  1. Good lord people get carried away don't they? Is this really all about MLT and some others having an opinion? Or having an opinion that may differ from the cosy image of the club we all want to believe? Or just disclosing that opinion? Either way it doesn't really matter - some people take this way too seriously.
  2. you were lucky. I didn't start there till late '94

  4. Well to be honest I think this should be named what is wrong with this forum? The majority of saints fans I know in real life aren't totally ****ed off and they're not slashing their wrists. They're not boycotting and they're not refusing to listen to the radio because it's "too painful". They're also not calling for Lambert to be shipped out either. Then again neither did they join in the grief fest after Markus died - have you all got over your diana moment yet?
  5. I agree with this whole heartedly. I often wonder whether it's right to criticise or not. Until Alpine tells me someone isn't up to the job then they're fine by me.
  6. I was being sarcastic - I actually agree with you!
  7. And of course you do know what is within his capability and what isn't? Of course everyone will give him a chance, what choice do we have? If you want a list of why he might fail, try this: He's only managed at one professional league club. he's not experienced the kind of pressure and expectation at Scunny that he will get here He's not a "name" that will get the fans excited and so he needs to prove himself quickly He won't immediately command the respect of the dressing room Of course he may be able to overcome those obstacles - I hope he does. It's not moronic to poin them out though.
  8. If we were talking about playing style I'd certainly agree with you about Megson. There's no guarantee about whoever we appoint though. It just annoys me when anyone who suggests that Adkins might not be the right appointment is labelled a loon. At least you can be sensible about it. I'm sure there are posters who have done that. Just as there are posters who suggest that Adkins is the only choice we have and is practically the new messiah. Neither are true.
  9. Well it's only my opinion but I feel that Mowbray, Brown or even Megson would be better suited. They all come with baggage of course and none are perfect but they all have a similar record to Adkins in that they've had promotions and then relegations due to lack of resources. That's only my opinion though - it doesn't make me a moron or arrogant, just that I disagree with you.
  10. But no one is suggesting he can't or won't be a success. Just that there are better candidates out there. Apparently that's arrogant and makes you a moron though.
  11. Shut up with that arrogant talk!
  12. Still not answering the question though are you? And for the record no one knows who the plymouth chairman is pretty much everyone knows who the south club are now....
  13. You'd go a long way to find a more unpopular chief exec though. Finally why do you think we get bad press? I notice you're not too good at that point? Is it because we are just misunderstood?
  14. And in the absence of any explanation you can conclude either it was disciplinary (unlikely given three members of staff went) or that it was because AP just didn't fit. Given the rumours over the summer I know which one I'd choose.
  15. Clearly there's a credibility issue if Howe turned us down? And the Scunny chairman said we were difficult...you already know this....why do you think we get bad press?
  16. What's happened about the ST plan then? the idea that it could be re-introduced when we got swipe cards? Why not say that at the time? it's hardly confidential stuff is it and would have saved a fair bit of bad press. i hope NC does pay attention to this forum. I could then tell him that in the absence of a decent explanantion of why AP and his staff were sacked it's my opinion that he's ****ed up the start of the season and left with potential replacements that on paper could only hope to be as good as AP.
  17. Bournemouth, Scunny, the BBC, the printed media.....that's just off the top of my head...why do you think we get bad press?
  18. To be honest I doubt he'd take much credence from this or any other forum. What is true is that NC has managed in the space of what 3 months to **** virtually everyone off except a lot of people on this forum. That may have had an effect if he was ever interested....
  19. Well that could be true I suppose but in the recent fans interview thing he did it seemed as though it was actually still in place. Surely though if it was anything to do with Markus being ill they would have had to ban all cameras? Actually I think NC has a valid point but the way he went about it was totally wrong.
  20. To be fair we're still suffering the hangover since you left. What a couple of years celebration that was.
  21. Has Cortese actually revoked the ban on photographers?
  22. I was just pointing out how wrong you can be.
  23. You apologised after the Bristol Rovers home game.
  24. Just pointing out that last season when people were calling for a bit of time and patience and maybe an open mind all you could do was shout No excuses FFS! When people disagreed with you there were "No Excuses FFS!" Why is that you shouted that at Pardew virtually all the time (and Lallana and Scneiderlin until you saw them play) and yet Cortese should be given more time or an open mind? Surely as chief exec he needs to take his share of the blame?
  25. No excuses FFS! We have a rich owner and are a big club. We should have a manager and a good one. We shouldn't be in this situation. Infuriating that argumentative position isn't it? remind you of anyone?
