  1. It's on betfair so in all probability it ain't going to happen. 500K for Antonio seems fair - maybe chuck in 10% sell on, and the same again for Phillips is also fair. We could do with both. Pardew used Antonio a lot as a striker and although he's no cover for Lambert he can do a job up front if needed. If either were true then I'd be happy.
  2. Absolutely and it's such a crap excuse. It's like something a school kid would come up with. I'll be honest that I expected a lot of baffling legalese but if that's the best they can come up with? I just can't see how the CVA is legal, realistic or in the best interest of the creditors.
  3. I'm no expert but surely the only question the judge needs to consider is "Is the CVA legal"? Morally I'm sure the football creditors rule is wrong but maybe not in law. the biggest thing seems to be the disputed difference in debt between HMRC's valuation and the administrator. I'd side with HMRC on this one and would hope the judge will too. If Pompey's defence is to rely on some heart string pulling rhetoric then surely that's no defence at all? In fact if I were the judge I think that would strengthen my resolve - if it's that bad now then they really don't stand a chance of fulfilling their obligations even with the CVA. If they do end up liquidated then I won't shed a tear. I know some Pompey fans - none of them are decent.
  4. Oh FFS! You think I wanted praise? Christ on a bike! I want anger! I want vitriol! I want inventive invective! Jeez, I feel like Burgess Meredith in Rocky - you've (literally) lost your hunger. You need to chase chickens or something....
  5. Tbf I think you've been utter **** this pre-season. Apart from an inspired fat boy thread you haven't offered anything new at all and I'm disappointed. I paid my fiver in good faith to read you and for what? Some standard generic moaning - you're just going through the motions mate and you shouldn't take us for granted. I know it's just pre-season and you'll get better but surely you could experiment with some new themes and try them for size? Frankly I'm not confident going into this season - I expected world class moaning but so far it's been a bit dull. At this rate I'm going to have to go to games instead and that would be a shame..
  6. It'll be our first chance to see the team today for a lot of us and given NC's previous comments about a Southampton "style" (see here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/southampton/8679885.stm) I wondered what people thought the style might be? I don't expect to see much of it today given it's a friendly and we've got key injuries but it'll be interesting to see how that style develops over the season. It would be quite good to have a recognised brand of football - we used to have it until Branfoot took over and we never really got it back. Thoughts?
  7. Good luck mate and I'll buy a copy if I see someone selling it. I'm sure I'm not alone in missing proper fanzines and would be great to see one back here.
  8. Really? Blue shirts? Doubt it....
  9. 16 'fraid not. To be honest it's all gone a bit quiet now. I'll chuck you the fact that he's Italian.
  10. Not having played for his country (full international level) would make playing in the world cup a bit tricky.
  11. Sorry, but no. Latin types rarely are.....there you go big hint.
  12. Yeah, that's too cryptic for me...
  13. Never been contracted over here. He may have been in a European competition here but not to my knowledge.
  14. I'd never heard of him but the you tube videos look good.....a bit of a David Platt type late runner into the box type if that helps?
  15. No, it's true. The thing is I can't compromise my source (always wanted to say that!) and I know they met for talks today - but I don't know the outcome. I fully intend to exploit my ITK status from now on though - it probably won't last long......
  16. Where's the fun in that? The whole point of this is I know something you don't.
  17. Animal, and yes or no questions from now on until you get too close.....
  18. Yep, sounds like the same one I've heard.
  19. I know we're in for a player currently playing in one of Europe's second tier divisions (not England). He's a midfielder and has already had talks with Pardew.
