  1. Is there anybody better who'd want to come here, that's the question. Even if it all goes tits up at Elland Road still he must be given a fair crack of the whip. Maybe Benitez as DoF leaves the way clear for Selles
  2. He needs to bring our Croatian players in from the cold this week and put an arm around them. Whatever has happened is in the past. We want our best 16 players on the pitch for every match. No more outsiders and favourites. …and Forum Fans please get rid of your prejudices and give everyone a chance. If Selles thinks they're good enough to be on the pitch then get behind them all.
  3. In his case a free kick on the edge of the box is as good as a goal anyway which is what the opposition fear most so no need to bugger about trying to confuse them and ending up only confusing ourselves.
  4. Utter tosh! The guy obviously loves football and is still fit enough to play so why not? Good on him. We all have hobbies.
  5. Give it a rest mate, you're becoming the forum bore. Give the bloke a bit of slack, Selles probably knows far more about his Ss & Ws than any of us.
  6. Selles had only a couple of days to sort out Jones' mess in time for Saturday and was almost bound to rely on a group that were at least match fit and had played together recently. He also wanted older heads in there to help keep things together when the inevitable counter pressure came. Many subs were needed because of lack of match fitness of new arrivals. Setting aside one's own prejudices can help better understanding.
  7. Admiring one of your old mentors doesn't mean you want him/her back again to dominate your life. Selles would probably think "been there done that" No fun being permanently in the shadows.
  8. What struck me was his lack of ego, his positivity and shining intelligence, almost the complete opposite of what we have had to endure these past three months. I could listen to him for hours and not get bored. Dare we hope (and pray) that potentially we may have a superb new manager in prospect hidden in plain view. Surely we all wish him well and hope he gets a fair crack of the whip. Suddenly it feels like the impossible may be possible after all.
  9. Never understood the nonsensical expression "at a young age" but it is obviously a fashionable thing to say in football circles. Cringeworthy in the extreme.
  10. Much depends on the photographer, you only get to see the pics he takes. Politics in pictures? Prefer videos myself then you can make up your own minds. Good to see Dave Horseman involved although it may be all hands to the pumps for a couple of matches. Maybe time for him to step up.
  11. …but surely the fans opinions are important, as the man said "without fans what's the point". I am very much in favour of fan representation on the board but fully understand all the hurdles and hazards that come with such a utopian vision.
  12. What's wrong with a probationary period to prove yourself before everyone decides if they can go forward together? Sounds like a very adult way of doing things. Most of us had to serve probationary periods at some point in our lives. Avoid relegation and you get the fat juicy contract, what's wrong with that. Obviously not a challenge that Marsch was prepared to take on so good effing riddance to him.
  13. Indeed. He wasn't my choice either or anywhere near it. We've been spared another fiasco.
  14. Keep telling them what they want to hear, it works miracles wherever you are in the world. Good to have you on board 'though and look forward to your further participation.
  15. The only problem with his teams is that they can't stop the ball going into their own net. Should work a treat here, job already done for him.
  16. Just watching that tirade of foul mouthed abuse destroys any illusion that he might be the right choice for us. We've just rid ourselves of one vociferous inarticulate oaf so why on earth we would want another is beyond me. Surely we can find somebody with a bit more class and eloquence than this obnoxious vulgar idiot.
  17. I fear that will be the fans' response to whoever we pick other than Pochettino and the Koeman Brotherhood.
  18. More Mane-esque. Very high potential.
  19. Retractions need careful timing
  20. Surely you haven't swallowed all that bullish!t about him not having had the freedom to express his own style of play. We've seen all he has to offer, if you are hoping for a transformative style of play tomorrow that will sweep aside Wolves and other relegation candidates then I fear you are in for a massive disappointment.
  21. We cannot afford to lose, it's as simple as that. Jones is a distraction albeit an irksome, tedious and imbecilic one
  22. We're down so get used to it.The Villa match was our last chance and we blew it. 4 wins in 21 and we need at least 7 in the next 17. How does that work? It doesn't!
  23. Doubtful many will leave because of contract situations. Those out of contract and no longer part of our plans will be released eg Walcott & Elyonoussi Some who feel they have been badly treated will no doubt want to be away and we could lose S Armstrong & Djenepo and maybe Perraud in this way. I am not expecting a fire sale even if decent offers come in. SP seem to imply money will not be an issue. Offers most likely on Lavia, KWP & JWP but we don’t have to accept unless players refuse to carry on with us. The teams that bounce back seem to hold on to their best player’s, Jones is obviously a complicating factor.
  24. One aspect that you have missed is the impact that the Fan’s Forum will have on the man himself. Nobody with an ounce of self awareness and self respect would want to continue in the job after watching and hearing what was said about him on Tuesday evening. It would be an arrogant and totally insensitive person indeed who could ignore that and think that he can brush it aside and just carry on as usual Also what will the players think having heard all that abuse piled on their manager. It is bound to affect their attitude towards him and their willingness to respond. I really do think we have crossed a point of no return. What has been said cannot be unsaid. The damage is done and is permanent.
  25. Ah but why if we win 4-0 on Saturday? Just asking.
