  1. Smallbone also getting minutes in his legs so no disgrace for Nathan to turn out for the stiffs.
  2. Things do seem to be on the way up suddenly.
  3. That's simply dreadful, whatever your day job stick with it.
  4. If you think a bunch of idiots singing "You are watching F. S." all evening and clearly heard on the stream is "class" then shame on you. Nothing short of disgracefully embarrassing in my book.
  5. Just to point out that 4 of the penalty takes were late subs, only Armstrong from the starting XI took one. Seems to suggest that the other players who started were knackered and cramping up and Hasenhüttl deemed it too risky for them to take penalties.
  6. Theo hardly touched the ball after coming on. He is miles off the pace sadly and it is probably too late now for any kind of effective recovery. At least Smallbone got involved and had a couple of decent efforts. Armstrong is a long way off being the player we remember and Diallo's limitations were clearly on display. Lyanco looks like a half decent player. Salisu also superb. Well played Fraser Forster.
  7. So why not Livramento as an AMF? This is a game we are unlikely to win even with our strongest team so we might as well give the fringe lads a run out and hope Chelsea tire of scoring for fun. Also, do we need to be distracted by this competition with our PL performances causing concern?
  8. .....and he built us a new stadium. Imagine of we were still stuck with the Dell🤯
  9. Can you imagine getting on a coach that has no Tic Tacs on board?
  10. I agree with most of this. With the press calling for OGS's head after an unusual 5-0 defeat at home, Mr Hasenhüttl can count himself very fortunate indeed for making it to three years. In my head, three years of the best and worst of what he is able to serve up is enough and we should call time and move on but in my heart I would miss him as a person of high integrity and candour in an occupation not renowned for either. If we change nothing, nothing will change. I think we can rule out the "Roy of the Rovers" miraculous transformation that we all dream about most Friday evenings.
  11. Nathan Tella's exclusion is down to Hasenhüttl's poor judgement, simple as that.
  12. We must accept that this is where we are with our current team and system, as good as Burnley but no better nor worse. It may be unpalatable to some but in itself that is nothing to be ashamed of. Many of our fans have assumed for years that we are superior to Burnley in style of football and quality of players, that Burnley are dour and a bunch of spoilers and little else. What we discovered yesterday is that nothing could be further from the truth. This is a new style and much improved Burnley that can press and string passes together, defend brilliantly and play neat football as well and they certainly matched us for much of the game. To those who complain that this was two points loss to a poor team that we should have won, I would say neither of these teams are poor and both will finish up safely in lower mid-table. In terms of the detail which everyone has covered already it is clear to me but not to Herr Hasenhüttl that Livramento is always knackered after 65 minutes and his effectiveness lost as was the case again yesterday. With a near world class RB on the bench who came close to being Saints Player of the Season last year why on earth doesn't Ralph freshen things up by using him? My other question to Chino man is why are you not as patient and tolerant of Nathan Tella as you are with the two Chelsea imports. Start Nathan and give him a run of games in the PL and he too may develop into a class act? Just asking! Poor Theo, I felt a bit sorry for him left out there to struggle on when clearly he was having a mare. Surely Stuart Armstrong will start at Watford
  13. 3-0 will take us above Villa so that must be the objective. COYS
  14. I wonder why you can't be bothered to spell his name correctly?
  15. Yes, Yes and Yes again!
  16. Funny you should say that as Barca's keeper is out of contract and could move
  17. Wasn't Benitez an A lister ?????????????
  18. Not just you, I have highlighted this in several after match comments lately. It is unusual to sub a full back except through injury presumably because coaches consider this as a waste of a tactical substitution option. Th majority of our subs are for the 10 position or strikers.
  19. Don't forget the bloke who used to walk the touchline selling throat pastilles!
  20. Same starting XI as last week, agree with many that too early to start Stuart Armstrong. Why change a winning team? Having said that KWP could be more of a threat than Perraud down the left flank and may get the nod.
  21. 😉
  22. Semmens said recently (podcast) that contract renewals are now a top priority after the fiascos of losing Bertrand, Ings & Vestergaard and that several negotiations are on-going. I would expect Ralph to be keen to keep Mohammed Elyonoussi at St Mary's. This suggests to me that his agent has been busy dropping less than subtle hints for a pay rise and contract extension for a player who has found himself back in favour at Britannia Road. The Arsenal link is obviously ridiculous. They are most likely to be the next PL club to change managers long before Mohammed could leave on a free.
  23. Not only is JWP ponderous on the ball but when he is playing there seems to be a team instruction to always feed the ball to him, a tactic that virtually ensures that nearly every attack is brought to a halt while JWP works out which is the safest next pass to make, usually sideways or backwards. Meanwhile oppo's defenders have taken up position in their trenches. He is a very slow thinker. What was revealing yesterday was without these constraints our midfield play was much more fluid and inventive and often caught their defenders well out of position. One obvious benefit was how much more effective Redmond became by not always having to run at a brick wall. Luckily Ralph has form when it come to not changing a winning team so if we can do a repeat of yesterday on Burnley & Watford the chances are we can have a month without Ward Prowse to see how that goes.
  24. Of course we only beat poor teams, hadn't you realised that?
  25. Really good performance all round. Salisu clearly MotM. Redmond had one of his better games. Only a curmudgeon would find anything to complain about today. Armstrong showed glimpses of what we have missed. Worryingly for JWP we seemed to be more fluid in midfield, more linked up with the front runners and generally more cohesive without him. He should have to play for his place when his suspension ends and not be automatically shoe-horned in. Romeu is an equally good captain and Redmonds corners were arguably better than JWP's. Elyonoussi is gradually cementing his place in the side, he is a clever player and his little touches and runs are winning over fans who were previously critics. I was surprised that KWP didn't get on at 70 mins as Tino tired and showed signs of being stretched. As far as Broja is concerned, we must hope that he settles here and his parent club will let him stay for a couple of years.
