You can't of course is the answer and as Ralph constantly reminds us this league is getting stronger and stronger each year. It is inevitable in my view that our current model will see us relegated possibly this year but if not this then very soon afterwards.

Ralph wistfully reflecting on his career and his time here today in his PC. Could signal his exit soon.

So, are we expecting this to be Hasenhüttl's home swan-song in the Premier League? How will you say Auf Weidersehn, with cheers or boos? ..and will it be with a last hurrah for his barmy 4-2-2-2 line up -

So we're playing 11 against 4, that will even things up a bit. Good chance of forcing a draw. -
...and me. Obviously has an inflated sense of his own importance on here. No self-awareness whatsoever. Why are we talking about him even?

Let's hope so!

WTF was that all nonsense all about? Surely not in the spirit of B team football. I feel sorry for the Middlesboro lads, lambs to the effing slaughter. What's even more embarrassing, even at this level MaCarthy was beaten at his near post flailing his arms about like a bloody windmill yet he gets paid a fortune for this.

What a load of blinkered rollocks. What about all the other players of high potential that have been brought in under Hasenhüttl's various regimes yet disappeared without trace. Where on earth did you get the idea that he is able to turn potential into stardom? There is not a shred of evidence to support such dreamy wishful thinking. The bloke has had nigh on 4 years to prove his credentials here, how much longer do you think he deserve to be given FFS.

Excellent summary!

How much longer can this agony go on? Another appallingly inept performance with the inevitable outcome. Wonder what excuses will be trotted out this time. Surely the time is up for this clueless clown? Get him out!
-
Bloody stupid decision to send him out on loan in the first place when it became clear we had only Adams & Armstrong as our strike force. How did they figure he wouldn't get enough game time this season. He would have been almost guaranteed to be subbed on in pretty much every match and on the form he is in would soon have established himself as a starter.

Perhaps Hasenhüttl was incapable of getting the best out of these players as they were unsuited to his crappy 4 2 2 2 set up?

Southampton Sunak ( 1 ) v Portsmouth Morduant ( 0 )

On the other hand he has stated quite often that he would love to be Chairman of SFC. Why not as he'll need a job in 2024. In fairness his family started from humble origins and worked their butts off to send him to a decent school and wouldn't we all love to marry into serious money? -
We are their feeder club now, goals galore from the ex-Saints and Burnley go top. If they go up and we go down Nathan will have made the right choice. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/62762046

Why not just close this thread and stop giving the idiot publicity.

Southampton 1-1 Arsenal - Match Thread

On another day both players would have been sent off, controlled aggression is fine as long as it is within the rules and spirit of the game but outright thuggery should be neither admired nor encouraged. How does it help us if players are being sent off regularly? Skill over physical intimidation any day please, we are the Saints and and have always played our way out of trouble with attractive football. If punch-ups are your thing then go watch Boxing. -
You refer contemptuously to the 'Ralph Out Brigade\ as if it was just one or two hecklers on the sidelines calling for him to go. Did you not see the recent poll on here where over 75% of sainst web users want rid? Wake up and sniff the coffee before you write your next load of tripe!

Southampton 1-1 Arsenal - Match Thread

JWP has shot his bolt and needs a spell on the bench to rest and get his head sorted out. He is a shadow of the player of the last couple of seasons and more like the one of 5 years ago when people groaned every time his name was announced as a starter. Nothing is working for him at the moment. Not one of his corners today caused the Gunners any problems and his free kicks are no longer as daunting to the opposition as they once were. More infuriatingly he has resorted to his old habits of sideways and backwards passes that breaks up our play and allows opponents to sort out their defensive shape before we attack. Today Diallo showed him up by his ball skills as he skipped past defenders. -

Er, KWP not worth a mention??? -
He may be our player in principle but his relationship with the club will have soured after he was farmed out to Burnley (perhaps unwillingly even?). All the usual management crap about giving him game time is just political claptrap, truth is the club more or less told him that he wasn't good enough to get that game time here. If Nathan 's form continues and he keeps scoring at the current rate then he will be a hot property and a few clubs will be looking at him quite seriously not least Burnley themselves who could well find their way back to the top flight at the first attempt. He has settled in well there and if Burnley are a Premier League team next season and Nathan was key part of getting them there then, why would he want to come back here to be treated like **** again by Hasenhüttl but even more pertinently why would Burnley want to let him go. It will be embarrassing for the decision makers when one of the loanees actually turns out to be a hidden gem and the player tells them to sod off when they try to make a claim on him. His success will have had nothing to do with Flopp, it will be down to the skills of the Burnley coaching staff. Good luck Nathan!
