Daily Star: ... Chaplow to snub Crystal Palace move
Charlie Wayman replied to H's topic in The Saints
Whoa, hang on there fellas, it wasn't that long ago that you were all saying he could do no wrong... give the guy a chance to show what he can do in the PL before you lynch him. -
Far too pessimistic. This team of ours with emphasis on youth will surprise you.
-
Tut tut! Slipped your mind again? We need two in each position - it is a SQUAD game, repeat S-Q-U-A-D SQUAD!!!
-
Yet it's Luke Shaw that everyone wants to buy. Crikey just imagine if we have two great stars in the making and they stay here for at least five years. Could we be the new Man U since evidently you can win things with kids. Now we need to stuff ManC on Day 1. Come on you R's ( and er um White's!)

with us I hope!

Beram Kayal - £5m - from Celtic (linked in Telegraph)
Charlie Wayman replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
It reminds me of the Maslow's hierarchy of Needs that we were taught at management school and the lack of greed of bankers who just love doing their jobs because the work in Canary Wharf, one of the best office facilities in the UK. It is of course all absolute ******** and really sad that a well informed bloke like you can swallow this type of propaganda gobble-de-gook without question -

You're right! People forget that the PL is all about squads in-depth; whist on paper we may have a reasonably capable "first pick" midfield, they are all injury and emotion prone. At best you need two "first pick" sets of players in each position and W-P whilst being a really exciting prospect is not going to cope with Nasri, Tevez & Saurez just yet. On the other hand we don't want to be bringing in a load of expensive misfits in here either - one or two obstinate personalities who think more of their salary packages than the team cause would cause mayhem; whatever the alleged diplomatic capabilities of Adkins he can't be expected to shape-up and bring into the fold too many "been-there done that" prima -donas (?) at one time and only a month ahead of the real ko. -
Of course it would but that is for the future, maybe, one day, when such success would suck in the plastic prawn sandwich brigade. As of today we are nowhere near that level and I'll settle for being amongst the best of the rest and hope we never become another debt ridden bunch of Arab-owned, show-boating, ****-takers who's only tradition is to get chucked out of back street strip joints in a permanent haze of alcohol fuelled self pity.

Brighton have never been seen as 'local' rivals to Saints, for the most part they've inhabited lower leagues than us, secondly they are effing miles away and thirdly Reading & Aldershot and Bournemouth are all much closer. They're just another team that comes and goes. Might as well say Everton are rivals as we've played them more often. Crawley are their local derby team

Does anybody seriously believe Saints will sell more than 22k tops. Never went higher last time around so why this time especially now people are much more skint?
-
It's called all F*=*ing chiefs and no F*=*ing indians. The last thing we want here are thicko loud-mouthed know-alls who can't even do their own jobs properly. We've had a few over the years have we not?

All Saints fans should protest about this disgusting slur

Mods, you should report this to the police. -
Our Future? Stadium Expansion Proposal on Season Ticket DVD
Charlie Wayman replied to Colinjb's topic in The Saints
The last three years have been pretty damned good, can anything be better than that? I doubt it. -
Well I hope so otherwise how does he play football?

Would this signal the Exit sign for de Ridder?

Bloody brilliant mate! Input of the year.
-
But Dean - oh! FFS doesn't know what it means in English either.

I often agree with you but don't get too worried. Look what we did in in the nPC when many predicted we 'd do well to stay up. Never under-estimate the oppos but equally don't over-estimate them either. "Up there" is where we were for 27 years without a shed-full of super stars and mercenaries. In Saints we trust must be our motto - when the going gets tough the oppo will get stuffed! All you need do is get your belief back

Try not drinking at matches, surely you can mange that for 90 mins. It'll mean the loo's will be less crowded so more room for smokers.

Bloody hell! what a completely useless thread. What's it got to do with footie? Get on with your work you skiving sod!
-
Nailed it. What's the betting he's gone before Christmas. Better start packing Nige and thanks for the memories.
-
Come off it, most of these blokes stay up 'til 5am sh*gging all the local groupies. They wouldn't hear anything outside their rooms, too much noise.
-
Yes, hopefully but I sit up above there, my seat price has been doubled, they now call it "Premium" seating and "Corporate" yet it's still the same old cheap plastic f**king tip ups. What a load of bull**** gets spouted around there these days! Don't hold your breath. Cheap fix = Southampton FC, always was, always will be!

Kyle Naughton - Tottenham Hotspur (link in The Mirror)
Charlie Wayman replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
£5m is not the '£6m mark' is it? This is the PL don't forget so chicken feed really even with declining prices and sales this season. I do agree that £5m is still a whole lot of dosh and one can't help but wonder if a second string English RB from a medium sized club like spuds is worth the candle. Had he been from an Italian, Spanish or German club and palyed in the recent Euro comp then £5m great but he didn't and he probably won't be even England level so £2m tops even if we really, really want him.
