  1. Switched off after 38 mins. Absolute dross and Colwell wasn't even our best player.
  2. Am I the only one who hasn't a clue what you're talking about?
  3. If he's any good why are City letting him leave?
  4. ……….and why not Maya Yoshida to partner him, two golden oldies kitted out in gold coloured boots
  5. One goal per season should do it.
  6. Not another Nathan Redmond please! Lyanco will delight the fans in Turkey.
  7. We are probably resigned to losing Kyle Walker-Peters so Abu would be understudy to Livramento assuming he stays with us. Not sure about Bree, doubt he has much of a future here.
  8. "His job is to ensure the group is ready for that and to convince who he can to stay". The problem will be the money. Footballers are no different to the rest of us, who in general live to their means. Few could take a huge drop in salary and still maintain their current lifestyles. Despite their wealth they will have large mortgages and kids at expensive private schools and still the need to keep up with their particular set of Jones's. If they can get firm interest from a PL club they may have little choice but to accept whatever is on offer as it is bound to be more than we can pay them in the EFL Championship. A professional footballer's career is notoriously short so they are conditioned to think short term just to ensure that the gravy train keeps flowing and none of us would blame them.
  9. I think he's genuine
  10. Well mate, you are off to a lousy start by talking absolute bullocks. OK you could be a WUM but if you are serious then chances are you'll be on most people's ignore settings straight away. Welcome to the forum!
  11. Surely it's up to Martin who leaves and who stays and he needs time to work that out. Pre season started less than a week ago. You need to be patient. What other clubs do is absolutely irrelevant to what we do. What is it they say "Marry in haste, repent at leisure". We will see who's approach was best at Christmas.
  12. Orsic may indeed have been a case in point, we could have set the fee low because we didn't want him.
  13. 10-12. Without him we would probably have set a new low points total record for the PL
  14. I have a feeling SR that will play hardball on transfer fees for our best players, especially the ones we would prefer to keep. If they set high release fees and stick to their guns some suitors will be put off simply because they will have hoped that we will be desperate enough for cash to accept ridiculously low offers such as the derisory alleged offer for Tina Livramento. Even if a player is determined to leave, somebody will still have to pay the money. If SR dig in early on word will soon spread that they are no soft touch and so we might find that so called interest in some of our players could dissipate rapidly. I guess the principle is set low fees for the players we no longer want but much higher ones for the players that we would prefer to hold onto. Fingers crossed we might indeed end up keeping gems like Alcaraz, Suleman, Tella & Livramento. Let's see it fro Saints point of view for a change not the players.
  15. We are in the Championship.
  16. He was only a regional manager not on main board or anywhere near it.
  17. Probably just a load of one-on-one meets today just to say hello whilst the players do their fitness tests. Key question; are you staying or leaving? We won't see the lists but would love to be a fly on the wall.
  18. Far too much facial hair on display. What have they got to hide? Scared of the boss?
  19. Aren't most of the people who work for Dyson Chinese? Dyson, the man is a detestable individual, a fervent backer of Brexit after which he moved his business abroad and buggered off to Monaco to live. I hope this bloke has more moral fibre than his old boss
  20. Obviously he'll want to start with a clean sweep but I wouldn't be rolling out the red carpet for him just yet. A man with no baggage at least. Seriously, it's good that he has had so much experience of running a football club .
  21. What a silly comment to make. Surprised at you.
  22. Maybe we should have a fiver on it. I'm not understanding what your optimism is based on even if it is to be applauded. For a start we have no idea which players will be here to start the season, whether by retention or through incoming transfers. Secondly the new manager may or may not be any better than the last four and will have had only a few weeks to decide who best fits his style of play and meld them into an effective working unit. Thirdly it is always a supreme folly to underrate or dismiss all opponents as inadequate or worthless. I am confident that you had taken all these factors into account when forming your considered judgement but my assessment of the hard realities of our situation has led me to a different conclusion. We will struggle in the first third of the season and are unlikely to be in the top six at Christmas.
  23. If we were that good, we'd still be in the PL. You might be in for a nasty surprise.
