  1. Yeah, that’s bullshit.
  2. Indeed and she’s already using the border bill that Trump caused to fail as a decent attack against him. I think the phrase she used was “proof that Trump doesn’t care about the border, he only cares about himself”.
  3. Sort of linked to Goztepe but Welington - on the total saints podcast last night Steve Grant was talking about highly regarded he was in Brazil. Would love to know where he found that as seems precious little on him and what there is definitely isn't complimentary.
  4. I'm not fussy tbh. Whatever you got. Beats people talking about goalkeepers or circle of twats.
  5. Rule 1 for the teachers and sisters please.
  6. Contract until 2026 and chairman saying it would take a big bid for them to sell. Of course they all say that but they got a good deal on Gyokeros (or however you spell it) so a deal wouldn't be easy. Sara at Norwich is the same with a contract 'till 2026. I think a loan at Celtic for Charles makes sense but makes the O'Riley deal much more expensive if we have to replace Charles (which I think we probably do).
  7. People (mostly sports commentators) adding "years of age". As in Lamine Yamal, just 17 years of age. He's 17. Just say he's 17. That's all that's required. No one is going to mistake it for 17 stone (of weight) or 17 metres (of height).
  8. Personally think Camara was a potential if the Downes deal didn't happen. Camara really isn't a similar player to O'Riley - 1 goal and 4 assists in over 30 games last season.
  9. Since when have we been allowed to pick the club we support, and why wasn't I told? Fucks sake, it's probably too late now.
  10. Which begs the question, what the fuck you doing on this thread?
  11. Decent signing on the face of it although he looks more like a striker than someone who can or should play wide.
  12. No, that would be a miracle.
  13. Back in the day your number 9 was a classic no nonsense centre forward who would lead the line and not faff around with anything except getting on the end of crosses and sticking their elbows into the faces of pug ugly defenders. Generally of the tall variety and Jimmy Hill would often lament England lacking "a big number 9". Nowadays it's probably a semi inverted dwarf that drops deep and creates havoc between the lines. Either that or a chinese takeaway menu item.
  14. Couldn’t really blame O’Riley if he chose Atalanta (I would too) but hope it gets sorted quickly. I’m presuming the bulk of our transfer budget would go on him so the quicker it gets sorted the sooner we can build the team
  15. I guess he doesn't show the usual ex-club bias towards us but who really cares? I was more shocked at what the cast of Eldorado look like now. I couldn't believe my eyes!
  16. You're probably supporting the wrong candidate if lying gets you worked up.
  17. Ah crap, hope he makes a full recovery. Imagine he was the playground idol for many of us.
  18. I've just read the article and it's not really that bad. He thinks both clubs would be a good place for Clarke and he thinks maybe Ipswich are a better attacking team and maybe stand a better chance of staying up. Sounds like exactly what it is, which is ex-pro is asked for an opinion on something he doesn't really know or care much about.
  19. I'm not sure we'd be having this conversation about Smallbone if Martin hadn't decided he could play a deeper role. He can't and all it did was show up his limitations - he's slow(ish) and can't really tackle. If that's not his job then I think he could be OK. He looks to be at his best as one of a three and if he's played like that then I reckon he's earnt a crack at giving it a go. He'll need to improve on certain things but he's a decent passer, can move the ball quickly, spot chances and carries a goal threat so there's no reason he can't step up.
  20. BBD looks like he'd throw his grandmother under a bus to score a goal. He's a decent Che replacement at any rate - scored roughly the same as you would expect Che would in less than half the games.
  21. Probably - they seem to have more right than the rubbish that comes from domestic chancers. Fabrizio Romano doesn't seem to get much wrong.
  22. I think if palace thought he was ready for the premier league then they would keep him this season. They did want him involved last season and although injuries didn't help they've obviously concluded he still isn't quite ready yet which is why they they want a championship loan. From the little I've seen and Palace fan I spoke to he probably could be a decent player in the future but the problem is we are better off right now signing and loaning players that are more likely to make a big difference this season. It's all about the context of other signings - I've got no problem if we satisfy the needs of the first team and have him as an option to gradually integrate then that's fine. If we're expecting him to be starting 11 material when his own club (who see him everyday) don't then that's probably not the smartest move we could make.
  23. Palace think he needs a loan for a season at a championship club. If they thought he was ready for the premier league then they wouldn't be buying Sarr.
  24. Transfer window is busy - shocker. Our squad is barely better than last season's championship team. I hope the club know this.
  25. Yeah sure, that's the accounting side of it but I think it's the amount being potentially spent when it could be better used elsewhere that's the issue and not how it gets recorded. Ultimately you still need to have the money.
