Latest I've heard around town is that he will soon be 18 so no more of this 17 year old boy wonder stuff. He'll be a Man and probably too old for transfer speculation, after all who wants a washed up has been ;-)

Just been to the ticket office.. amazing how speedily and painlessly they extracted £730 from my wallet. Took all of 3 minutes. What if they bugger off and don't leave a forwarding address?

The Academy has such a good reputation that we should think of it as one would a prestigious university. Everyone wants to come here because they think they'll get a superb football education and a decent real education at the same time. Does not mean they intend to be a Saint or indeed ever put on a Saints shirt. Once they've graduated many will be off to the highest bidder like that little mercenary who now plays for Wenger & Hodgson. I just don't buy in to a "Lancashire lad" wanting to play for Saints. ManU, yes; ManC, yes; Liverpool, yes; Everton, maybe... Saints? Oh come off it, pull the other one!

How dare you, sir! The rest of us have had the electrode treatment so there is no past... no present, no future. We just turn up get mugged and go home, turn up get mugged, go home... it's the Southampton way, always was always will be. Hands up anybody who's ever had a freebie out of this club, well OK but they'll find a way of charging us for that soon. Do you remember old er Ad.. dle? What happened to him?

Bang on! Bet we're paying for it, too.

Rodriguez, how do we rate him after a year?
Charlie Wayman replied to norwaysaint's topic in The Saints
Well, he's no Messi that's for sure or Suarez or Aguero. Maybe more of a Defoe. At least he has some pace and hopefully will find the knack of hitting the target one day soon. This will be his make-or-break season, no progress by Christmas and he'll be consigned to the nPC -
We already have Eterna so no room for Swatch

OFFICIAL: Adidas announced as new kit supplier
Charlie Wayman replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Why not? Plenty of folk from Southampton shop in Gunwharf Quay. My car resplendent with Saints badge has been OK down there these last 10 years, which rather suggests that few down there give a stuff about all this rivalry crap that seems to turn people like you on. -
OFFICIAL: Adidas announced as new kit supplier
Charlie Wayman replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
No. Three lines is the Adidas brand signature. -
Thanks Ron for all those wonderful memories at The Dell. We will never forget you.

Nestle are the obvious Swiss conglomerate so any of their subsidiary activities with the exception of confectionary would be OK legally but no F1 link that we know of.

Alcohol companies cannot sponsor sports clubs that attract young people, it's the law!

'Twas me folks... but it was only a guess putting two and two together. Wasn't trying to start off an unofficial rumour. My track record for getting things right as afr as saints are concerned is Zilch!

Premier League? You're having a laugh! Ho! Ho! Ho! ...lloway

So Palace & Hull confirmed to go down. Stoke or Sunderland to join them, maybe even Fulham who's time must be up?
-
Why on earth would Cortese want to be tied in with Lotus-Renault, more likely Red Bull if they are allowed to sponsor soccer. Alcohol, tobacco & confectionary businesses are off limits for sports companies but not sure where an energy drink fits.

Anyone interested in half share in ST in Northam
Charlie Wayman replied to ladysaint's topic in The Saints
Nope. Is it 'legal' under the Ts & Cs of sales? What's a numpty, by the way? -
Idle, speculative rubbish.

Dean Hammondd is a great box-to-box player like Jack Cork but less mobile and with less stamina. He's played really well for the Seagulls and almost helped them into the PL. Had he done so it would have been bitter irony for the lad if Brighton had also taken the view that he isn't good enough for the PL. Age is against him but he deserves a crack at it surely, just look at how Rickie responded to all those taunts of not being up to it. Alas the modern Saints don't do sentiment and it is more likely we'll end up with a bus load of La Liga senors. Let's hope the Brits don't get marginalised and we end up like Gooners or Manky with hardly a local lad on the team sheet.

Harry's got an interest there and mates.

Are Stoke the ugliest 'football' team in the Premier?
Charlie Wayman replied to Norm's topic in The Saints
I thought they will be one of the three going down next year even before Pullis was sacked. Thank goodness he's gone they are diabolically awful -
Martin Samuel is no fool. His job is to ask questions and provoke responses. If anybody on here really thinks that what he has written is anything other than an invitation to headstrong foolishness then they should read "The Prince" instead of spending all their time boozing and boring people to death at their local pubs.

SAINTS 1-1 Stoke City // Post-Match Reaction
Charlie Wayman replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
I hope so, it has been quite sad to watch Adam this season performances spiralling downwards becoming more and more frustrated with himself as his dancing tricks always seem to end up in comedy moments with him on the floor and the ball safely with the opposition. We know he can be a match winner when it all comes together but at this level he may be a luxury that we cannot afford except perhaps as an impact player for 20 mins. The great weight of expectation has been on his shoulders for years whilst he has not had the best of luck with injury and fitness, so all this may have taken its toll mentally. Still, he's been a great servant of the club so they need to pull out all the stops to get his undoubted talent working properly again.
