  1. Tickets have been on general sale for some time. I grabbed a good seat in the Itchen for about £35, much cheaper than normal.
  2. I use a random number generator for the Lotto so should be a multi millionaire by now but sadly I am not!
  3. Fully understand your dilemma but I suspect you will not be able to resist renewal. The only thing that stopped me was the pandemic and the screw up at the ticket office that led to our seats being sold to a.n. other without checking with us first. Now I go along to the occasional match that costs me £60 a shot! Much cheaper with a season ticket so unless you are experiencing real hardship stick with it. Not only that, you will lose your favourite seat for good and that hurts. I will start again next season if a decent seat vacancy crops up.
  4. Sorry, only allowed three posts per day so had none left. Can't remember now why I put a check mark against your post.
  5. With fans like you who needs enemies?
  6. Can we assume that you are either Snr Alcaraz or his brother?
  7. Last night's result is bound to have an impact on our match. The manager will demand a reaction but there might also be sweeping team changes with fringe players getting their chance. We should expect to be under considerable pressure from the get-go and probably need to dig in and ride our luck for the first twenty minutes. If we can withstand that and the game settles down to a less frantic place and it is still 0-0 then we have a chance of getting something from the match. If we concede early on then we could be in for a drubbing. This will not be a game for the faint hearted. My gut feeling is we'll buckle in that first twenty minutes and end up losing 3-0.
  8. The young lads played very well last night and thoroughly deserved their victory. There were several outstanding performances in a generally superb team performance notably Doyle, who capped an all round terrific performance with two excellent goals and the left back Meghoma who looks a real prospect and could one day continue the Saints tradition of developing international LB's. Hewlett also worked his socks off at CB to snuff out most of the threats offered by PNE and produced a level of reassurance in defence that we never see at senior level. Ballard and Dibling get all the plaudits but there are others in this team that are equally good prospects for our future. The match was an interesting contrast of styles with PNE playing fast, aggressive linear football whilst Saints were true to the 'Playbook' and making it look easy, passing the ball quickly, accurately and intricately whilst finding great forward positions in good spaces between the lines. Very fluid and at times it was almost an exhibition class. In fact they were so good at it that the question is bound to be asked why the senior pro's can't do this anywhere near as well. Is it a case of old dogs, new tricks whilst kids have nothing to unlearn? It shouldn't be as a lot of these players have worked for several years with the 'playbook' model. For once an evening full of hope and optimism and a welcome distraction from the grim reality of this season's first team performances.
  9. How does a thread like this help anybody? Of course people are depressed about our current situation and style of play and of course the morale and confidence of our players' is at rock bottom. It only needs one of our players to read this tripe for it to be all around the dressing room. If there is a collective sense that they are all held in very low esteem by 'fans', why would you imagine then that they would give a toss when they run onto the pitch and whether or not the club get relegated. They can opt out at any time and find employment elsewhere and as always fans are the only ones left standing to count the cost. As we've observed many time before everything about a football club is temporary except the fans. It is in our interests not to be the architects of our own downfall. "In good times and bad"… you know the marriage contract. All this whinging and carping is doing is playing to the baying mob and helping destroy our club.
  10. No they weren't! We all see things differently. In real time and I was watching neither incident was clear and obvious. The ref seemed to ignore the fact that the Grimsby bloke hit DCC in the back with his arm causing DCC to retaliate. Lots around me thought Lyanco had got his head on the ball not his arm.
  11. It's about time all FL grounds were equipped with VAR. How fair is is that FA Cup matches can be subjected to different levels of scrutiny just because some have VAR and others do not? This is case where the LCD should apply and VAR switched off. Theo's goal was a great goal and would (and should) have stood had the match been played at Grimsby. So we get penalised because we have higher tech. Similarly neither of their dubious penalties would have been given, even the ref couldn't make up his mind in real time. This is not straw clutching it is a genuine concern that the the playing field is not level for FA Cup matches.
  12. Is the Pope a catholic? How long is a piece of string? Why does a coffin need nails? Is the cat in the box?
  13. Don't be so spineless, we'll win this match easily probably by around 5-0. It may not help us much in the league but will do wonders for the fans. Would be doubly delicious if Ballard gets a run out.
  14. How does a thread like this help the team or the player. With fans like the OP it is no surprise that the players couldn't care less whether they win or lose.
  15. We were in Division 3, how can that have been better than now?
  16. Here we go again, moan, moan, moan.
  17. "When Selles goes marching in" ?
  18. Let's hope that all this goodwill towards Selles will not be dissipated this afternoon if we get a set-back at Elland Road. We need a long term project of stability not knee-jerk reactions to every result. All we need to see are real signs of progress in our playing style and the team giving of its best against a side that are equally as desperate as us to avoid the drop. It will be a battle from beginning to end especially if nobody scores in the first half. Ideally for Saints will be if Sulemana and Onuachu can start finding the back of the net in the first half and we can carry a 2-0 lead into the break. If not and Leeds grab one then we will be in a desperate untidy fight for our lives. Whatever guys and gals, give the new coaching set-up a chance so please no post match slagging from the usual doom and gloom mongers who only visit this site to vent their spleen (when we lose) against everything and everyone. Hope is our future and one result either way shouldn't change that.
  19. A welcome return to mediocrity.
  20. Oh gosh! Genuinely sad news. A few of us oldies can be forgiven for shedding a tear today. Far to early leave us John, far too early.
  21. Is there anybody better who'd want to come here, that's the question. Even if it all goes tits up at Elland Road still he must be given a fair crack of the whip. Maybe Benitez as DoF leaves the way clear for Selles
  22. He needs to bring our Croatian players in from the cold this week and put an arm around them. Whatever has happened is in the past. We want our best 16 players on the pitch for every match. No more outsiders and favourites. …and Forum Fans please get rid of your prejudices and give everyone a chance. If Selles thinks they're good enough to be on the pitch then get behind them all.
  23. In his case a free kick on the edge of the box is as good as a goal anyway which is what the opposition fear most so no need to bugger about trying to confuse them and ending up only confusing ourselves.
  24. Utter tosh! The guy obviously loves football and is still fit enough to play so why not? Good on him. We all have hobbies.
