This of course is the $64million question. After the reshuffle expected during the summer when most of the half competent players - and let's face it there aren't many of those - will have moved on, the majority of the dross will still be here under contract as no other club will be in the least bit interested in them. So we will start life in the Championship with a makeshift team of half-wits and also-rans with zero positional understanding and who can't hold onto the ball when they've got it let alone make accurate or meaningful passes. It will take several seasons to find a few new stars around which to build a revitalised team that can seriously challenge for promotion. We can only hope that in the interim period the rump of the current crop can exert themselves enough to avoid a further relegation but it is a pious hope and the odds of them doing so are every low indeed. There are many reasons to expect that we will go straight down to League 1; poor quality players, long-term losing mentality, low morale caused by dropping down a division, 'wannaway' emotions frustrated by long contracts. No manger on earth can be expected to address and overcome factors such as these quickly or even at all and self evidently it will take a season or three to change emotions and find the new talent on which to build a better future. So having sat and watched bemusedly at the sheer incompetence of our so-called team performance and pretty much every individual player last night, I could not find even a spark of hope that things will or can get better anytime soon. What was more disturbing was the clear and obvious deterioration of team performances from match by match. To me it is a one way ticket to oblivion.

In fairness it hasn't really mattered who he picked as a starting XI, nothing has worked simply because we have the worst group ever of players on our hands. That's not an excuse for Selles, he's had a fair crack of the whip and his limitations have been self evident. His tenure has achieved nothing. He must go.

Aren't you content at seeing us lose every time on our own ground?
-
We certainly will need money for the new contract for Mohammed Elyonoussi.
-
Yep, the Saints story all over again. They also have an almost copy-cat identical stadium.
-
Dream on old chap, dream on. Did you tell ChatGPT that we will be a Championship club next season and our cloth will have to be cut to suit. It's not a question of who we would like it's more who we can get.

That ship sailed long ago. Doubt anybody at the Academy these days still remember him and he was never a fan's favourite. He's done OK at Fulham so why would he want to move unless he runs out of contract and they let him go on a free. Let's face it having had Lavia for a season and Romeu we have seen what the standard should be and Reed is nowhere near that level.

Rats, Rats and Sinking ships and all that. With friends like Steele and Crocker who needs enemies?

Probably be Neil Warnock, Mick McCarthy or Nigel Pearson.

We've won 6 all season and now you want us to win 4 from 7……………………….🤩

JWP certainly divides opinion. My reading of the lad is that he is a very average footballer with a special talent at free kicks. That in itself doesn't make him a good footballer. He is more consistent now than when he broke in to the first team as a regular but not by that much, perhaps a little braver now but not by much and risk averse he certainly is while his leadership qualities leave much to be desired. I would like to see him leave, there's not much more he can do here and it is even doubtful we'd miss him at all. I'd love to see a Saints team that does not feel compelled to always recycle the ball to him.

…but idiots like you drove him out of the club and no doubt will do the same for Bazunu

Spending £11.99 on a Now TV day membership proved to be a fantastic decision for a superb action packed match that disappointed only in the end result. Anybody who loves football will have enjoyed this hell for leather spectacle between two teams with everything to lose. What's to say that has not already been said? There was never a logical hope that we could beat Arsenal at the Emirates and in the end reality bit in. In truth we lucked in with a freak goal after 27seconds and the shock and disarray that it caused to the Gunners was evident when we sliced through their non existent defence for our worldie second. After that there was always the niggling feeling that class would show and that we would not be able to hang onto our lead even when it went to 3-1. Every one will be frustrated, disappointed and dismayed at the outcome and the blame game will be in full swing all day. Bear in mind though that we have been down and out for weeks now so one more disappointment makes no difference to our season anyway.

I don't see any similarities at all.
-
Anybody else think its worth spending £11.99 to watch this on Sky?

Turkish, really you should not have posted this. Very poor taste indeed. I doubt the parents of the two little girls that Huntley murdered would find any references to that hideous monster at all funny.

Golden Raspberry End of Season Player & Manager Awards
Charlie Wayman replied to Saint Billy's topic in The Saints
This plus we have played one more game than the others so in effect need to win 3 more games than at least three other relegation candidates. So far fetched it is laughable that anybody still thinks we can stay up. The very definition of pie in the sky impossibility -

7. Worse thread on saintsweb this season -
Do you work for them?
-
People say this but the owners have said that they are committed to taking the club forward whatever the outcome of this season. If players have contracts that are not in their final year then we should expect that those players will not be allowed to leave. Some may ask for transfers but that doesn't mean that their requests will be accepted. Unlike many pessimists on here I am not expecting a mass exodus and my bet is that even JWP will hang around to try to lead the team back to the PL at the first attempt.

No way Tella will be playing for us next season. Leave him at Burnley on loan to see how he gets on in the PL then recall him if we get promoted and we have the finished article

Barking up the wrong tree mate. No manager could get a tune out of this bunch of losers. At least nobody can blame Elyonoussi today.
