  1. Our cat. She loves it. We call her Elyopoussi. Welcome to the Premier League Express, Flynn. if you're only three times better than JWP that'll be just fine for me.
  2. They expected him to be at least as good as Perraud in case Perraud left. As things stand, the Frenchman is still here and all things being equal* will easily displace Manning. * Favouritism may come into play, we don't really know how open-minded and neutral Martin will be on these things.
  3. Do Everton understand that 'though? More importantly does Adams understand that? Perhaps the Toffees are preparing for life in the Championship. Time to call time on him in my view and start a clean page with a new striker. Too much sentiment building around the idea of a prolific Che Adams that never existed in reality and never will.
  4. Amazing that a player for long considered on here as a WoS is now regarded as indispensable to our efforts to regain PL status. You couldn't make it up.
  5. We made harder work of that than we should have done. Much better second half but we still need a creative midfielder who can turn all that effort into clear goal scoring chances. AA looks better in midfield than up front. Charles deserves a shout out, we won't hang onto him for long that's for sure. Defence looked a bit better but weren't really tested by a poor Plymouth attack.
  6. Amongst all the doom and gloom of what if's and maybe's it's worth remembering another comment made by Martin on Tuesday night, that certain players who wanted out after relegation have changed their minds and are happy to stay. He didn't name them but there were lots of smiles at SMS on Wednesday from SArmstrong, Adams, Tella and Alcaraz. 🤞
  7. Quite; alleged interest in Smallbone seems to have evaporated at the time his injury was announced.
  8. Managers always say that but 'Phil' is calling the shots and no way will he resist a sale or encourage expenditure. He's an out and out bean counter and beans is all he cares about. Don't be too disappointed when Adams leaves and nobody comes in. That has been and seemingly always will be the Saints way. You read it here first.
  9. She is Dutch and offers from the men's game would probably come from a Dutch side. I imagine it is being or has been discussed over there. Plenty of female CEO's lead big companies so why not? It's her brain that's bringing success not her skill or physical strength as a footballer.
  10. Why that hasn't happened was fully explained by the new CEO on Tuesday night. If you didn't go or watch suggest you run the vid.
  11. Good try but your defence is unconvincing like Saints'
  12. Very unfair and the innuendo is border line libellous. The gentleman concerned was perceptive enough to realise that the predominantly male panel and male audience was pretty much ignoring Marianne Spacey so he chose a question that would bring her into the conversation. Football and Southampton Football Club still have only a nodding acquaintance with equality.
  13. So the only useful takeaways from this event were that Downes is coming in this week and every one of our players is up for sale at the right price… and there were we hoping we had stopped becoming a selling club and that a firm line had been drawn under further transfers out. Not that this comes as a surprise after Wilcox was so scathing about everything and everyone involved in SFC before his own arrival. Clearly he has no interest in retaining any of the players who were here last season other than Bazunu who has emerged as an unlikely Martin favourite. The new CEO comes over as second rate, second-hand car dealer; honestly, all that crap about the importance of sustaining SFC financially pretty much told us what we all knew anyway that with this lot the balance sheet is king, players are assets only and the notion of early promotion back to the PL a pipe dream for fans to puff over.. It's small time thinking by small men with no vision.
  14. Did you think about that before you wrote it?
  15. Apart from making management feel important and good about themselves and allowing them to tick the box [Fan Engagement] on their CSR policy survey, I can't see any value in these get togethers whatsoever. Let's be honest for most of the questions we lot can think of asking, the answers we will get from them are boringly predictable and self evident. I wouldn't embarrass myself by asking them. Boycotting it will send a stronger message than any ill thought through utterances from the fans.
  16. One of the best thought through posts I have ever read on here 👋👍
  17. Obviously is Chat GTP, very little doubt about that. Pathetic and bloody insulting he would think to do that and get away with it. Obviously doesn't give a toss about the club or fans. Money, money, money Artificial intelligence seems about right for this bloke
  18. A shambolic performance that hardly inspires confidence. If this level of incompetence continues Saints will be nowhere near the top six
  19. They are under contract and new management now so they should stop whining (if indeed they are or ever were?) knuckle down and get on with it.
  20. Hey! My ire goes much further back than that, I'm still cursing Martin Bl**dy Chivers, treacherous B!
  21. Last night's humiliation and today's news of Ward Prowse's exit will have left the Club in a state of semi-disarray whilst confidence in Martin's coaching staff will have been dented especially as he did a barely disguised good job of distancing himself from the Cup match result by blaming his players. Not the best of circumstances to head into our first home match of the new season. These events are far too recent to be glossed over and the mood on the training ground must be sober rather than optimistic. The team needs a lift and it's not easy to see who has the ability to do the lifting at least not in this short timescale. I'm expecting a difficult few days spilling over into Saturday's game. I just can't see the team harmony on display for the Sheff Weds match being repeated so expect Saints to go down 1-3 to a canny Norwich,
  22. As Club Captain, Ward Prowse's chronic lack of leadership contributed more than a little to our demise of the past few seasons and ultimate relegation. One might have expected that now in Saints hour of need he would set aside any personal ambitions and be the first person to rally around the flag and lead the fight back but No! At the first sniff of rancid banknotes the big rats are fighting each other to get off the sinking ship and Ward Prowse it now proves has led the charge. Shame on him. It certainly leaves bitter taste. To hell with all the sentimental twaddle that so many forum scribes have posted on here, Ward Prowse has acted despicably and deserves opprobrium rather than misplaced misty eyed acclaim. He's b*ggered off to enrich himself and left us the pick up the pieces. Good bloody riddance to him.
  23. Glad you're not rushing to judgement.
  24. Looks like an obvious and sensible reserve team selection. Resting the first team squad for Saturday makes perfect sense. Also a chance for Martin to further assess the fringe players before deciding who stays and who goes. Good to see Perraud back. Those trying to read something more into the line up and omissions than there is need to lighten up.
