Yeah from what i can remember the best you can hope for is to give them a months notice and hope the place isn't too badly trashed.

I've no problem with the govt having the details that I owe a phone (as long as they can keep those details safe!). I'm not so sure I want them having access to my call records and emails as the article suggested though. To be fair it's in the Times so it's probably Murdoch propaganda but all the same it's a worry. For the record though...Gordon, if you're reading this then please execute the royal family, yours truly Rev. PS, Also Jamie Oliver - no special reason except he's a tad irritating.
-
To be fair they only voted him in once, although that's bad enough.

I've gone beyond pessimism, I'm starting to enjoy the comedy value in supporting saints.

Why would you want to? I've never really understood this. I guess you could roll it in glitter to make it pretty...does that help?
-
To be fair if you apply that criteria then you'd end up hating pretty much every team in the league.

Obama has already criticised Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr so that one doesn't really hold much water. Bill Ayers was a terrorist I guess but he's also been Chicago's citizen of the year. In any case Ayers and Obama served on a couple of charity boards together - big deal. Ayers hosted some fund raising events for Obama..again big deal. None of this matters because as you pointed out with 'Joe the Plumber' none of them are running for president. I think it's good that there is clear policy difference beween the two though. Obama states quite clearly that 95% of the population will benefit from his policies while McCain favours policies that reward the health insurance companies and the rich. It's a legitimate choice rather than a choice between two politicians that essentially say the same thing. BTW if you really want to have a look at scandal then look at how the republicans stole the election between Bush and Gore. They actually did that. Ironically if they hadn't then America might not be in the mess it's in now and McCain might have stood a better chance of getting elected.

This is true, he works for a plumbing company but isn't a plumber. The union that represents plumbers in the US is supporting Obama.
-
McCain also has an annoying tendency to hold his arms out like a scarecrow. It's as if he's got a coathanger in his jacket. I notice he also says 'my friend' a lot. I thought he lost the debate and especially that 'Joe the plumber' argument he kept coming back to. I couldn't understand why he continued to return to it - it's fine to make a point but to keep repeating it isn't very clever. I enjoyed the debates though - it's a shame we don't have them over here.

Bluestar buses only being single decker and then having a load of seats facing the wrong way. I don't mind public transport and as I can't park where I work it works out about the same money as driving, plus I do my bit for the environment. I do think that everyone should get a seat though. The backwards seats are so sodding irritating. You've got that awkward 'lift moment' where everyone tries to avoid eye contact but this lasts for 45 minutes!

**** off. obviously in an ironic and gentlemanly way of course.

Ah no problem, in fact it's mostly my fault. I should actually read the Daily Star and watch GMTV. Trouble is I don't. It's the whole facile debate (take newsnight tonight),the inflated hyperbole and the reporting of 'non-news'. It's more a critique of the 24 hour news culture which shouts a lot but says very little.
-
Well the point was you didn't actually address the point but instead chose to regale us with your considered opinion of the economic climate which wasn't in question. i wasn't really interested in your opinion of that which to sum up was: Government intervention could be good.....or it could be bad. My point was I'm fed up of people saying exactly that!
-
No really? Wow what an insight Mr Keynes. My point was that it's annoying and dull, not it's effect on us. It wasn't an excuse for you to show off your combined A Levels in economics and politics.
-
Ummm well thanks for that....not sure I needed yet another economic commentary. My point is that it's not difficult to understand why but that when repeated ad finitum it becomes extremely bloody boring.
-
Is anyone else sick of hearing all the sodding time about this? It's as if all the news programmes are really getting off on misery and I suppose everyone will say what's new? It's bad enough having to deal with it without some gurning mug gleefully shouting 'and it's gonna get worse!' or that's how it seems to me. If this carries on Eastenders will start being billed as a comedy compared to the news/panorama/watchdog or any other consumer or current affairs show. I know they need to report it but it's bloody depressing nonetheless.

Ah, but this is his un google able little known twin brother....or not.....bugger.

Unlucky mate, unfortunately it happens a fair bit and I guess will become a bit more common now. It happened to me and it's a right kick in the teeth. I was offered statutory minimum or redeployment - I took redeployment as it gave me a year on protected pay to find something better. I found something I thought was better but turned out to to be utter crap. Fortunately after another year I've landed something far far better that i would never have got without going through a couple of years of work being rubbish. It's easy to say it's an opportunity but there's a difference between being forced to look for a job and fancying a change. Anyway good luck.
