We saw everything that is good about Che Adams and everything that is bad last night. When will he get it into his head that leathering the bloody ball every time he gets a sight of goal achieves nothing. With thought, patience and craft he could be a prolific goal scorer but sadly it seems he will never learn these attributes and so will never be a prolific scorer at this level. Two missed sitters last night was inexcusable and not the laughing matter he seemed to think it was. It's a pity Stuart Armstrong didn't get into the starting XI but easy to see why not. The Scottish side were clearly set up for a midfield and defensive battle to keep a clean sheet and maybe nick one on the break. Armstrong has the wrong skill set for that type of set-up.

We do need to keep 11 players on th ebooks 'though to meet our weekend obligations

The summer transfer window will open on Wednesday June 9, 2021 for Premier League clubs and it will run for 12 weeks until 11pm BST (6pm ET) on Tuesday August 31. That means transfers deals can be officially concluded before Euro 2020 kicks off on June 11.

Different times old chap. That was back in the day when we finished regularly in the top 8. Now we have a squad of players like JWP who play flat out to achieve 16th. He's OK for us now but was never OK for us then.
-
JWP isn't the moving type, he's a home boy. I would love him to move on but expect he will end his career here - just to spite me!
-
Very tough start. We'll do well to squeeze 5 points from the opening eight matches. Hopefully some others will find it just as tough. How long will Ralph be given if we are bottom at the beginning of October? Our only hope may be a couple of surprise world class signings in July otherwise if we start with substantially the same squad that ended last season so poorly then our luck may finally have run out. Never been less optimistic for a new season.
-
Oh dear! Haven't we been here before?
-
Me too until now. They've sold my seats without any discussion or notification. That's loyalty for you. No explanation has been forthcoming so I am out of there probably for good. Will I miss it? Really doubt it, the Covid break has sort of weaned me off it.

As the man said, we intend to do all our business early so that we can settle in our squad pre-season and hit the ground running. Theo should be fit by August. 🍻

Lots of once famous names we would have given out eye teeth for now at the ends of their careers. Life is short for a top flight footballer.
-
Yep although I would have expressed it a little differently!
-
Yes indeed, the sliding doors at the Archers Road end were often forced open by crowds "waiting patiently" outside and invariably a couple of hundred or more would charge in before the stewards could force them closed again. As a kid I managed to sneak through there once for a Spurs Cup Tie only to be collared and chucked out again.

The game is faster, the athletes are far more powerful, the ball moves far more quickly, is lighter, never gets waterlogged and swerves about a lot more as players have learned how to apply spin.

Excuse me, the Dell record was over 31,000 - odd. I was one of them v Man U back in the sixties

The stadium was built by Barr. During the construction a visitor centre was established somewhere under the Chapel stand and the public could walk in and see the construction under way and use an interactive program to explore the expected views from every seat. While my wife & I were in there one day a whole squad of Leicester top brass were being shown around and as we know now, their stadium was announced soon afterwards. I understood the base model for SMS was The Riverside but obviously not quite so ambitious
-
The Club will be aware of this discussion thread so; SFC, what are you doing about it or will you just wait until part of the roof collapses before taking action?
-
Maintenance at SMS has alway been poor. For years the top of the folding players tunnel was dirty with dust and algae yet nothing was ever done about cleaning it even though the directors and visiting VIPs sat right behind the tunnel and couldn't miss the state it was in. Rank poor management.
-
The Club have succeeded in making my purchasing decision for me by selling my long held seats to somebody else despite those seats not being used at all since the restart because of player use and social distancing. They can't explain it, they can't retrieve them! Confirms how little they care about individual fans. Just get the money in lads, wherever it may come from. Sigh of relief! No more wasted Saturday's.
-
Quite frankly if Howe were became the height of the Club's managerial ambition then they would very soon deserve to be a top six club in League 1.
-
Never heard of him but then again I'd never heard of Hoedt, Lemina, Elyonoussi and Djenepo who all turned out to be super stars.
-
I like JWP's attitude and the way he has turned around his performances here since the early days but agree entirely with your observations. He fits perfectly the notion of the curates egg but falls short as an accomplished all-rounder. I can't see anybody coming in for him in all honesty.

The Comedy Gold is watching Ralph's team play the same old way every week with the same old outcomes. Face up to it, he's been found out!
-
Oh really? At what level' though. He's not doing very well in the PL is he. The same old chestnut from you worshippers, poor players and a lack of investment hampering his genius. You couldn't make it up. Grasp the nettle old chap he's been crap this season and even his own imports Djenepo & Diallo have not really turned into world beaters under his tutelage.
-
He might be unmanageable. Does his own thing and that's it? Would put most clubs off.
