And This Bloke Is Supposed To Be A Saints Fan
revolution saint replied to Gemmel's topic in The Saints
This isn't journalism it's comment. There's very little in the way of fact and more interpretation and assumption. As many people have pointed out it's clearly designed to appeal to fans of a Boscombe variety and I suppose it tells them what they want to hear. Personally I find it quite funny - I mean we can't win here can we? If we ignore them we're arrogant and belittling them and if we take up their mantle of being our chief rivals then it's "look how far we've fallen". Personally I can't stand comment - it's just one person's opinion and if I wanted to I could read a blog (or a forum) for that. The opinion is no more valid than yours, mine, or anyone else's with the only difference being that ours haven't been bought, and bought by a paper with the only criteria being write something that gets people riled up. So I guess it's nice try fella but I still don't really care about Boscombe, never have, never will. -
I've got a complete set of pro-set football cards from 1991 in the official binder. Makes for some interesting browsing. Anyone care to take a punt and how much it's worth (if anything)? Mods, feel free to move this to buy/sell forum although technically they're not for sale - I just wondered if they're worth anything.

Which could of course explain why the Wilkins era was so ****e.

I heard the chant but had no idea why it was being sung. Tragic news - so sad. RIP Deano.

I didn't think we were great but thought we deserved the win and at this stage of the season will take that over a performance. The game was spoiled for me by the muppets sat behind me though. Not only chronically stupid but loud and chronically stupid - apparently Lambert is crap, can only jump and needs to be shipped out. Another gem was "that Butterfield is a good young player - what is he 18 or 19?". If you were in North Kingsland and heard them slagging people off for leaving early (apparently only season ticket holders leave early) then you'll know who they are - just be thankful you didn't have to listen to them all game. I've heard a lot of morons before but they really won gold medal today.

Can anyone suggest a city centre pub that won't be showing either the manc game or the egg chasing one - I can't be arsed to queue for ages amongst the plastics. Failing that one that won't be heaving. Normally drink in Varsity so somewhere in that area would be good. Ta

I'm sure he won "save of the season" for his double save in the Newcastle game.

Yep and the ones that are have been good for us. I'm happy to see Sheff Weds fall away over Dons gaining a temporary place above us. Could do with Orient scoring tho

Exeter 1 - 2 Saints - Post Match Reaction
revolution saint replied to Saint_clark's topic in The Saints
This won't be surprising to hear but just had a call from someone at the game and apparently we "absolutely robbed them". Lambert's goals were a couple of crackers though and in the long run getting him back on form is what we need. Let's face it he almost dragged us into the playoffs on his own last season. -
Tyldesley is a muppet and a biased one at that. Special praise must go to patronising cvnt Michael Owen as well though.
-
Erm hypothetically if we were to sign him then that would mean he'd have turned down Ipswich and Burnley making us his 1st choice.....

I agree - so far most of the defence had been that Keys and Gray were joking. It certainly didn't seem that way to me, just sexist and stupid. Course the thing in their position is that to an extent they and SKY rely on the popularity of the presenters to make money - whether they were right or wrong you can't just go around offending people and hope to get away with it. Personally I found their style facile anyway but if any other presenter made the same mistakes they did then they would be in the same position. It's no good apologising either - the apology is because they were caught out and not because they think what they did was wrong. If it was then they wouldn't have made those comments. Now hopefully we can move on, that Massey bird can get a topless contract with Nuts or Zoo and we can get Laura Esposto to replace Keys. Every silver lining eh?
-
Well not really. It was the standard non-committal answer that didn't give much away. To be fair it's about the only thing he can say but it was hardly "come and get me".

Nothing on Solent on the lunchtime news.

Money means nothing in this league because you can't spend it on quality players. If we were in the champ then maybe it's a different story but in our current position I'd rather have a player capable of playing in the prem playing for us than money than in the bank. Having a good bank account balance won't get us promoted but having good players will. OXO to stay.
-
What's the point in letting him go this month? Even if we had 10 mill to spend we couldn't spend it. If he goes in the summer and we're promoted then it may be a good deal but otherwise a bit pointless.
-
Good idea but I doubt it - The league will probably have signed a contract with Old Trafford.
-
He's been mentioned before and probably already out of our grasp but Dale Jennings would be a superb signing and just what we need. Good pace, an eye for goal, two footed and the right age as well. He wouldn't just be cover either and would fit the template of the kind of team we're trying to create. Probably just a pipe dream - I'm sure there are higher placed teams than us in for him but if Adkins can use his Tranmere connections then he would be a hell of a signing.
-
Apparently Bartley started as a midfielder so another versatile player. I don't know much about him at all but seems to have had a fair bit of interest shown in him by other clubs. At 24 he'd be the right age for us as well.

Everything by Genesis up till and not including Invisible Touch. I could also include Sugababes but I feel I can justify them.

Where will you sit for the United game?

I may be persuaded to go if all of us decide to sit together and buy shirts with our username on the back. -

I won't be going. Despite having a season ticket I have no wish to be regarded as a plastic glory hunting fan or even sit next to that poisonous scum. I will probably stand outside and pelt people with rotten fruit up till kick off and then find a pub. -
But they advocate the redistribution of wealth which would actually harm them more so I would say they are actually more true to their beliefs than a "poor" socialist. Of course that's subjective. I would say you're very very thick and so would many others - it doesn't mean you are but it might be more likely.

Could you answer the question about why it's hypocritical to be rich and a socialist? Or do you agree it's not hypocritical?
