Villa 0 v Saints 1 post match chat & MotM
Charlie Wayman replied to SOTONS EAST SIDE's topic in The Saints
Yes but the others didn't stop them either so what's to lose -
Rickie was at the Odeon last night. Looked nice and relaxed and enjoying a night out with his misses before battle begins. Hope he saw Life of Pi in 3D sort of imagination these guys need right now
-
would you take a point at Villa if offered now?
Charlie Wayman replied to whelk's topic in The Saints
We need all three to have any hope of moving up the table to safety. Blow this one and we will be running out of winnable games especially of the away variety -
You miserable git. Sod off with your snide comments.

Excellent news. Let's take it at face value and stop thinking all the time that our young players really don't want to be here. It's fans who lack self confidence not the players. None of our lads seem keen to get away and the ones out on loan are pretty keen to get back in. Look at Jason for example, worked his socks off to show he had the talent to be in the team rather than sulk off and bad mouth us just for the hell of it.

The quicker a European Super League is set up the better then the likes of ManUre, Mancy and Chelski can bugger off for good. Nobody will miss them, they've done their best to ruin football in England for everyone else and helped bankrupt more than a few clubs along the way.

di Matt-e-o didn't do very well at Chelsea or Wigan. In any case Nigel Adkins is by far the nicest manager in the PL, he's a very nice man an that's good enough for me.
-
Adkins is so effing upbeat about everything that he would describe a player as fine as long as they're not actually walking around on crutches, heavily bandaged. It's becoming impossible to trust his word any longer.

Villa are improving all the time as lambert and his young players settle in. They know this is a 'six-pointer' as well as we so they're not going to let it slip without a fight. It looks like it's between them and us for that nasty 18th place. Much as I'd l;ike to think we can get a good result, Villa will think the same, they're at home with massive support and it won't be easy. The best we can expect is 1-1 or 2-2 but my feeling is we'll lose this 3-1. Sorry but that hammering from the Cossacks will have rattled our confidence and if we go behind panic may set in.

Lambert who is going on 31 or Lallana who is crocked for weeks on end every season.

Wake-up call, reality check call it what you will we are in the same league as this Chelsea team and we never looked like competing with them. Ok maybe we will never match them for sheer individual quality as it doesn't come cheap and seemingly the West London cossacks have an unlimited pot of gold or is that oil supporting them but we really have to do something in the transfer window and something big? I read that "we will only buy players that will improve us", on today's showing it would be difficult to buy a player who didn't improve us so lamentable were we at times in the second half. We need to spend and spend big if we have ambitions to be anything more than also rans in the PL. As things are right now a loss at Villa and with the inevitable thrashing at Chelsea and probably defeat to Everton to follow we could be bogged down in the bottom three and losing touch. This is not a case of faint hearts, today all our flaws were ruthlessly exposed with many of our players clearly not good enough to compete at the very highest level. -

My son lives in St Albans he'll be delighted to know there's another saints fan there. We were up there yesterday and Loch Fyne celebrating a birthday. Great place to live but you must have shedloads of dosh. -

No harm in resting old Rick now and again, he's knocking on a bit now and 4 games in 10 days is asking a lot of the old codger. -

I called it as a 2-2 so 1-1 ok for me. Guessed our ex-pats wouldn't be up for it here in front of their old home crowd so surprised Wenger started them. I wonder, did they let us "win" so they could have Morgan and Luke on the cheap - how else do you explain their incompetence and our unusual dominance. I'm not allowed to expand further. Now to stuff Benitez & Co. -
We tried to play them at their - and our - own game in London and got turned over so what do we do? Saturday proved we can't sit back and contain teams so going all defensive isn't the answer either. It could be highly entertaining... We must try to take the game to them from kick off and hope they have an off day but they don't seem to have many of those these days. I'm guessing a bit of everything will happen, 5.30 ko is an awful time for players so a classic is unlikely and it may prove to be an out-of-sorts 2-2 draw. No doubt Adkins will play his usual taped message afterwards but this time anything we get will be a bonus.

The January 2013 HCDAJFU thread...
Charlie Wayman replied to Dibden Purlieu Saint's topic in The Saints
Looks like Brum are inviting us to come and get Jack Buckland for £6M now they're skint. Let's do it as Kelvin is way past ready to be put out to grass on yesterday's showing. He's looking old - sorry mate but time to hang up the old gloves and boots. -
WTF is wrong with Adkins, 3-1 up going on 4-1 and he goes all defensive to "protect the win"..... WTF is that all about? Any clown knows you can't defend a lead for 45 mins by just not bothering to play football and let the oppo's come at you time and time again and try to keep them out. The bloke is tactically effing useless and even if he can only see the positives I'm effed if I can and pretty sure Mr Cortese won't either. Unless we do something different pretty soon we are going down the effing tube make no mistake.

Look, we don't know and won't know. Haven't you learned anything? NC does not discuss business matters in public and certainly not with fans. JP will sign for 4 years have no fear... -
Yep! Especially as most clubs have never heard of Lallana and couldn't give a stuff whether he's on the pitch or not. Hardly a guy who gives the oppos sleepless nights is he?
