I hope this is a wind-up but if not then b*llocks to Semmens and Anderson and anybody else who had a finger in this particular pie. That's me done and dusted with your whole bloody excuse for a football club. Still that's one thing to strike off my "to do" list. Great start to uniting the fanbase. Typical Saints whoever happens to be running the show. FFS

If we are to be brutally frank, it doesn't matter a fishes tit whether we win, lose or draw at Brighton or against the Scousers, it'll be totally meaningless. The sooner this miserable season is wound up and filed under Trash the better. What masochistic pleasure one will derive from travelling to Brighton to watch this bunch of cretins making complete arses of themselves is beyond me.

You did, you said Larios and Diallo were DS

Will season ticket prices be released now and will you renew?
Charlie Wayman replied to Paul Chuckle's topic in The Saints
Seats at £60 per match in the Championship? You must be rich to take that in your stride. £30 would in my view be daylight robbery. -
Love Letter to Southampton Football Club

A somewhat gloomy observation especially bearing in mind how many of us on this forum attended those matches as well. You must have been a fan of "One Foot in the Grave" -
I'm with you on this. Surely those idiots upstairs who got us into this mess in the first place still don't think they have such magical insight as to pluck unknown people out of obscurity and turn them into world beaters. They made that mistake with Jones and then compounded it with Selles; to allow them to do it again is beyond a dereliction of duty by the owners, Ankerson & Semmens shouldn't be anywhere near the selection process. Should they appoint this bloke then that's me defo counted out as a potential ST buyer for next season and likely not the only one. I am sick of low rent, low expectations.
-
Must be Ruben Selles then.
-
Hear, bloody hear! A predictable disaster entirely avoidable by not starting threads on him that those idiots upstairs might interpret as him being the fans choice. Don't add oxygen to a fire!

When I read guff like this my heart sinks at the thought of us signing yet another unknown 'hidden gem' who we know in our heart of hearts will fail abysmally if he ever got the job. Put it this way, I'd be less alarmed if Neil Warnock turned up in Britannia Road

You're twenty years older so a lot more sanguine about these things and life in general…. been there, done that!

Depends on the prices. What choice do we have it's hard wired into our souls. -
Tis easier said than done my friends
-
Yep but what's the answer? We can't afford to buy proven PL players so we are stuck with trying to find future stars from the other major leagues around the world and of course a high proportion of these won't be good enough. We don't have wealth so must gamble. It's why we all do Euromillions.
-
Not much help can you publish pictures of their arses, its easier to recognise them from the back when they're bending over to pick the ball out of the net
-
It's all very well recruiting players that know what it takes to do well in the Championship but surely the plan must be to build a squad that can return us to the PL and stay there. The sort of players you have in mind will not be able to compete at the higher level so we'd end up back where we started. Futile.

Maitland-Niles' nightmare in Nottingham
Charlie Wayman replied to Fraser Spinney's topic in The Saints
I have a horrible feeling in my gut that the club will sign AMN on a permanent four-year deal in the summer and there's sod all we can do about it. -
Maitland-Niles' nightmare in Nottingham

Far too much information. What they do in private is up to them but not on football pitch. -
Agree, he's a tremendous asset to have around the club. Love to be a fly on the wall at team training sessions. Bet he doesn't tolerate slackers easily, still wonder what was going on between him and Tella last season, maybe a few home truths made Tella a better player ?
-
The characteristic you and others are searching for and missing is "blind panic"….. I certainly wouldn't want him anywhere near the cockpit if the jet plane I was on had an engine catch fire in mid-air.

It is strange how Lavia escapes criticism every week despite the fact that he is one half of the defensive midfield partnership that is supposed to give protection to the back four during opposition attacks, yet last night there were gaping big holes in front of the back four where Forest players were able to roam at wlll and take up scoring positions waiting for balls in from their wingers or lumped up from the back. People always talk about how Ward Prowse is massively overhyped by the media but this lad is massively over-hyped on here in just the same way. People love to shovel the brown stuff onto our centre backs but it's about time Lavia was called out for not doing his job anywhere near well enough. Yes he's great at winning tackles but his positional sense leaves a lot to be desired. Ok he's a raw young lad but if he's good enough to be part of the team then he is old enough for criticism as well. He was more than partly to blame for their first two goals last night and the fourth.

They were knackered, what did you expect?.
-
What did anybody expect. This was our bunch of brainless headless chickens at their most incompetent. Utter rubbish.
-
Sounds like double helpings of wishful thinking. Prepare yourself for a massive let-down
-
We should offload most of the back line and rebuild from there. Not one of them is reliable enough to ensure solidity and confidence in defence. Then prioritise bringing in players that can hold the ball, have good game management and can pass accurately.
