What a fantastic YouTube tribute - one of the best premiership keepers for sure. How about some of that defending?!

Is the Premiership the promised land for the Saints?
Redondo Saint replied to Long Shot's topic in The Saints
Agreed, but.. the premiership is even more dominated by mega money, average premiership players cost 6 million and want 40k per week, and ticket prices are very high. It's not sustainable without huge backers. Is promotion followed by immediate relegation a fun season? -

trouble is, there are not many opportunities to join them, let alone beat them. -
trying to stop this thread would be like trying to shut the stable door after the horse has Balti-ed.

The game has changed since Sky bought Div 1, and has now further changed since it has become a plaything for billionaires. Personally I would prefer the top 5 wealthiest clubs to bugger off and join a world super league. The rest can then go back to normal, but let's have some limits to how much can be spent on players wages, transfers, etc. In other words, take the game back to being a sport, where any team on its day can beat any one - maybe that's where we are today and accept the Premiership is a roller coaster ride unless you are owned by a billionaire? Who knows, maybe supporting non league would be more enjoyable. -
It would appear that M Prost is helping out in France, but where else/who else is scouting in UK and elsewhere? Who recommended Gerrard from Walsall to us?
-
I wonder what the tickets will cost next season..... I truly would not want to have 'my' team owned by a multi multi billionaire. This is when the club becomes the 'global merchandising vehicle'! Admittedly, It would be good to have a little more money than we currently enjoy

this thread will put me in to a korma.

Great point. I would also add that Saturday afternoons are also about meeting your friends, a few beers and a laugh, and then the match. A few more beers afterwards.. Miss all this because of the Chairman? I don't think so. I've moved away from God's country so I have to miss it - and it's a big loss to me.

You're right. I don't get the point of the 'stay away' fans. Everyone's opinion is allowed, thankfully they are the minority. Leaving my golf club after 40 years because I don't like the Club Captain would not be something I would do - but we are all different.
-
Perhaps this thread is too difficult for you to grasp?

You've missed my point. Distance preventing fans attending games is not the debate. I live in California and only make 4 or 5 games per season. The refusal to attend home games due to the board changes is the issue. Affording the cost of attendance is for each fan to decide, however, there appears to be some that refuse to support the team for another reason - something I find odd.
-
I quite agree, but you are clearly making the decision based on politics not financial. Frankly, SFC is better off without you.
-
Bally was 5'6"!! Scholes is 5'7" In this position height isn't the main criteria.
-
Shame on those 'fans' that alllow politics to influence their attendance. This team are worthy of support by their commitment and work rate. Oh, and by the sound of it, bloody good to watch. Can you imagine this scenario without the changes - on and off the pitch?
-
where's Alpine?!
-
let's use reverse psychology and cheer KP....

Saints sign young Czech striker Tomas Pekhart on loan from Spurs
Redondo Saint replied to Wildgoose's topic in The Saints
No, I was thinking about tonights game. If we lose I am sure the doom and gloom merchants will be out to play again! In the short term, I don't care about the stock exchange, let's keep the focus on the team. -

Wait until later tonight!! -
I am thinking more along the lines of goal poacher/striker, rather than MLT. Sheringham, Shearer, Aldridge, Rush - these types of players. Others?
-
Let's get a 'finishing' coach. It's clear we are creating the chances, There must be some great retired strikers that could do a job for us....
-
Fantastic! listening to Sky via the net it sounds like we were excellent! Nice to hear MLT acknowledge the win! Where's Alpine?

What, Germany, Czech Rep, Italy, Slovenia, Slovakia and Hungary?
