You don't really get subtle wind up do you?

So any father who can afford to spend time with his newborn child is a "lazy workshy layabout father"? As I recall that two weeks that the father currently is entitled to is not entirely funded by the employer -there's no plans as I understand that to extend it to 12 months. There were rumours it might be extended to six months but they have been put on hold, in any case the proposals were suggested for the last six months of maternity leave to enable the mother to get back into work.

It's not often I agree with you but I do this time. We should abolish "workers rights" - they're getting paid after all what more rights do they need? We also need to abolish the minimum wage. How on earth do we expect to compete with countries like China (and they're communists! - our socialist leaders could learn a thing from them!) I'd also bring in mass immigration for people who will work for next to nothing - that will make us more competitive. A low paid workforce means lower priced goods and a better chance for exporting goods. Anyway, people who strike almost invariably want more money. I'm not sure that's what they should be concerning themselves with - my grandparents had hardly any money and were happy. Money ruined that happiness (well that and the sixties but even then it was fuelled by teenagers having disposable incomes). People who strike are tossers.

So you're saying he's hampered by hype and then saying he shouldn't play as a striker because he can't guarantee 20 goals? Nothing like putting pressure on whoever is Lambert's striking partner then eh? Out of interest who would you rather play on the right?
-
To be honest there seem to be more people who don't rate Lallana than do....or maybe it's just the same people repeating themselves? All I know is that in the games I've seen we've lacked an ability to create chances and Lallana has the ability to do that (and yes I know he's been playing in those games). On the left I'd agree we've got better options (or at least when they're fit) but not on the right. I just don't think we've got anything better in terms of creativity and even if it doesn't come off well at least he's trying and is capable of doing something. I'm not sure we've got anyone else in the squad that can do that better so I'd rather support the lad and hope that his confidence improves.

You're going to get hammered here for your support of Lowe, and rightly so IMO. You and your incarnations have lauded him for ages and now when it appears as if we have a club that is starting to get itself back on it's feet you say you're not aware of defending him? Sorry but that doesn't wash. You've been blind and ignorant to Lowe's faults up till this summer but now expect to debate fairly? Just like Lowe your baggage comes with you and for you that means accepting you got it wrong, antagonised people needlessly and banged a drum that got boring long before the first beat. When I questioned you (as Sundance) you failed to answer a single question and that's the thing - you actually don't debate when it comes to having to answer a question. As for Rupert Lowe being eradicated? If only......

Thierry Henry was a winger for Juventus.

Is he left footed then? I always thought he was better on the right but I guess the Hearts goal might bear out your assessment. Personally I think he's got talent and worth persevering with. He's one of the few players we've got that has the ability to pick out a good pass in the final third (whether he always does that is a different question) but I'd rather have a player who has the talent even if it is largely unrealised than someone who might run and run but achieve the same result. We've got a fair number of cloggers in the side now - it'd be nice to have someone who can be the difference between a tough team hard to beat and a tough team that wins. What do I know though? I thought Fernades was great (and still do) but he was slagged off continually as well.
-
We don't have much strength in depth but then which div 1 clubs do? We've been crying out for width though but on the left side if 2 from Harding, Holmes and Mills can stay fit then we should be OK. On the right I think Lallana will play better than wide left. We could probably do with some pace in that position but it's a hope and not a necessity. Waigo up front (if he's as good as we think) should be enough with Lambert. I don't think we've actually got that bad a squad now and hopefully Wally Downes will help in the same way Snodin did (we've seriously missed him). Charlton may come too soon but now that the transfer window has closed I'd expect Pardew to start to get the best out of his coaches and his team.

Why? Or is that supposed to be funny? Statistically the chances of winning a raffle are much less than winning a game of football. Should we be concentrating on winning raffles instead? I'm confused......
-
What's that then? Genuine question.
-
According to Cotterill on Sky Sports Colchester are lucky not to be one nil up. ha ha classic!
-
Yes, exactly. I'd be happy enough with Lallana wide right but Thomson has been shocking this season. James would be OK on the right but don't expect him to skin the fullback and get to the bye line - he's solid enough though. Incidentally we will win today - it's the first home league game i've missed so far.
-
Do we have a decent wide right player though?
-
So you think he's doing something wrong but don't know what? Great, that's helpful....
-
That's not really an answer though is it? Surely no one decided we'd not win for 5 games just for a laugh....so something must be wrong. What is it?
-
The inevitable question is what would you do differently though?
-
Saints 1 Colchester 3 I'm basing this primarily on the fact that predicting a win for us hasn't worked yet. However, Boothroyd teams always win and always score three against us and despite losing their last three they'll be bouyant after his appointment. Smashing seven against Norwich shows they've got the talent to do well and with Murty out I think they'll target our right back. It's a shame that neither Waigo or Jaidhi are available as well. The only bright spot for me is that we could hopefully see the return of either Mills or Holmes. We haven't really had a balanced side this season and I'd expect our left side to be pretty strong if either of them start the game.
-
Still not exactly inspiring is it? Jaidhi is probably a good signing but I expected that would have been the easier of the deals to tie up - and wasn't dependant on today either. We look a lot stronger defensively anyway and Jaidhi would help but still need quality in wide areas as we seem to struggle creating chances.
-
Bit underwhelmed to be honest. We started the day thinking we'd get three players in and ended up with the maybe promise of one player that's obviously going to be a loan or a free.
-
I was going to say that but I do miss the atmosphere of a full ground. On the other hand I don't miss the opposition scoring and seeing loads of people jump up around me so swings and roundabouts.
-
I was hoping to see him in action but on the other hand if we are interested then it could be good for us that he's not involved tonight. He's certainly the kind of player we should be after and from what I can tell he doesn't seem to be a 1st choice for Leicester. Strange considering he did so well last season.
-
Max Gradel hasn't even made the bench for Leicester tonight. I have no idea if he's injured or not but it could be because he's lined up for a move. Would be nice if it was to us.
-
Good points but it does do "Strictly come dancing", "cash in the attic" and other quality programmes that you just wouldn't see on ITV. I just wish they'd get Ant and Dec back.

I think it's brilliant. It does tend to divide opinion into extremes though. I thought the US version was slight worse than OK but not abysmal.
