I've got one if that's any good.

Bizarrely 9% of our fans apparently didn't think that the Skates were our biggest rivals.

Saturday 3pm - Spain kicks up a fuss - TV versus the fans ?
knellster replied to manina-pub's topic in The Saints
It can be stopped if the fans ALL stick together, but the problem is that they won't. In Germany Sky introduced Monday night games in the 1. Bundesliga. Games were held up because thousands of tennis balls were thrown onto the pitch, others had problems because loads of fans blew whistles, and at one the crowd remained silent so the atmosphere on the TV was dreadful. After 12 weeks Sky gave up. A great effort by their fans, but I don't believe it would happen here. -
Sorry if it's been mentioned earlier in this thread, but I noticed on Saturday that they are sponsored by The University Of Portsmouth which presumably means that after my taxes subsidised their FA Cup success a few years ago, it is now subsidising their attempt to get into the Championship. I don't work my arse off every week to put money in their coffers, so I would be happy for someone to tell me I'm wrong.

1. Moran v Skates 84 - far and away the best moment of my football watching life 2. Moran late winner at Liverpool 1981?? after Katalinic had played the best game of his Saints career 3. Le Tiss last game at the Dell 4. Camara v Norwich at St Mary's 5. Gabbi at Swansea last season Couldn't agree more. As bad a moment as 1 above was great

Sadly I also now have two spare adult tickets for Palace on Saturday. Face value is £60 but I'll take £50 for the pair. Please message me on 07904 524766 if you're interested.

So I guess that tonight we want: Chelsea to beat Huddersfield so that Swansea's best chance of safety is winning against Stoke and Huddersfield losing against Arsenal. They are then more likely to try to hold on to a 1-0 or 2-0 lead rather than go all out for goals to overhaul us. Brighton to take at least a point off Man City so they can't get the 100 points. A couple of injuries would be good too. Nothing serious, but enough to make some of their players who expect to be in Russia to be a little bit wary. Not too much to ask is it?

It's also in the Echo and the Telegraph.

In a way I'll be quite grateful if they stop being produced. My collection contains every home programme since 1971 and every away since 1975 so I keep buying them just to keep the collection complete. I haven't even flicked through the old ones since I moved house umpteen years ago so they really are just dust collectors but I can't bring myself to get rid of them.

Would you encourage a grand-child still to be a Saints fan
knellster replied to OldNick's topic in The Saints
Really? So having moved to Nottingham I should dump Saints and start supporting Forest or County? Which one? They are both local now? Besides, my dad took me The Dell when I was 5 (well over 50 years ago!!) because it was his team, but work had taken him to P****mouth so by your logic I should be a Skate, and anything that suggests anyone should be a Skate is "a load of b*llocks". -
Again thanks - that was the problem!

Ahhh ok - great. Thanks for your help.

Sorry if this has been asked elsewhere (but I couldn't see it) and sorry if this is an obvious question. I am using Flawless. It rarely freezes, but it is usually in slow motion. Also when it's working ok the sound is about 5 seconds ahead of the picture. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? I'm using IPTV on an iPad. Thanks in advance.

I remember someone asking George Best what he thought a young MLT's England prospects were, and he came out with the stat that Carlton Palmer on his own had more caps than Rodney Marsh, Stan Bowles and Alan Hudson combined so a long England career was no indication of talent. Seems he was right! I just wonder if Palmer is claiming to better than them too. As far as ambition goes, I'd have thought keeping Saints in the Prem in the early 90s was a far bigger challenge than winning the league with Man Utd. The fact that he did it so many times makes him far and away the best and most consistent player I have ever seen.

76 Cup Final programme signed by all 22 players, the two managers, the referee and the two linesmen. Shirt signed by everyone who played for us in the 03/04 season. Every home programme since 1971 and every away since 1975. Sad or what? I don't really know why I keep them cos they're all in binders so I only ever look at them when I move house, and they're currently in storage. For sentimental reasons, I really like the panoramic photo of the 2-0 League Cup win v P*mpey - it was my dad's last game at St Mary's and we are both clearly in the photo.

I got a link on Facebook this morning to a video of the 6-0 win at Wolves which was 10 years ago today. One thing that struck me that day was how the Wolves fans really stuck with their team even when they were 5-0 and 6-0 down (to be fair the score did flatter us a lot). Both managers mentioned the home support in their post match interviews, but I haven't heard a load of Wolves fans telling everyone since then that they must be the bestest mostest passionatest fans in the world as a result of that support. Strange because making a lot of noise on one occasion when you're 5-0 down at home is apparently the only requirement for bestestness.

Europa League - Sparta Prague travel/accommodation thread
knellster replied to stevegrant's topic in Saints Away Supporters
For those interested (and staying long enough), Slavia Prague are at home on the Saturday afternoon. Also, this website is pretty useful for info about getting to and from the stadium http://www.stadiumguide.com/letna/ I've walked it from the old town before. The area around the ground isn't the nicest, but it didn't feel remotely unsafe. There was also a McDonald's on the way which had very efficient staff so the wait wasn't long even if the queues were. -
I'm arriving at BG airport 05:00 on Thursday morning. Plan is to drive to Jerusalem to join 1/2 day tour starting at 8:30, and then drive to Beer Sheva. Driving back to BG after the game (although not necessarily immediately after the game) for a flight out at 09:00. I've only hired a small car, but there are three spare seats if anyone wants transport to or from the airport. Only get three posts a day so probably better to email steve_kneller@Hotmail.com

I have to confess I never really felt the hatred for Hoddle. As I fan I quite liked the fact that he held a club he had played for so dear, and therefore wanted to manage them. It certainly beats our latest manager's reason for leaving! Was his departure really that different from Rickie's? Or Mick Channon's decision to return to his spiritual home from Man City? Also, most of the players we had were better players when he left than when he arrived so I appreciated his time here. Agree about the fantastic atmosphere at WHL that day though, especially as for some reason I've never liked Spurs since I was a kid (which was a long time ago!)

You can be pretty sure they're fake. I used to work for the company that does the fixtures, and they go to huge lengths to keep them quiet before release day. The clubs get to see them a couple of days before in order to check that fixtures don't clash with pre specified events, but that's all.

Great tweet from Jimmy Adams Can the overweight lady get a shift on and sing.... #stevemcqueen (Please...).

Only 1 more needed now, and 30 + overs to go.

Suusex now 5 down. It's a little cloudy here in Nottingham but that's all so I can't see the weather saving Notts. This is not how I thought this day week would end, but hey ho sometimes it's good to be wrong (I know a couple of big partnerships could still save Sussex but it really doesn't look good fior them).
