the players. Puel will be working extremely hard on the training pitch to improve the players, but finishing is an art and very much down to confidence. The players must take the responsibility. The quality of finishing will improve with player improvement and this takes time. Redmond will be playing for England shortly, along with JWP.
  10. There is a set pattern to Puel's rotation. Boufal will be on the bench along with Jay Rod, Austin will start. You can't rush Boufal. Clasie will start as he's fresh.
  11. In my opinion Charlie Austin's goal was wrongly disallowed. That's level.
  12. Couple of things I noticed today. Whilst the warm up was the same it wasn't at the usual intensity or discipline. I think it was taken by a different coach. Alot of the players before the game looked tired. Chelsea are the real deal and their supporters were fantastic. Our support wasn't as vocal. The referee once again seemed to side with the bigger club and didn't give yellow cards to Chelsea when clearly they were warranted.
  13. Back from the game and had a really great day out. Arrived at 10:30am and left at 19:00. Got my sons shirt signed by every player and really enjoyed my Pukka pies as well as 2 pints of Doombar. So we lost to the better team. Chelsea scored early and we tried hard, but couldn't get through their blockade. They had 2 chance first half and scored. Eden Hazard was exceptional today, his movement caused us so much trouble. The second seemed to end the game, but we kept going and made some good chances that we just couldn't convert. We didn't achieve our very high standards and yes the players looked tired. We lost to an excellent Chelsea team. I won't lose any sleep over our performance and already looking forward to Thursday. We March On.
  14. This is a benchmark game for us.
  15. The top teams know how good Southampton are and Chelsea will not be relishing coming to St Mary's this weekend. I believe Puel is a better tactician than Koeman, but I think we're all missing the point. The thing that makes Southampton is the backroom staff. Yes we have a master tactician, but its more than that.
  16. Puel still vacant for most of the game from the touchline. SaintRobbie how can you write such a ridiculous statement. I spent a lot of the match watching Claude Puel. He has got our team playing fantastic football. He orchestrated from the touchline. Claude is a quiet man who doesn't rant and rave like lesser coaches, but make no mistake the players who played yesterday new exactly their positions, responsibilities and roles in the team. This performance with clinical finishing could been 10-1. Anyone who still is in doubt about Redmond please count his touches and influence in our team. Yes he isn't clinical, but he also isn't the finished article. If you complained about the colour of his car then I would agree with you.
  17. Sam McQueen deserves to start. Rest Bertrand for Sunday
  18. A gentleman next to me said he didn't rate Redmond. I said let's count the number of times he touches the ball in the second half. After 3 minutes he had touched the ball 12 times. Redmond is an exceptional player and is by no means the finished article. We have a gem on our hands. Well done to Sam McQueen. When your chance comes you have to take it. Sam was fantastic today and looked like he'd been playing at left back all season. So I met my new hero after the game. A quiet man of few words. Very polite and very unassuming. Where he speaks volumes is on the playing field. Claude Puel that second half was impressive. Les Reed continues to pull rabbit a out of hats. Up to 8th
  19. If Targett is unavailable, I think we could see Martina playing left back and Cedric right back.
  20. Unbelievable Romeu 3 blocks in front of goal
  21. Batman can you run me through how to get sportnation as I'm an IT idiot
  22. Can I watch a stream on iPhone or iPad?? HELP!!!!
  23. Shame how people so easily right off players. Somewhat disrespectful. Remember him performing very well against Arsenal and Man United. Thoroughly nice guy and very determined. I won't right him off yet.
  24. Redmond is a terrific player. He isn't the finished article, but if you take the time to study his movement, then you see why he is so dangerous. Petulant sometimes, but this boy is gonna be sensational. It's early day, but Les Reed you've reinvented Southampton again.
  25. Been looking at two future possibilities. HBA and The return of Schneiderlin. Watch both windows in the coming year.
