  1. Good to see the mail getting behind tactical voting and trying to pass off extending democracy to 16 year olds as “rigging” elections. Have to say I’ve bloody loved the desperation and sheer incompetence of the Tories in this campaign.
  2. Christ, he's not even signed yet and you're giving him abuse.
  3. The monarch remains personally immune from criminal and civil actions
  4. Cheers, yes, I'd noticed that Spurs were so impressed that they decided not to bid for him.
  5. Is he really though? Can't say I've ever seen him so I can't comment but seem to recall you went mental for Caleta Car and he was a bit shit. He may well be fantastic (and I hope he is) but the YouTube videos don't really look exceptional in any way. Obviously not the best way to judge a player but if anything YouTube tends to make players look better than they actually are.
  6. Yeah but what if we have a nuclear attack and it's 6.10PM and Starmer is off playing with his kids eh? What's going to happen then? We could be all dead by morning but does Starmer care? Does he fuck! As long as he spends some quality time with his kids then the rest of us can go to hell. Dunno about anyone else but when I elect a prime minister I want them working morning, noon and night every day of every year. I want to see that prime minister age before my very eyes because if they're not going prematurely grey/bald/hunched/short sighted/demented then they're not working hard enough.
  7. I can't remember an election where one of the big two has just given up and thrown the towel in. Last week it was all about not surrendering, this week the only priority for the Tories seems to be avoiding wipeout and a "super majority". Last night I saw Steve Baker basically pleading for votes so they could be a more effective opposition. To be honest I'm not sure this drive for sympathy votes is going to do much good - I can see a lot of Tory voters who will just think what's the point and not bother.
  8. Out of interest, how do you know this?
  9. Seems strange to me - get the impression most transfers these days are normally done through intermediaries and that wage demands are generally known before a club submits a bid. Maybe we're at the haggling stage with the agent before bidding.
  10. You could, if the figures being quoted are correct, buy Delap and Brereton Diaz for 16M. Even if it's closer to 20M then that's still 5M less than the cheapest Broja valuation.
  11. Hasn’t proved himself in the premier league though.
  12. And who are the best players in the championship and shrewd talent from overseas? I mean we can all play that game. I think we should only sign players who will be right good in the premier league.
  13. Cheers, I'm aware of that but thanks anyway.
  14. Nah, it's undemocratic whichever way you dress it up. You either trust the electorate or you don't. Presidents would only remain in power as long as they were attractive to voters - there's your check right there.
  15. But if you're of the opinion that people "lose" it then you'd trust democracy to boot them out? 22nd amendment came out about in the 50s because the republicans were concerned they would never have another president elected again and it wasn't really about checks and balances. In most cases people get sick of someone after 8 years so it probably wouldn't be an issue anyway. Personally find it strange that people try to defend something fundamentally undemocratic just because Trump is advocating changing it. The flip side is you could have Obama back and I'd take that every day of the week.
  16. TBF I've always thought the 22nd amendment was a weird one - as long as it's democratic and fair then I don't see the problem with people being able to serve more than two terms.
  17. I'm going to buck the trend and go with Delap. He's cheaper for one thing - latest report had City wanting 10M and Chelsea still want around 30M for Broja. Then there's the injury concerns around Broja and whether he's still the player he once was. Mainly though I think Delap will probably suit us better. If we're playing with a back 5 then we'll need someone able to hold the ball up, play with his back to goal etc - one of the problems we had when we switched to a back 5 was A Armstrong couldn't hold it up and bring others into play. Delap is a big old unit and looks like he can do that role - he's also capable of turning his man and he's got a decent turn of pace. Broja has (or at least had) the pace but I think he's more the kind of player that plays off the shoulder etc. I thought Broja was great for us but he did go off the boil, has had a really bad injury and hasn't got back into form so his price would need to come way down before I'd take a chance on him.
  18. Unfortunately isn't in the Denmark squad - no idea why, Danish fans were pretty pissed off about it
  19. Definitely the most exciting link I've seen.
  20. I think Martin was still at Norwich when Aarons arrived there as well? Martin puts a lot of store into character so assume they'd have a decent idea of what he's like and whether he'd be a good fit.
  21. Gavin Newsom? Only seen a few interviews with him but has come across really well.
  22. Thanks for those links, interesting reads. I only watched a bit of the debate last night but from what I saw Sunak was doing OK but his constant interruptions spoilt it completely. Starmer frustrated me again. I guess he isn't the kind of person who does well in those situations but a decent orator could have the tories on toast. It's all too late anyway, I doubt that many watched and the ones that did have probably already made up their minds.
  23. What were the admission rates like? I only ask because that was supposed to be the reasoning behind lockdown rather than mortality.
  24. I quite like it although could do with some work on the wavy outside lines.
