Maybe Crouch has told Fry that HE will buy Saints FC after the winding-up but not the other assets of SLH. That would be good in one sense but bad from the point of view of being like Brighton were, homeless. It would also by-pass the debt problems of SLH. A temporary ground on The Common rented from the Council with scaffolding stands etc. is obviously one clear possibility but whether that could be done in time for next season is questionable, as planning consent and the like would need to be obtained and for sure our chaps in blue would want limited access of say 5000. They have plenty of big events up there so the capability to do it exists somewhere in the City. At least this would buy time to get a resolution on the future ownership and use of the stadium which I still believe will come down to Tesco or ASDA wishing to expand down there.

Strange rumour on Chester fans forum ...

What financial irregularities? This is crap from beginning to end. Junk it! -
We just go round and round in circles on here talking about this. I wonder if people who start new threads ever bother to read anything else other than their own writings. It is quite obvious that we have not been able to attract a buyer during the past three years so why do you think anything will change now in a credit crunch. £27 million debt, no idiot on earth is going to go for that for their "love" of Saints. The Official Receiver will be called in in August and SLH as we know it will be wound up. If somebody buys saints FC, they will have to hope that a buyer can be found for SMS and who will be altruistic enough to preserve the stadium as a soccer ground and lease it back to saints. Just maybe Tesco or ASDA might do so if they can develop a shopping complex around it.

You are right, of course. I was talking to somebody very high-up at a top auditing company in the City this morning about Saints' chances of getting out of Administration before The Official Receiver is called in and he said quite candidly "With their £27m debt in the present financial climate nobody on earth will buy the club, no chance at all" The person thinks the club will have to be wound up. Sorry, guys but this person knows where it is at and has no axe to grind.

That's me finished now for good. Bye, Bye, Saints! Don't bother looking for me next Saturday, I'll be shoveling manure on my allotment rather than watching it again at SMS. Sh*t* looks the same and smells the same wherever so how will I miss it?

The Run In: All the Games - All the Teams...
Charlie Wayman replied to .comsaint's topic in The Saints
Why go on torturing yourselves. We are down already. A Forest win tomorrow and that's it. Doesn't matter what we do any more. -
The major flaw in your argument is the Math. In any projection like yours the first rule is BE REALISTIC! There is just too much pink-haze wishful thinking in your idea to be taken seriously. There are only 10 or 11K ST holders and they are the most likely people to join a membership scheme. I'd suggest 40% of them MIGHT i.e. 4250 tops. Of the walk-ups and other casuals, say a maximum of 12k, it is hard enough to persuade them to become ST's so NO chnace at all many would spend the sort of money that would by a good ST twice over on a membership scheme that gives them nothing. The only workable solution is to keep plugging away at ST sales to get attendances up to 25K regularly not just as a flash in the pan once a flood when the papers are full of Saints 'desperate predicament'.

I just don't have anything to give like most seniors; an option for £0 is not selectable

Where Will the Creditors Get Their Money From?
Charlie Wayman replied to Guided Missile's topic in The Saints
The aim of the points deduction is I believe to ensure that crafty directors don't wind up a club then immediately re-buy it free of debt and carry on regardless as if nothing had happened. If SLC found a buyer willing to take on the debt as well as the assets, then I don't see how the FL could deduct points from Saints. It is the DEBT issue that will dog us in legal negotiations with the FL. -
£500K Needed to Keep Going to the End of the Season

Still the buckets are useful for all those guys p*ssing in the wind. -
Far too little, FAR too late. We deserve to go down on this showing and we will.

Unfortunately, most likely it will be my second last game. I'll nip along for Burnley whatever our situation and the reason is not masochism but honouring a vow to myself that once Lowe had gone for good, I'd be back, having missed a goodly chunk of this season through Judas Wilde despite being an (expensive) ST holder. Should we stay up, I'll be back for more next season but if as is infinitely more likely we go down, I will not be coming back. I did my fans 'apprenticeship' watching Third Division football back on the 50's & 60's - at least then there was always hope that better days could come; sure enough propelled by Terry Paine, John Sydenham and Ron Davies, Saints realised all our hopes and by the time most of you guys were addicted to Red & White we were a vintage First Division side. Let's be very clear in our own minds that despite all the smoke & mirrors nonsense of re-branding by the FA, FL and their cohorts, Saints will be playing THIRD DIVISION football next year and nobody should expect crowds of more than 11,000 even for the 'big' games against Southend & S****horpe.

Still lost after a gutless display despite the support of fans.

Typical of those lazy Rrseholes, we care, they don't gve a f***! They may not give a toss but I do and I'm up to here with it all. Why should we drag ourselves down there on Monday to watch this load of horse s****? I am not a swearing man but their lack of "performance" today really has made my blood boil. I hope they all sod off in the close season
-
Another Idea. Screen all our remaining away games on the SMS screens and let fans attend as for a normal match paying normal ticket prices... like a cup game, you'd get your own seat but you'd have to pay for it?

What a complete Rrseh*le! -
Does anybody actually care about this any more? Just like the Titanic we are slipping very very slowly but inexorably under the waterline. I just wish the whole thing would explode with one giant Effing whizz-bang and have done with it. Put the poor sods - and us - out of our misery FL by pulling the plug. This crap week after week is just too much to bear. I hope I never have to listen to Bloody Dave Merrington and his gormless remarks ever again
-
As I see it the 10 point deduction is inevitable. What else did SLH do apart from pay blokes to kick footballs around for a living. Oh yes, they sold same blokes to balance their books and SAID SO publicly - out of their own mouths as it were. Unarguable surely?
-
I just hope it's not that devious b*gg*r Wise and his pals. Did nothing at Newcastle except cause mayhem. We are near London, he's played here, just missed out on the managership so he could be one of them up for it. We have to face it chaps, I've been coming here for nearly 60 years and crowds of 25K + at either The Dell or SMS have been the rare exception rather than the rule. 17/18K tops is all we ever get even when we are doing well in settled circumstances. In the unlikely event we'll ever see the BIG FOUR here again, even their presence will pall over time just 'cos people get fed up with having no chance and losing 4-0 or worse.
-
I thought Hodgson knew what he was about but Lallana? £650k will be over the odds for a useless t*ss*r like him.
-
That's true Nick but what about the "Leon & Lawrie" comedy routine before the match. They have no official status either so why were they not thrown off the pitch as you or I or any other member of Joe Public would have been? The trouble id they have big mouths and just can't keep them shut even when only hot air spills forth.
-
Totally gutless performance. You get the impression they are mor e interested in finding new jobs elsewhere for next season raher than get Saints out of the hole they have pt us in. As far as I'm concerned they all can b*gger off with the exception of Davis
