That would certainly be an improvement on the usual Northam intelligentsia's chorus of YAWFS. Canaries should have a good range of songs of their own

We need to slow down a bit on our expectations of Small, there was only the odd glimpse of the lad on the video highlights and that's when he scored his goal. As somebody above commented it is best to watch these lads playing live to form sound judgements. Other players shone in the Crawley match as well especially Payne, Mitchell and Olaigbe and these lads and Simeu have starred in previous games. Payne and Olaigbe have been doing well lately and are catching the eye. I hope these lads are beginning to catch Ralph's eye so that next summer he has a headache over which of them if any should step up to the first team squad. Is it to much to hope that some of the current first team squad fringe players could be looking over their shoulders nervously? On the other hand we have been along this path before with young players..

Farke will get another job and do well, there will be no shortage of suitors. Another Nigel Adkins story, just falling short at the highest level although to be fair was Nigel ever given a fair chance at the PL? Granted his replacement was rather special and took us to another level even if it took red hot coals to ignite them!
-
He was having a poor game before that, just gone off the boil a little plus other clubs are getting wise to his style of play. A little bit stale mentally needs a bit of R & R.
-
Of course.

Stop Gap. If the Toon are relegated because of FPP rules preventing mass signings in January then Howe might be the perfect person to drag them back up to the PL next season. Thus the Club has at least 18 months to look around for a top class manager and paying off Howe will be peanuts to the new owners

Don't fall for that old chestnut, it's naive mind games to try to unsettle Saints who surprise, surprise are their next opponents. Ralph is rock solid with Saints, he isn't going anywhere for quite a while yet!
-
You're way off the pace mate, most people had a pop a few days ago. Need to wake up and catch up! Opinions are opinions no more, no less than that; even if you disagree you do not need to be offensive to people you have never met and hopefully never will. Replies like your are mindless drivel that spoils this forum. Play the ball not the man!

Farke and Smith have been in their jobs for several years so nothing knee jerk about either decision, in fact just the opposite both Clubs have taken far too long to take action.
-
The implication being that to be beaten by Saints is the ultimate humiliation! How insulting is that. We are a bloody good team and it is no disgrace to lose to Saints. Let's hope that Klopp gets the chop when we put one over on The Scousers.

Having watched the lamentable performance of ManU today, can't help thinking they'll be in for Hasenhüttl this week. He is a perfect fit for them. Yep. I fear you'll be crucified for sexism LD "We’d have lost that game earlier in the year. Villa’s 15 min spell just after half time would have resulted in a goal and then we’d have crumbled like big girls blouses and lost 3-1"

Smetana is a composer and is Czech!

We are quite used to Saints becoming a one half team, how weird is that? They look like the same players turning out after half time but not in the way they play. Good win 'though but why did we need to go into "panic stations" mode after the break when clearly we were the better team on the day. We need more self belief and that starts with you Herr Ralph. Two points to take from yesterday. Livramento was poor and needs a rest, the kid is knackered. Too much football, too soon. Good to see you are nurturing our youngsters Herr Ralph! Sky team said there were 30k at SMS yesterday. There were not! Clear gaps could be seen by everyone all over the stadium, 20/22k tops is my estimate. Yep! I know all about ST seats being counted come what may and so on.

Expect Tella to come on as a sub striker this evening, assuming we start with Armstrong / Broja. McCarthy; Livramento-Bednarek-Salisu-Walker Peters; Romeu-Ward Prowse; Redmond-Broja-Armstrong- Elyonoussi Match Subs; Armstrong, Adams, Tella. No excuses tonight, 3-0 is the least we should expect although Mane's absence doesn't help.
-
It is unlikely that Chelsea are in a position to dictate when they want Livramento back, the clause would more likely come into play if or when Southampton put him on the transfer list. If Livramento wanted to stay here for 4 or 5 years then there is nothing Chelsea would be able to do about it. At least that would be my expectation. Broja's situation is a different kettle of fish of course.

The point you have missed completely is that Ralph does not have an abundance of world class players at his disposal, the players he has cost very little and he is trying to juggle them around as best he can to find effective combinations. Indeed it would be remiss of him not to explore all the options at his disposal. None of the players you mention are bad players as you seem to imply, they are the sort of players we can expect to attract in our current stringent financial circumstances and is indicative of the pecking order in PL football. Of course if he had Ronaldo & Messi he would no doubt get better results. I have an up and down relationship with our Austrian friend but there are signs that something different has happened recently, confidence seems to be growing and results are coming. If we beat Villa 3-0 tomorrow no doubt even you might be prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt. To suggest Koeman or Nunez could do more with our squad is hypothetical nonsense. These people would be faced with the same problem of "clearing the deadwood" - as they would see it - and recruiting the types pf players that would fit their respective styles of play. Rome was not built in a day, Nunez built Wolves success over a number of seasons and with a quite respectable budget. In effect he was allowed to go out and buy the Portugeuse national team. Be very, very careful what you wish for.
-
I feel sorry for Nunez, what the hell is he supposed to achieve in 10 matches? He's best out of it. Ralph has had three years and things are just about coming together for him now. Truth is Spurs are a mess under the leadership of a guy who clearly has no idea how to run a successful PL club. With the cost of the new stadium hovering over them how soon before they are declared bankrupt.

More credibility if he had been Bob

Is it becoming inevitable that the English Premier League will end up with no English managers and possibly no English players? What then for our beloved national game and how soon will the franchise de-camp to the US or Middle East? The English Premier League is becoming less English by the day

The conclusion from last Saturday's performance is that Armstrong is overly anxious and as a result over trying so causing himself more problems than he is solving. Evidently he is brilliant on the ball, once in possession the ball seems to stick to his feet rather like Boufal and clearly defenders are scared of touching him in the box. Instead of shooting every time he nears goal he needs to improve his pacing and awareness of where his team mates and oppo defenders are and choose the right option. He needs to understand that an assist is as valuable as a goal, 10 goals and 10 assists will please as much as trying to impress by notching the elusive 20 goals benchmark for top strikers.

A mix of cynicism and despair. Never rule out the possibility that some players may actually love being here and playing for Ralph. We were told early on that Mohammed Salisu was a sensitive and shy lad not helped by being in a completely strange environment and culture. There seems to have been some sort of transformation in his confidence, no doubt helped by the likes of Kelvin Davies. Young players need the right sort of guidance and support during their development and may actually see the people offering that as part of their 'family' and these bonds might be stronger than one might realise. There is clearly a comradely buzz around the club at the moment and a sense of togetherness. If nothing else changes and solid progress is made then I do not see him being in a hurry to leave, expect to see him in a Saints shirt for several years ahead.

Isn't hindsight great.

Smallbone also getting minutes in his legs so no disgrace for Nathan to turn out for the stiffs.

Things do seem to be on the way up suddenly.

That's simply dreadful, whatever your day job stick with it.
