  1. That's why you would fail as a business man. It makes good sense for Plan C......
  2. Back from where, I didn't know he'd been away
  3. Agree. I think he is jaded and has lost a bit of confidence, if you noticed he's more prone to passing backwards now rather than taking a man on. His one on one defending has looked bit shaky too. It has cost us and for large parts of his last couple of games the right wing threat has diminished. As to his future, it is good for us that James has been so outstanding for Chelsea that the spotlight on Livramento may have dimmed somewhat.
  4. I see 10, really.
  5. This thread is one of the worst ever to appear on the forum. Some loon invents a nickname for one of our reasonably decent players as a put down and then encourages others to jump on a band wagon and trash him. Shame on those who fell into his trap. This childish idiocy makes me sick, why don't you sod off CAH61 and find another club to support as clearly Saints are nor for you.
  6. Ralph looked pissed off after yesterday's capitulation. Never heard him blame players before. If Man U come in for him he'll go
  7. Impressive analysis.
  8. The knives are out for Walcott but there were atrocious performances all over the park today, McCarthy, Livramento, Broja all clueless. Diallo is a defender not a No 10 Ralph! We are turning into a one half team; Smith neutralised us again today as he did in the second half against Villa. Obviously doesn't take much craft to knock us off our stride but to be frank we had so much possession in the fist half to have been 4-1 up. Nobody can blame Walcott for the abysmal lack of composure and quality in the 18 yard box in those first 45 mins.
  9. What an insult, one of the questions on Millionaire last night was about which club suffered two 9-0 defeats in the PL and the contestant got it right. Better news that Harry went home with Nowt - out on the 'gimme' questions at the start, can you believe that.
  10. Where abouts in North London do you live? Hampstead? Bishops Avenue? Do tell.....
  11. So did Maya Yoshida and his family often dined in the restaurant below. Saw them in there several times.
  12. Indeed it was but as resident of CF at the time it was puzzling to understand why they would want to live there. Thornden School used to be the best comprehensive in Hampshire so that may have been one attraction. Bally's daughter was in the same class as my younger son. Of course players salaries were much lower then than now and the days of gold plated palaces hidden from view were still to come. Alan Ball's property and Mark Wright's IIRC were modest even by the standards then.
  13. Maybe but the Potters Heron became globally known as a setting for important contracts not that long ago.
  14. Totton by-pass, M271, M27, M3 to Winchester............... 10 mins at the most in their motors........ make that 5! Staplewood is an idyllic location to work every day, far from prying eyes and the madding crowd.
  15. Form matters and we are in form. Norwich will be out to impress their new boss but he can't work miracles in a week especially in an international break week with key players away. Unlikely he will put up the shutters at home as the home fans would crucify him for not being more adventurous so could be an open game that suits us better. Smith worked out how to nullify our threat in the second half last time out so will have that card up his sleeve from the start. For that reason Ralph might elect to go with different formation at the start just to confuse Smith and try to force him into an early unsettling tactical change. We could then see a different game after about 30 minutes. First half goals are important to us even if there is time for only one. I think we will win the tactical battle just about and head home with a 2-1 victory especially with the 3A's finding some form.
  16. In fairness to Ralph and the Club, none of the trio of Bertrand, Ings & Vestergaard were sold willingly in the summer (assuming they were our best players) - all refused to sign on again for us. We did not set out to sell any of our best players to raise funds and I'm certain we will not be doing so next summer. This has become an urban myth. If players won't sign a new contract then there is little Ralph or the Club can do about it. That doesn't make us a selling club, it means there are some deeper problems within our culture, organisation or environment that turn players right off during their time here so they want out once their contracts end. This is the issue that needs to be addressed because we will never improve if we cannot hold on to our best talent. One suspects the simple word ambition might be tucked in there somewhere as well. Of course it can also be simply down to money; that all players are greedy sods just out to get the fattest wedge they can lay their sweaty palms on.
  17. Don't be too sure about that!
  18. Very pessimistic. We are not in danger of relegation this season. The quality gulf between promoted clubs and mid table PL clubs is huge and will continue to grow which should ensure our future in the PL. More often than not the three clubs that get promoted will become the three clubs relegated in the following season. It's happening now. If this becomes the 'norm' inevitably there will be calls for a closed league. Witness last night's travesty; where was the satisfaction in beating a minnow 10-0. What was the point of them actually being in the competition.
  19. Does smack a bit of desperation. Is he having some emotional problems handling his dismissal and panicking to get back into the PL at the first opportunity? Big mistake. Needs to cool down a bit, take some time out and enjoy the pay-off dosh. Cool heads make better decisions. Something like 'marry in haste'........ ?
  20. That would certainly be an improvement on the usual Northam intelligentsia's chorus of YAWFS. Canaries should have a good range of songs of their own
  21. We need to slow down a bit on our expectations of Small, there was only the odd glimpse of the lad on the video highlights and that's when he scored his goal. As somebody above commented it is best to watch these lads playing live to form sound judgements. Other players shone in the Crawley match as well especially Payne, Mitchell and Olaigbe and these lads and Simeu have starred in previous games. Payne and Olaigbe have been doing well lately and are catching the eye. I hope these lads are beginning to catch Ralph's eye so that next summer he has a headache over which of them if any should step up to the first team squad. Is it to much to hope that some of the current first team squad fringe players could be looking over their shoulders nervously? On the other hand we have been along this path before with young players..
  22. Farke will get another job and do well, there will be no shortage of suitors. Another Nigel Adkins story, just falling short at the highest level although to be fair was Nigel ever given a fair chance at the PL? Granted his replacement was rather special and took us to another level even if it took red hot coals to ignite them!
  23. He was having a poor game before that, just gone off the boil a little plus other clubs are getting wise to his style of play. A little bit stale mentally needs a bit of R & R.
  24. Of course.
  25. Stop Gap. If the Toon are relegated because of FPP rules preventing mass signings in January then Howe might be the perfect person to drag them back up to the PL next season. Thus the Club has at least 18 months to look around for a top class manager and paying off Howe will be peanuts to the new owners
