Redondo Saint replied to StuRomseySaint's topic in The Saints
Pleased the guy will make it through, but hopefully the truth will prove this was not a bunch of Saints fans having a pop at a Cardiff fan... SHAME ON THE ECHO FOR IMMEDIATELY BLAMING SAINTS FANS! -

It still doesn't look right to me that someone other than a more rounded player, is wearing the number 7...................

Rubbish? Is yours the only voice of reason? In reality you are agreeing with me, in that the Echo changes its opinion to whatever view will increase sales. Typically, Alpine has sided with the view of negativity.
-
or the editors and the expense of the club?
-
The Echo is crap. They have been negative about Saints for ages. Some people need to wake up and realise the Echo is cashing in on the problems we have in the hope they sell more papers. There is a vendetta with Lowe and the Echo editor (who is as egotistical as Lowe). Don't mistake the papers agenda - sell more copies.

Who will you support if Saints go really under ?

I am not in the least surprised this thread has been started by you. Whe question does not deserve an answer. -
Controversial post alert - ignore if you like Lowe

I totally agree with you. It's clear RL can't be a long term Chairman at SFC (I doubt he wants to be!) but without long term new ownership and long term financing forcing him out would be another big mistake for this club. I will be glad to see him go, but let's have a viable plan first. -
Here are the best of Strachan's Sky Sports funnies... Reporter: Welcome to Southampton Football Club. Do you think you are the right man to turn things around? Stracham: No! I was asked if I thought I was the right man for the job and I said, "no, I think they should have got George Graham because I'm useless!" Reporter: Is that your best start to a season? Strachan: Well I've still got a job so it's far better than the Coventry one, that's for sure. Reporter: Are you getting where you want to be with this team? Strachan: We're not doing bad. What do you expect us to be like? We were eighth in the league last year, in the cup final and we got into Europe. I don't know where you expect me to get to. Do you expect us to win the Champions League? Reporter: Gordon, you must be delighted with that result? Strachan: You're spot on! You can read me like a book. Strachan: I've got more important things to think about. I've got a yogurt to finish by today, the expiry date is today. That can be my priority rather than Agustin Delgado. Reporter: This might sound like a daft question, but you'll be happy to get your first win under your belt, won't you? Strachan: You're right. It is a daft question. I'm not even going to bother answering that one. It is a daft question, you're spot on there. Reporter: Bang, there goes your unbeaten run. Can you take it? Strachan: No, I'm just going to crumble like a wreck. I'll go home, become an alcoholic and maybe jump of a bridge. Umm, I think I can take it, yeah. Reporter: There's no negative vibes or negative feelings here? Strachan: Apart from yourself, we're all quite positive round here. I'm going to whack you over the head with a big stick, down negative man, down. Reporter: where will Marion Pahars fit into the team line-up? Strachan: Not telling you! It's a secret. Reporter: You don't take losing lightly, do you Gordon? Strachan: I don't take stupid comments lightly either.

did you March?

I love this total Dutch football..........

That was a great attendance for Norwich - over 25,000 on a Tuesday!

I agree. Those that wish to stand and sing for 90 mins go ahead. There is no defined set of rules for behavior at SMS, other than it must be lawful. I also think that sitting down and saying little, it better than standing up and moaning about the manager, board and tactics during the game.
-
What happened? Baird hardly gets a game and Bale is clearly off his game.
-
Remind me again, as I have forgotten how much better off this club was after getting rid of Lowe the first time. Unless we can replace him with someone that has major investment funds, are we not making the same mistake twice?
-
would you accept administration if it meant Lowe left?
Redondo Saint replied to The Fat Controller's topic in The Saints
NO Some people need to look at the big picture rather than personal hate. -
Buying the club is the least of the issues - it is servicing the debts and generating income to cover the overhead. Keep in mind Lowe has a relatively small shareholding.
-
and be replaced by? this is the problem.

I am flying back to LA tomorrow and could not be arsed to go to SMS today. This is the first time I have missed a home game when over and feel somewhat guilty. I just did not think it would be a pleasurable experience - looks like I was right - or was I?

Time for some good old fashioned name dropping

used to see and chat sometimes to Shilts at the Clump late '80s. Always drank Guinness and read Sporting Life. Bally was always polite and easy to talk to when he drank in the Jolly Farmer Warsash. Real gent. Still play footy (46) every week and played last Saturday with Rod Stewart in an England V Scotland game to celebrate his birthday!! (Rod is a huge mate of WGS and really rated MLT). Rod's played for this club for about 15 yrs. He gives us free tickets when he performs in LA. Also played last year against Frank Le Bouef and he remembered his first game for Chelsea was at the Dell!! (1-1). Great thread! -
Do you really think that for the past 2 yrs or so, everyone has been sat on their arses waiting for the day of administration? You continually state that the club must be sold. What do you think the current and previous boards were trying to do? Should the club be sold to anyone at any price??? We need the buyer to be a stable, long term owner that will pay 'fair' value for the club. There is no doubt RL and co are not the long term solution, but in the current financial world we are left with little alternative. - or would you prefer the board to resign and the club fall into administration? (I think you prefer this option)

I hope the shareholders and banks have a more reliable and educated source of information than a footballer from the Czech Republic....
