  1. How could you say it would be a bargain if nobody has ever heard of him. I'd call it a speculative gamble and probably a waste of money.
  2. Never believe rumours of course but let's say for once this one proves correct, it would be typical of the Austrian Flopp to write off a player before the poor sod had hardly had a chance to prove himself in the first team. One wonders if his judgements are made purely on footballing grounds or something much more personal and sinister like backroom divisions or inter-departmental strife. How is it that a next to useless layabout like Redmond seems incapable of doing anything wrong in Flopp's eyes yet Lyanco - according to these rumours - is on his way out already. It doesn't make any sense at all. From what I've seen of the guy he is well worth persisting with and brings a sorely lacking sense of adventure and excitement to the otherwise predictably dour and boring displays that the current Saints seem to specialise in.
  3. I should forget it, apart from domestic arrangement issues, the fare being served up under Coco the Clown isn't worth watching
  4. Neymar is available
  5. Sometimes you have to move (apparently) backwards in order to move forward again. JWP has done more or less all he can for Saints and if we can buy two half decent players with the money raised from his transfer how. can that not be a benefit in the longer term?. If everything stays the same through an abundance of caution then inevitably we will get the same old results.
  6. About £1.80 for 2kgs in Sainsbury's
  7. I would sell him now while he still has market value and insist on cash so that we can buy a decent £25m attacking midfielder and proven £25m striker. I doubt we will get more than £50m for him. It's a win-win really, we get much needed reinforcements, JWP gets a bigger pay check and a new challenge for trophies which he ain't gonna get stuck down here. Realistically though I doubt he has the bottle to leave. He is a home lad by nature and will find it too hard emotionally to leave an area he has known all his life to settle in some outback third world county like Merseyside or Tyneside
  8. Probably a blessing in disguise. He is not the 20 goal a season striker that our survival depends upon. Doubtful he is any better than Adams otherwise why would Chelsea sell him?
  9. I saw him play at Fratton Park against Portsmouth in the late 50's. It was the only League 1 football on offer in these parts in those days with Saints plying their trade in Div 2 & 3.
  10. Didn't we get £75 for van Dick several years ago?
  11. No we are not, everyone has an off day but not dozens of them at a time!
  12. You have something very much in common with Ralphie, you both enjoy taking the piss!
  13. Basically he needs to be moved on. Why does anybody think he will be more successful with this new crop of youngsters than he was with the last lot. I fear it is wishful thinking and we will have another season clinging onto the ledge and hoping that somebody comes along with a safety net in time. His brand of football evidently doesn't work very well in the PL irrespective of the ex-coaches or the players carrying the can. Nowhere to hide now Ralphie! Expect Saints to struggle and a new manager by Christmas 🤞
  14. If true then the Bindippers will already have him on their south facing radar. van Dick will soon be over the hill. Perfect timing for them.
  15. Why not just put him on "Ignore" rather than give air to his views. None of it is relevant to Saints after all.
  16. how about red & white hooped socks as a compromise
  17. We could have solved that problem by appointing a new manager.
  18. A whole new language is bursting forth today, no longer do we need Goalkeepers now superseded by Glovesmen. Soon we'll have line runners, boxmen and ball retrievers.
  19. Signing two goalies is a clear signal that we intend to import two top, top players for every position.... bring it on. Starting with eleven new faces at the TH Stadium would certainly bring some excitement back to St Mary's Meanwhile I am counting down the days until Redmond's taxi arrives. "Where to, sir?" "Any(bloody)where mate, just take the road to Winchester and keep going North!"
  20. Not wise to write off Lyanco, there's the makings of a very decent player in there and the new coach may well be able to turn him into a class act. I've always liked the cut of his jib and he has the personality to become a Saints legend.
  21. SFC seem to show scant interest in the availability of the sites adjacent the stadium as we saw about a year ago when he aggregates site was up for sale. This suggests either a lack of ambition on the part of the club to develop the facilities at the stadium or recognition that the stadium location is too restrictive because of the associated access and transportation problems and so not ideal for any future enlargement development.
  22. He is not top six material at all and would not be a regular starter for any of them, he is not fast enough or clever enough to oust the myriad of world class midfielders at those clubs. His alleged dead ball kicking brilliance is of scant benefit to clubs that do not rely on set pieces to win matches. His level is Wolves, WHU, Leicester or even Villa but no higher. If he was better than that Saints would not be languishing near the bottom of the table year after year.
  23. That's 1 point from the first six games then. Guarantees us 20th spot in the table at the end of September and I'm an optimist!
  24. Too many tinker men in modern football. It ain't broke!
