Leeds 3 - 0 Saints - Post Match Reaction
Charlie Wayman replied to Saint_clark's topic in The Saints
Everyone associated with tonight's diabolical performance should be shot. I feel sorry for the poor bloody fans who spent a fortune and their whole day travelling all the way up to Leeds to watch that load of s***e. Now, I am convinced we are going down and Adkins and his cohorts are effing clueless and will get the boot - and not soon enough on this inept load of crap. They don't deserve our support. -
So nobody knows anything?

Saints 1-2 Spurs // Post-Match Views
Charlie Wayman replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
So now we have to put up with long ball football and kick and rush... and still we can't get points. Whatever happened to the mantra of "sticking to our football principles". Not only does the man talk to himself in the mirror, he now writes in metaphors about sailing in rough waters and stormy seas ahead! FFSGAG! One of us seems to be stark raving bonkers, I don't think it's me? Now I'm convinced we'll never turn this around under the present regime - it is devoid of new ideas; everyone knows that doing the same old thing in the same old way always leads to the same old result. -
The haunted and scared look in his face tells all. This is not the happy confident person that started the season, it's all beginning to tell as is face shows signs of premature aging. He knows he's in a fight for his job and by this evidence there isn't long to go.

Maybe we have to contend with the fact that scouts watch us and PL teams are cute enough to know how to neutralise the threat of Ricky Lambert so in all probability they come here or go here expecting Ricky to be the main threat so why not surprise then by keeping our powder dry for later. The element of surprise when they find he isn't there can be a major advantage in the first half whilst the oppo's run around trying to re-organise themselves for a different formation to the one they practiced on Friday morning. Then when they are in disarray, bring Ricky on and create havoc again with the originally intended formation by which time the oppo's won't know where they are... It worked a treat at Upton Park last weekend and they were thoroughly demoralised by the time the score was 4-1. What's that? We lost 4-1... well at least we tried, oh! tiddles still better to try and fail then never to have tried at all, eh Nige?

There were no programme sellers for Fulham, I bought mine at the refreshments counter along with a coffee and hot dog. Where's the problem? Time people stopped over reacting to trivia.

Harry Redknapp to be named manager within 3 weeks
Charlie Wayman replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Look forward not back for the answer to the questions "What if?" & "Who?" We haven't reached the "What if?" yet so Nigel Adkins is NOT history and we should not be hypothesising about his demise. If we reach the "Who?" of a new manager, it'll be a decision made with great care and with the intent that the appointee will be here for many years to come, based on the assumption that Mr Cortese is still very serious about his ambition for Saints to be a top-six club. Will not be English Will be young Will be a name Will have Champions League experience Mr Sandbanks doesn't really fit such criteria so please sleep soundly tonight. -
Like the PL it sounds enticing but what is she expecting from you? Can you perform at her level or will you disappoint as so often happens?
-
The truth is that 97% of all PL matches are mind-numbingly boring as there is nothing at stake for anybody except 3 clubs whilst about another 12 spend their lives going up and down like a fiddler's elbow so nobody gives a tit who's in the league and who isn't anymore. 'Fair Play' may help but don't hold your breath. Greatest league in the world? Yur avin a laff ain't ya?

Is Lallana part of our problem?
Charlie Wayman replied to Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd's topic in The Saints
Probably best we don't start picking all our players to bits on here. They all have good days and bad days. It is naive to think that there is a single cause for all our woes and a single cure. Why single out Lallana? -
Don't be so bloody naive. This is a privately owned football club so they can do what they want and say nowt of they want. It is not a public listed company so there are no shareholders to answer to. Whenever did you hear anything from Abromovitch about internal business matters. If Adkins is to go then his settlement has to be agreed as well as that of Crosby and others who'll get the big heave-ho with him before any announcements and decisions are made about who comes next. Salarynegotiations, terms and conditions, work permit etc. stuff will have had to have been sorted out also with the new guy. Cortese will not make any statement until everything is complete, i's dotted and t's crossed. He's not the type to have loose ends floating around especially for the press to pick up. These days you don't just wake up and decide "that's it". Adkins will have had all the statutory warnings about his performance no doubt as well as all of the above if he has now been seen to have failed in his duties. It all takes time but it's probably already been done. The last thing this club will want is to put somebody like Dodd in temporary charge for 4 matches whilst searching for a new guy. That's not the image of dithering that Cortese wants to be seen in public. A man of few words but well chosen when they come! Wait for the lovely old phrases to kick in like "mutually agreed", "a new challenge", "taken the club as far as he can", "a new direction".... ... don't expect to hear "Sacked, you useless twit!"

Independent article sums it up perfectly
Charlie Wayman replied to Supersubpuckett's topic in The Saints
The reporter has nailed it spot on. I'm afraid you are deluding yourself if you think otherwise -
Let's not forget our very own Alan Pardew. Watching Newcastle play is like watching the Saints who won the Johnson's Paint Trophy with he same resolute defending. Get him back where he belongs
-
Glenn Hoddle is the thinking man's choice
-
For whom the bell tolls? it tolls for us
-
Well the obvious first choice is Roy Hodgson but whether or not he'd give up on England is a moot point. With the FA chairman now being forced into retirement because he's 70 and he being Roy's main supporter, it is possible Roy would come here. I can't think of anybody better who'd be interested.
-
The Spurs game may be the decider for Nigel's future but the other coaches must share the blame.
-
You should not be too pessimistic. There is a new mood in FIFA and Serbia deserve to and will be kicked out of all competition indefinitely, mark my words. This has been far too public to be dismissed easily even by Blatterer

Le Tissier: "Cortese is not a nice human being"
Charlie Wayman replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
So what do you call it then? Embittered indeed. We'll judge Mr Cortese from our own experience in time thank you very much and if passing on stories you've been told is not stirring then what do you call it? For goodness sake let's have bit of harmony around the place for long enough to enjoy it, we are in a good place no thanks to MlT and every thanks to Nicole Cortese so that's where I'll put my trust and probably many more feel like me. We are sick and tired of naysayers and fifth columnists here. -
50% of the squad from the Academy - is it viable?
Charlie Wayman replied to tajjuk's topic in The Saints
'Friad it doesn't work like that. -
Training Ground Development - "temporarily suspended"
Charlie Wayman replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
That is probably right but it is nigh impossible to dot every i and cross every T in a building specification. Architects are designers not quality surveyors or construction engineers and of course in a low cost project like this the chances of all the writings being joined up are slim. No doubt the Club thought they were getting 'this' and the contractor thought they meant it wanted 'that' with 'that' always being far less than 'this'. Remember what happened when you got your extension built or your garden landscaped? Or you car repaired? hans up all those who are still friends with the garage where you bought your last car. It is not deceit as such just expectations v reality for the number of chips being spent. For the aforementioned statue of Guly the Magician, we probably just said "make it gold", expecting it to be embossed with gold leaf whereas the painter assumed we meant he'd pop round to B & Q and but a can of hammerite! -
Does Lallana need dropping to give him a kick up the backside?
Charlie Wayman replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
He was not at his best on Sunday but hell's bells lads he has just become a dad and you know what that means, totally ****ged through sleepless nights and early starts even before he turns up for training. I should think the poor lad is shell-shocked and walking around in a permanent daze. There is no answer until little Arthur goes through the night without waking and gets up at 8.00 am and that will be 3 years down the track so maybe we should sell him now? -
This 'poll' has overwhelmingly and emphatically delivered a "NO" - so let this be an end to all those monotonous threads.
-
These sort of threads should not be dignified by response but many still take the bait every time. The Peter Principle also says "If you have nothing useful to say then keep your trap shut!" OP please take note; find another hobby like finishing your homework on time.
