Let's hope that all this goodwill towards Selles will not be dissipated this afternoon if we get a set-back at Elland Road. We need a long term project of stability not knee-jerk reactions to every result. All we need to see are real signs of progress in our playing style and the team giving of its best against a side that are equally as desperate as us to avoid the drop. It will be a battle from beginning to end especially if nobody scores in the first half. Ideally for Saints will be if Sulemana and Onuachu can start finding the back of the net in the first half and we can carry a 2-0 lead into the break. If not and Leeds grab one then we will be in a desperate untidy fight for our lives. Whatever guys and gals, give the new coaching set-up a chance so please no post match slagging from the usual doom and gloom mongers who only visit this site to vent their spleen (when we lose) against everything and everyone. Hope is our future and one result either way shouldn't change that.

In his case a free kick on the edge of the box is as good as a goal anyway which is what the opposition fear most so no need to bugger about trying to confuse them and ending up only confusing ourselves.

Selles had only a couple of days to sort out Jones' mess in time for Saturday and was almost bound to rely on a group that were at least match fit and had played together recently. He also wanted older heads in there to help keep things together when the inevitable counter pressure came. Many subs were needed because of lack of match fitness of new arrivals. Setting aside one's own prejudices can help better understanding.

What's wrong with a probationary period to prove yourself before everyone decides if they can go forward together? Sounds like a very adult way of doing things. Most of us had to serve probationary periods at some point in our lives. Avoid relegation and you get the fat juicy contract, what's wrong with that. Surely you haven't swallowed all that bullish!t about him not having had the freedom to express his own style of play. We've seen all he has to offer, if you are hoping for a transformative style of play tomorrow that will sweep aside Wolves and other relegation candidates then I fear you are in for a massive disappointment.
