  1. Excellent reply and I agree with your reasoning. Look at the final corner from WBA and how Sims allows his opposition player to make an unopposed flick on which leads to a chance that should be buried. Jay-Rod, Caceras or Gardos would have helped more with experience and height. We rode our luck for last 10 mins
  2. Whilst I'm as ecstatic as anyone to beat WBA let's not gloss something that glares out certainly to me. The substitutions and bench do raise questions. I think we've seen in previous games what happens when you substitute JWP. Reed for Clasie I accept. Perhaps even McQueen for Redmond, but Sims when you know there gonna throw everything at you?? Why not Caceras? And even more obvious to me is why not Gardos on the bench, he's our tallest player or Jay-Rod as he has better heading ability. Instead we send in the midgets and very fortunately survive the onslaught. Sorry not intelligent
  3. Gallagher, Romeu, Bertrand, Van Dijk.... You just got to applaud and be proud it's your team
  4. Austsaint it's a procession not a sprint at Southampton Alfie Jones, JWP, Stephens, McQueen, McCarthy, Sim, Hesketh.... Redmond, Cedric. We make the finished article. We give them the safe environment to develop into top players. The Southampton Way
  5. Angelman you've nailed it.
  6. If we want to play to our strengths then let's play 3-5-2. Caceras suits the back 3, Jay-Rod and Long up upfront. Wing backs Cedric and Bertrand. Midfield triangle of Romeo (holding) with JWP and Davis
  7. Having witnessed what Gabiadini brings to our team it's hard to go back to the misfiring JayRod and Long (however much I like them). These players playing off a player like Lambert or Pelle are ideal, but Puel doesn't like to play to the players strengths, instead preferring to shoehorn players into his system. The future can be bright, but I fear stubbornness and inflexiblilty could send us backwards, if players inevitably walk away at the end of the season.
  8. Some of us invest a lot of money to watch the Saints. Sometimes we want to enjoy that feeling of a fist pumping victory. Not holding on against Bournemouth. Sometimes rather than great combination play and good solutions I want to enjoy some goal and a victory. I want to be entertained! A 4-3 a 5-2. Not a 0-0 against a team we should be beating ar home with the quality of our squad. Yes sometimes Inwant my expectations met.
  9. So fed up not to see Saints win after spending £500 to come and watch them. This year I've seen Saints win once out of 10 matches and I can safely say I'm fed up with them. I miss Pelle, Mane, Schneiderlin, Koeman.... I really missed Gabbiadini and Van Dyke. Watched the match on Match of the day and there was no surprise that they missed the disallowed goal and never questioned the harsh penalty decision or the biased refereeing. I lost interest today and that's sad. What a bunch of mercenaries getting paid a fortune. I don't see the spirit of Southampton on the pitch. The players all seem to be moaning at each other. My Son showed me a possible starting 11 for next season. How many players will try and leave the sinking ship?
  10. Boufal's body isn't strong enough. Come next season he will light up the Premier league.
  11. Jansson Wimmer dendockner and Fabian Schär and billing and sigurdsson and Veloso are all targets i know
  12. Sadly Fonte lives in a professional footballers bubble. Completely out of touch reality. I try and take care of my family in ways you will never understand Mr Fonte! It's known as the real world.
  13. With Gabbiadini all the pieces start to fit in the offensive positions. We are entering a new era for Saints. This is an extremely talented group of players. Enjoy the ride
  14. Very good interview by Puel and his English has improved. Even had some humour. He's excited by this squad and so am I
  15. I'm predicting 21 points and finishing eighth. I'm not sure people realise how good this team is.
  16. It's about getting a rhythm and he absolutely correct. As a trainer it is very difficult keeping the players focused.
  17. Anybody who thinks JWP hasn't kicked on this season is blind. Right in a 4-2-3-1 is perfect for him with the speed of Cedric. He's an exceptional player and now very highly regarded in the game. First England cap is just around the corner.
  18. I think it's important to play the same team. Caceres must wait his turn. I'm not happy with Forster, but I know too little about Hassen to change our keeper. Stability
  19. Incredible day. Incredible performance. Incredible support. Sadly the decisions and luck always seems tipped towards the bigger clubs. The future looks bright!
  20. Didn't Chris Baird make his debut in the FA cup?
  21. Well if you want to play at a higher level this is the type of transfer window needed I like his thinking
  22. Norwich - Great club and really friendly supporters
  23. My son (11 years old) has been working hard on his in's and out's this summer Defence: in Schär and Wimmer because they are not getting game time and are talents Out: Gardos Midfield: Sigurdsson and Wylan Cyprien - Sigurdsson is tall and one of the best, Wylan Cyprien plays at Nice and is strong and passing amazing physical good Out: Clasie too small and weak Attack: Mariano from Real Madrid looks like a talent Out: Jay Rod or Austin
  24. Shame we can't buy an EFL replica shirt for the occasion
