  1. Not if you're alpine.......anything less than a 10-0 win is a disgrace. NO EXCUSES (special mention to delldays there)
  2. Is it stating the bleeding obvious to say we need a third, and not to concede?
  3. It's true - Pardew has explicitly said to the players that the absolute maximum number of goals we should score in any game is one. Yawn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. Bloody hell, you must be a coach or something! Surely you've played "at the top level before"?
  5. I don't really have a sophistcated argument for this and i don't think it needs one - either you believe in the death sentence or you don't. No amount of justification on either side will sway the other. Personally I don't believe in it. Somoeone once wrote (I'm not sure who) that you shouldn't expect the state to carry out something you wouldn't be prepared to do yourselves and I couldn't kill someone in cold blood. I'm sure there are many here who would claim they could do that job without hesitation and possibly they could. I would say being brave behind a keyboard is entirely different to actually murdering someone but that's just me. I'm glad we don't have a death penalty here.
  6. It was mostly 4-3-3. Wallace and Le Tiss wide with one up front (most of the time Rideout). Rideout actually came out and said he preferred playing with a conventional striker and cited it as one of the reasons he left.
  7. You got that wrong. It's Don't blame it on Hamann, Don't blame it on Biscan, Don't blame it on Finnan, Blame it on Traore. He just can't, he just can't, he just can't control his feet... Now there can be no excuses for getting simple chants wrong. NO EXCUSES AT ALL. I'm not advocating your removal from this forum BUT THERE CAN BE NO EXCUSES for this fundamental error. The time for experimenting with google and cut and paste has gone, any complaint about "gelling with the internet" has long since past it's sell by date. NO EXCUSES!
  8. Well this is all quite fun! Personally I'd play him on the right and despite asking the question a few times no one has suggested a better alternative - until they do I'll continue to want him in the starting XI. He may not be as good as the hype and he probably shouldn't take corners (that should be a coaching issue though and not a criticism of the player - unless he bullies the other players and they're scared of him). Besides which I still think he's one of the few players capable of something - granted he doesn't always do it but at least he can try. On the right we've only really got 3 other candidates that I can see - James, Thomson and Waigo. Two of those don't seem to me to offer the same threat and Waigo possibly might but I get the impression he's thought of as more a striker. If Waigo proves to be the man in that position then I'll agree though.
  9. If you look at the defence of AL on this thread then there doesn't seem to be too many people suggesting he's a world beater - just a good player with the potential to be much much better. You appear (whether you want to or not) as being overly critical - that's what you were being called up on. As I've said before the team does lack creativity so in the absence of anything better it's worth supporting AL isn't it?
  10. Yep, congratulations to AL. He should really have done better saving the goal we conceded and it was disappointing not to see him beat the entire Charlton team twice before lobbing the keeper from 60 yards. Until he does that week in / week out he'll remain the weak link in our team though.....
  11. Cheers! Nice to hear we did OK against a top side in this division and good to hear from someone who went to the game. Meanwhile in interweb world people are slashing their wrists.........
  12. Chav
  13. You'd have to be a complete retard to be getting as worked up as you are!
  14. In the absence of answering the question as to who you would play instead I'm assuming you have no answer. In which case what's the point of slagging Lallana off? Of course he wouldn't get near our team in the prem.....but we're not in the prem. He's a decent player, has the talent to be better and excites fans....what's the problem? You seem to be basing your assumption on his "billy big balls" attitude and to be fair that may be the case (I've never met him) but for me that doesn't show on the pitch.....and that's what counts. Cut him slack - he's not our worst player and could be our best player.
  15. Goals are only scored by Saints. Opposition "goals" are disputable events which are either clearly offside or down to referreeing incompetence and so cannot rightly be referred to as goals.
  16. I like your optimism!
  17. I can't answer that. Damn! I wish I hadn't said that.
  18. Who would you play instead?
  19. You don't really get subtle wind up do you?
  20. So any father who can afford to spend time with his newborn child is a "lazy workshy layabout father"? As I recall that two weeks that the father currently is entitled to is not entirely funded by the employer -there's no plans as I understand that to extend it to 12 months. There were rumours it might be extended to six months but they have been put on hold, in any case the proposals were suggested for the last six months of maternity leave to enable the mother to get back into work.
  21. It's not often I agree with you but I do this time. We should abolish "workers rights" - they're getting paid after all what more rights do they need? We also need to abolish the minimum wage. How on earth do we expect to compete with countries like China (and they're communists! - our socialist leaders could learn a thing from them!) I'd also bring in mass immigration for people who will work for next to nothing - that will make us more competitive. A low paid workforce means lower priced goods and a better chance for exporting goods. Anyway, people who strike almost invariably want more money. I'm not sure that's what they should be concerning themselves with - my grandparents had hardly any money and were happy. Money ruined that happiness (well that and the sixties but even then it was fuelled by teenagers having disposable incomes). People who strike are tossers.
  22. So you're saying he's hampered by hype and then saying he shouldn't play as a striker because he can't guarantee 20 goals? Nothing like putting pressure on whoever is Lambert's striking partner then eh? Out of interest who would you rather play on the right?
  23. To be honest there seem to be more people who don't rate Lallana than do....or maybe it's just the same people repeating themselves? All I know is that in the games I've seen we've lacked an ability to create chances and Lallana has the ability to do that (and yes I know he's been playing in those games). On the left I'd agree we've got better options (or at least when they're fit) but not on the right. I just don't think we've got anything better in terms of creativity and even if it doesn't come off well at least he's trying and is capable of doing something. I'm not sure we've got anyone else in the squad that can do that better so I'd rather support the lad and hope that his confidence improves.
  24. You're going to get hammered here for your support of Lowe, and rightly so IMO. You and your incarnations have lauded him for ages and now when it appears as if we have a club that is starting to get itself back on it's feet you say you're not aware of defending him? Sorry but that doesn't wash. You've been blind and ignorant to Lowe's faults up till this summer but now expect to debate fairly? Just like Lowe your baggage comes with you and for you that means accepting you got it wrong, antagonised people needlessly and banged a drum that got boring long before the first beat. When I questioned you (as Sundance) you failed to answer a single question and that's the thing - you actually don't debate when it comes to having to answer a question. As for Rupert Lowe being eradicated? If only......
  25. Thierry Henry was a winger for Juventus.
